#KzTandingan #ToChildren #REACTION
Anak (English translation) Child
The day you were born to this world
Your parents were full of joy
And their arms are your light
And your mother and father
Worries and don't know what to do
Watches over you even in your sleep
And in the night, a sleepless night, your mother
Is still awake to prepare your milk
And in the morning you are in the laps
Of your father, who is so joyful because of you
Now you are all grown up
You desire to be independent
Even if your parent forbid, they can't stop you
Isn't it you that changed a lot
Disobeyed them, remained stubborn
And you did not follow their advice
You did not took the time
To think about all the things they've done for you
For you desire, only what is pleasurable
You just ignored them
And the days has past
And you took a wrong turn in life
You are imprisoned in a horrible vice
And you first approach
Your dear crying mother
And asked "Child, what happened to you?"
And your eyes immediately shed tears
Without you noticing
Regretful and you realized
That you were at fault
This is more like it. Great translation.
I agree too...
i certainly agree!
Reading this made me cry thinking of my parents 😭
I love the translation 😍😍 it makes more Poetic 😭😭 and i loved it. what a Sad song
before kpop spread all over asia...back in the days this song ANAK by Freddie Aguilar spread throughout Asia....this song has a japanese version, korean version, chinese version...and at that time internet was not a thing yet....imagine how massive this song was to spread through out asia
Not just in Asia but the rest of the world. Its one of the most translated song in world history and performed by many Asians, Americans, Europeans, Africans etc. Music artist.
Runningman host know that song too
i remember going to malaysia and hearing the malaysian version on the radio. That was around 2013, I think. Then I also heard it played/referred to on Infinite Challenge or another Yu Jae Seok show (Korean).
Very true🇯🇵🇵🇭
it has dutch, czech, italian, spanish versions too
The guitarist is Jackie Tam, KZ's Music Partner for the duration of her appearance in the show. He's the one who helped her with translations of lyrics, taught her Mandarin pronunciatiosn, etc. He is a Chinese singer and songwriter.
The song "Anak" became an international hit and was translated in 26 languages.
👍🏼
And that song is really famous in China translated in their language.
I LOVE HOW THE GUITARIST GAVE HIS PERFORMANCE TOO.
@@pjsvlog4712 wow the guitarist was amazing as well wow just wow!
Check out for spanish version
The old guy who witnessing KZ performing in front is an ambassador for Chinese/Filipino and that made it even more special..
He is Ambassador Sta Romana, Philippine Ambassador inChina.
That song is a Filipino song "Anak" by Freddie Aguilar. It became an international hit and was translated into 27 languages. The lyrics speak of Filipino family values. Old Koreans know the song too but in the Korean language of course. Oh there is also a Spanish version of it "Hemano Mio"
Its has a german translation too
Wow! You picked up the vibe “begging to be forgiven” without understanding the language! That is so spot-on! I just love your reactions because you truly “get” what music is all about. 👍🏻
I know! I was so amazed at how perceptive Wale is. This is also testimony to Freddie Aguilar’s gift of translating his intent into music. And KZ and the musical arranger’s talent in intensifying the message of the song further! Almost too heartbreaking to hear. It’s a situation no parent wants for their child
The Philippine ambassador to China, who was shown in the video, said in a related video that KZ was considered a cultural ambassador who helped promote relations between the two countries. KZ was also featured in magazines and TV shows while she was in China.
Freddie Aguilar Anak (English Version) Lyrics
When you were born into this world
Your mom and dad saw a dream fulfilled
Dream come true
The answer to their prayers
You were to them a special child
Gave 'em joy every time you smiled
Each time you cried
They're at your side to care
Child, you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you here
How many seasons came and went
So many years have now been spent
For time ran fast
And now at last you're strong
Now what has gotten over you
You seem to hate your parents too
Do speak out your mind
Why do you find them wrong
Child you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you near
And now your path has gone astray
Child you ain't sure what to do or say
You're so alone
No friends are on your side
And child you now break down in tears
Let them drive away your fears
Where must you go
Their arms stay open wide
2X [Child you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you
English version has different lyrics it does not translate the song sang by KZ.
