And KZ and the musical arranger’s talent in intensifying the message of the song further! Almost too heartbreaking to hear. It’s a situation no parent wants for their child
Freddie Aguilar Anak (English Version) Lyrics When you were born into this world Your mom and dad saw a dream fulfilled Dream come true The answer to their prayers You were to them a special child Gave 'em joy every time you smiled Each time you cried They're at your side to care Child, you don't know You'll never know how far they'd go To give you all their love can give To see you through and God it's true They'd die for you, if they must, to see you here How many seasons came and went So many years have now been spent For time ran fast And now at last you're strong Now what has gotten over you You seem to hate your parents too Do speak out your mind Why do you find them wrong Child you don't know You'll never know how far they'd go To give you all their love can give To see you through and God it's true They'd die for you, if they must, to see you near And now your path has gone astray Child you ain't sure what to do or say You're so alone No friends are on your side And child you now break down in tears Let them drive away your fears Where must you go Their arms stay open wide 2X [Child you don't know You'll never know how far they'd go To give you all their love can give To see you through and God it's true They'd die for you, if they must, to see you

Ferdinand Pascual Aguilar known as Freddie Aguilar or Ka Freddie Aguilar, wrote a song entitled “Anak” which talks about this kind of matter. Freddie Aguilar is a Filipino folk musician who composes eloquent songs that could capture ones minds and hearts because of its message. His song, “Anak” became popular for its enlightening meaning that everyone could relate to. This song won double platinum award weeks after it was released in the country. The song did not only become popular in the Philippines, but also in different parts of the world. Freddie Aguilar did not only write “Anak” for others, but he also wrote this for himself as he could closely relate to it. When he was 18 years old, his father wanted him to be a lawyer, but he failed to acknowledge his father’s expectation for he left their home. He took a trip to faraway places alongside with only his guitar. Without having the guidance of his parents, he became addicted to gambling. After this, he realized his mistakes and decided to compose the song “Anak” for his parents as a way of asking for forgiveness. His parents welcomed Freddie home even after he disobeyed them. They also became closer after his parents read the lyrics of the classic song. Ka Freddie’s song, “Anak” did not only become popular because of its wonderful melody, but it was also known for its lyrics that articulate about family values. The message of this song is nearly identical to The Parable of The Prodigal Son. It’s about the everlasting love of parents to their children even in the moments wherein they are being disobeyed or rebelled against. The lesson of the song is no matter how much we push away our parents because of our obscure reasoning, we will always end up running back to them. Our parents will always be our home; our only companion in this world full of enemies. Hence, I do not believe in being independent because I know we will always be somehow dependent to our parents. Also, because I believe that they are the backbone of every decision and actions that we do. I recommend Freddie Aguilar’s song, “Anak” to be heard by the youth today. This is for the reason that most of the youngsters today tend to get their influences from modern media and they are not often supervised with it. As a result, some forgets to value and give respect to adults and to their parents. So as they listen to the song, they may cultivate lessons from it and apply it to their lives. Lastly, as they listen to Ka Freddie’s “Anak” they would learn how to value more their parents and realize the greatest love their fathers and mothers are giving to them that started ever since they were born. Listen and sing along with this extraordinary OPM classic song!

ANAK is a popular song in the late 70's written and sung by Freddie Aguilar and because of its popularity it was translated in 27 languages. To me this song is classic because up to this new generation it's still relevant, anyone who hears the song whether in Tagalog, English or whatever language it was translated into it will still touch the heart of the person. Anak (English translation) Child
The day you were born to this world
Your parents were full of joy
And their arms are your light
And your mother and father
Worries and don't know what to do
Watches over you even in your sleep
And in the night, a sleepless night, your mother
Is still awake to prepare your milk
And in the morning you are in the laps
Of your father, who is so joyful because of you
Now you are all grown up
You desire to be independent
Even if your parent forbid, they can't stop you
Isn't it you that changed a lot
Disobeyed them, remained stubborn
And you did not follow their advice
You did not took the time
To think about all the things they've done for you
For you desire, only what is pleasurable
You just ignored them
And the days has past
And you took a wrong turn in life
You are imprisoned in a horrible vice
And you first approach
Your dear crying mother
And asked "Child, what happened to you?"
And your eyes immediately shed tears
Without you noticing
Regretful and you realized
That you were at fault
This is more like it. Great translation.
I agree too...
i certainly agree!
Reading this made me cry thinking of my parents 😭
I love the translation 😍😍 it makes more Poetic 😭😭 and i loved it. what a Sad song

Freddie Aguilar Anak (English Version) Lyrics
When you were born into this world
Your mom and dad saw a dream fulfilled
Dream come true
The answer to their prayers
You were to them a special child
Gave 'em joy every time you smiled
Each time you cried
They're at your side to care
Child, you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you here
How many seasons came and went
So many years have now been spent
For time ran fast
And now at last you're strong
Now what has gotten over you
You seem to hate your parents too
Do speak out your mind
Why do you find them wrong
Child you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you near
And now your path has gone astray
Child you ain't sure what to do or say
You're so alone
No friends are on your side
And child you now break down in tears
Let them drive away your fears
Where must you go
Their arms stay open wide
2X [Child you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you

Fun fact: the original song is Anak (Child, or in gender specifically Son or Daughter) by Freddie Aguilar. It is translated into 27 language.
Check it out the spanish version
when music defies language--- that's the power of Freddie Aguilar's "Anak"....and KZ's rendition here was so moving even in two languages.
obsessed with waleska's fashion ugh
The story of the song is tantamount to the biblical story "The prodigal son".
We agree with you both. Anak ( Child )is an old Filipino song composed by Freddie Aguilar translated in several languages.
That song is so popular to the point that many singers from China, Korea,Japan and more countries made their own version and cover that song

Yeah the last part pretty much summed up in terms of emotion - extreme regret , realizing that you were wrong but somehow - you can’t undo it. It ended in the note of regret.

Guys, you still have not reacted to "SEE YOU AGAIN"...Please do react to that. Ty❤❤❤
This is the best rendition ever! My oldest daughter sang this song for her graduation from The High School of the Performing Arts, thats why I've always loved this piece. You say it' haunting---- very much so. Even when you can't understand, she is so emotionally connected with the piece. One cries, me included, just with the first minute. Incidentally, "Anak" is My Child. Smb
KZ is really great in song arrangement. SHE'S very talented!
KZ also performed SEE YOU AGAIN in this show :)
This song became so famous, singers all over the world made their own rendition of this and in different languages too. This song talks about the sacrifices and love of one's parents to his/her child. What fitting song this Mother's Day. Happy Mothers Day to your Mom guys. 😊
I know KZ is good but i dont even look at what they react anymore.. I just look at Waleska's fave the whole time... Dayum! You are so beautiful...
Hi guys. Been you*re subsc. Lovr your reactions to our filipino singers. Kz was one of the contestants during that singing competitions. Sad to say she lost but she was invited to perform during the finals and she sang our famous filipino song ANAK. Sung by the original singer mr freddie aguilar. Thanks.
Kz is great react see you again u gonna blow your mind??
I like how Efra gave his reaction thoughts, really comes from the heart. If it comes from the heart, it must be genuine and highly intellectual (EQ)❤️❤️❤️
Every time I hear this song it still touches my heart and think about the love of every parents to their child. ANAK means Child/Kid in English.
I love Efra's reaction. Hahaha.... seems like you are being tickled. Hahaha..
kz is singing it in tagalog and chinese version at the same time. you can check the english version of the song by freddie aaguilar titled CHILD. freddie aguilar is also a filipino folk singer.
Happy Mother's Day to all moms out there!!!! Love this song and the rendition.
Like your looks Waleska... so cool and gorgeous... 💐💖💗💝

The day you were born to this world
Your parents were full of joy
And their arms are your light
And your mother and father
Worries and don't know what to do
Watches over you even in your sleep
And in the night, a sleepless night, your mother
Is still awake to prepare your milk
And in the morning you are in the laps
Of your father, who is so joyful because of you
Now you are all grown up
You desire to be independent
Even if your parent forbid, they can't stop you
Isn't it you that changed a lot
Disobeyed them, remained stubborn
And you did not follow their advice
You did not take the time
To think about all the things they've done for you
For you desire, only what is pleasurable
You just ignored them
And the days have past
And you took a wrong turn in life
You are imprisoned in a horrible vice
And you first approach
Your dear crying mother
And asked, "Child, what happened to you?"
And your eyes immediately shed tears
Without you noticing
Regretful and you realized
That you were at fault