@@cfv0829 🤭
@@AstraFleur i am right?
@@cfv0829 Yes that is the English version of the song not the word-for-word English translation of the Tagalog lyrics. But it still has somewhat the same core message, it just strikes you differently.
@@isaiah1332 yes, but the lyrics of the original has its own emotional message. it hits different.
Anak or child is the most successful filipino song in 70's and has different language version all over the world
it’s a version of the famous Filipino song called ‘Anak’ means ‘Child’ popularized by an Iconic Freddie Aguilar.
Not only popularized by Freddie Aguilar. He composed
The song is actually famous in many countries especially in the 90's with their own local version of it.. .so as in CHINA!
This song was made in the late 70s and became famous in many countries and translated in many languages during its released.
It’s a 1978 international hit with 55 versions in 26 languages.
I love the reaction of the guitarist he feels the the lyrics of the song
True, had you known the meaning of the lyrics, it will rip your heart apart. Imagine this song becoming an international hit during the time when internet and digital music were not a thing. ❤️😢
KZ hands down is the best singer to own any song she sings. And we are very proud of her, she brings the Filipino music worldwide with her own take and get you to really loving it to the end.
Waleska is on point without even knowing the English translation of the song. She felt it in her soul...
The title of the song is ANAK. it was originally sang and composed by legendary Freddie Aguilar. And it is considered as the best opm song ever written. The song was translated in different languages around the world.
In essence, this is a prodigal child's lament and atonement for transgessions committed against his parents....magnifico!
The song generated a hundred cover versions, was released in 56 countries and in 27 different foreign languages, and has sold 30 million copies.
Ferdinand Pascual Aguilar known as Freddie Aguilar or Ka Freddie Aguilar, wrote a song entitled “Anak” which talks about this kind of matter. Freddie Aguilar is a Filipino folk musician who composes eloquent songs that could capture ones minds and hearts because of its message. His song, “Anak” became popular for its enlightening meaning that everyone could relate to. This song won double platinum award weeks after it was released in the country. The song did not only become popular in the Philippines, but also in different parts of the world.
Freddie Aguilar did not only write “Anak” for others, but he also wrote this for himself as he could closely relate to it. When he was 18 years old, his father wanted him to be a lawyer, but he failed to acknowledge his father’s expectation for he left their home. He took a trip to faraway places alongside with only his guitar. Without having the guidance of his parents, he became addicted to gambling. After this, he realized his mistakes and decided to compose the song “Anak” for his parents as a way of asking for forgiveness. His parents welcomed Freddie home even after he disobeyed them. They also became closer after his parents read the lyrics of the classic song.
Ka Freddie’s song, “Anak” did not only become popular because of its wonderful melody, but it was also known for its lyrics that articulate about family values. The message of this song is nearly identical to The Parable of The Prodigal Son. It’s about the everlasting love of parents to their children even in the moments wherein they are being disobeyed or rebelled against. The lesson of the song is no matter how much we push away our parents because of our obscure reasoning, we will always end up running back to them. Our parents will always be our home; our only companion in this world full of enemies. Hence, I do not believe in being independent because I know we will always be somehow dependent to our parents. Also, because I believe that they are the backbone of every decision and actions that we do.
I recommend Freddie Aguilar’s song, “Anak” to be heard by the youth today. This is for the reason that most of the youngsters today tend to get their influences from modern media and they are not often supervised with it. As a result, some forgets to value and give respect to adults and to their parents. So as they listen to the song, they may cultivate lessons from it and apply it to their lives. Lastly, as they listen to Ka Freddie’s “Anak” they would learn how to value more their parents and realize the greatest love their fathers and mothers are giving to them that started ever since they were born.
Listen and sing along with this extraordinary OPM classic song!
Very well said

This is my most requested song in all of my comments since you showed up the KZ tandingan performances. Finally! Thank you guys!
It's a winning piece of Freddie aguilar and was translated in different languages. Mandarin, japanese and more.
Yah...you love KZ that's why we love you too..
The song hit me to the core I was crying from start to finish. As a parent I am in the same predicament right now, hence the emotions. KZ always deliver I love her so much❤️
Waleska, you're the Jolina version of UK.
Jolina is a filipina singer, host, & actress of the Philippines who likes that kind of style with colorful accessories.
Ikr. With those 🦋 butterflies and hairstyle. 😅😁
Hi to both of you Waleska and Efra😘🇯🇵🇵🇭watching from Japan😚
Thanks efra and weleska for your wonderful comment. I love to watch u both I am a fan of kz and u as well.
I almost cry!! Oh my godness!! Wow this is unexplicable talent..
It' s a song for a prodigal child... Who ignored, disrespect their parents but eventually realised how important their parents are but it's too late.😭
It's like we're busy growing up.but forgetting that our parents are getting old..😭🥺😢
The fact that you can appreciate the depth of music whose language you don’t understand shows me how knowledgeable and open minded you guys are. Thank you.
This song tells the story of the deepest pain parents go through when their child has gone astray.
💙💙💙 Thanks for the guy's review! Was so spot on!! 💙💙
The original title is ANAK (search lyrics using this) by Freddie Aguilar, a folk singer very popular in the 70's. He is still regarded as a legend.
This performance is a magic ❤❤👍
a very iconic song! its like a pandemic, it spreaded to asia and all the way to germany
this is the legendary "ANAK" song by national artist freddy aguilar! thank you for this wonderful reaction to kz! god bless you my friend!
ANAK is a classic song by Freddie Aguilar and was translated in different languages.
On point observation Waleska, without understanding the lyrics👌.
This is the best rendition ever! My oldest daughter sang this song for her graduation from The High School of the Performing Arts, thats why I've always loved this piece. You say it' haunting---- very much so. Even when you can't understand, she is so emotionally connected with the piece. One cries, me included, just with the first minute. Incidentally, "Anak" is My Child. Smb
Literal lyric’s translation - she was singing/ saying, “in your mind, you regret what you did, because YOU MADE A MISTAKE= IKA’Y NAGKAMALI. The theme of the song revolves around a very emotional interaction between a child and parents. Waleska’s instictive analysis is about 95 % accurate most of the time. BTW Tagalog place tremendous emphasis on every single Vowels of each word ie.. AkO Ay pIlIpInO= I’m Filipino.
A= Ahhh E= Ehhhhh I= Eeeeeee O= Ohhhhh U=Oooooooo. 1) AkO= Ahhhh kOhhhhh = me, I am . 2) hIndI= heeeen deeee = No. 3) Oo = Ohhh Ohhhh= yes.
I hope these helps🇵🇭.
it's a song that would truly rip your heart out once you learned what the song is all about...
There is a Spanish singer who sang this song in a spanish interpretation. He sung it so emotional as well. Whatever language this song has been interpreted and sung with, still so emotional. Indeed, its a universal song by every parent and child in this planet world ❣️
May favorite by kz.
I watched it a lot of times, but every time I watch it, my throat is tightening still. Its very emotional song.
I thought you will not ever react to this Anak version of KZ. Watched this as soon as i woke up LOL! I love this version of hers. There are other KZ songs that you havent reacted yet which to me are as amazing as this track. KZ's version of TADHANA (by UDD) on the Wish Bus is also aaawesome! (pls turn on the english captions when you react to this).
I know I'm late, but gosh..."When you're begging to be forgiven..." as she said, it really is what the song was about and KZ did really well conveying that message of the song even when they understood neither of the languages.
The actual title of the song is "Anak". It is a classic Filipino song by Freddie Aguilar. KZ just made her version of the song with Chinese lyrics.
Wow thankyou.for your reaction.waleska and efra ..im waiting for this..and i.hope the last perform kz the title "See You again.."thankyou guyz

I believe there is a spanish version of that song. "ANAK" is the tagalog name of that song. It was a very popular song way back 19 tralala and a lot of countries covered that song in their own languages.
I like how Efra gave his reaction thoughts, really comes from the heart. If it comes from the heart, it must be genuine and highly intellectual (EQ)❤️❤️❤️
Wow ,amazing👍👍❤

Happy Mother's Day to all moms out there!!!! Love this song and the rendition.
Hi guys. Been you*re subsc. Lovr your reactions to our filipino singers. Kz was one of the contestants during that singing competitions. Sad to say she lost but she was invited to perform during the finals and she sang our famous filipino song ANAK. Sung by the original singer mr freddie aguilar. Thanks.
KZ is really great in song arrangement. SHE'S very talented!
You may also react to KZ's latest live performance of the song Marupok that won the grand prize in the 2021 Himig song writing competition. KZ's interpretation here is more aggressive and danceable. Good quality video.
Yes, "to be forgiven" ... your reactions and analysis are always so spot on and very in depth. I always learn more from you style of reaction. You were able to sense the message quite well. Thank you for your great take on this performance of KZ'. This is a beloved song by Freddie Aguilar .came out about two decades ago and has been translated into many languages - "Anak" or "Child"
Waleska seems to burst with emotion even though she doesn't know yet the meaning of the song, but just by the delivery of KZ.How much more if she had fully understand the meaning of the lyrics.I find her so beautiful to watch 😍😊😏
It is a very iconic song, original pilipino music entitled "ANAK" means Child, sung by a very iconic filipino artist Mr. Freddie Aguilar. 🇵🇭
"Anak" - child/son/daughter
Originally Composed and Sung by Freddie Aguilar
Been translated in many different languages
Talks about the joy and hardship of having a child and what a child goes through in life as he or she grows.
I love Waleska’s face reaction and is out of words after watching it, I love it so real an epic!! Bravo! Guys!
Anak is a remnant of the golden age of Filipino modern culture. It crossed over oceans, having translations in multiple Asian languages. To the point that in each country, it's considered a "classic" hit. And as beautiful as KZ's rendition is, there was something soul-shattering about the way Freddie Aguilar sang this song, the same way a parent said something that made you suddenly shameful of what you have been doing with your life.
This song became so famous, singers all over the world made their own rendition of this and in different languages too. This song talks about the sacrifices and love of one's parents to his/her child. What fitting song this Mother's Day. Happy Mothers Day to your Mom guys. 😊
All kz cover songs are remarkable, unbelievable all the good adjective she got it all thats my kz thank you waleska and efra you both amazing and natural and good about music we love you muah
Wow! Finally my request is granted, been waiting for your reactions to KZ's performance on "Anak". Thank you and I love your reactions, truly appreciate it, keep on and hope you'll react to KZ's See You Again performance still in China. thank you and power on!:-)
Love ur reaction waleska esp. To efra.. Love you both..
yehey finally!!! this is indeed a very emotional song, and KZ gave justice to it because she is a powerhouse singer that when she sings you could really feel the emotions and the story telling in it.....I hope you could also check El Gamma Penumbra's "Anak" their perfomance made me teary..they used KZ's performance to reenact it using a shadow play..
If I remember correctly, "Anak", is based on Freddie Aguilar's own personal experience. The song came out in the late 1970's(?) and became an international hit translated to other languages.
Like your looks Waleska... so cool and gorgeous... 💐💖💗💝
Yeah the last part pretty much summed up in terms of emotion - extreme regret , realizing that you were wrong but somehow - you can’t undo it. It ended in the note of regret.
Awesome rendition of that song🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭
You guyz are a great reactors, you arent just reacting to a particular content but you digs deeper . I love you guys.
It's Anak. It's a Filipino song. It's very popular during the day... They made different versions of this song.
Wale and Efra, what an impressive thoughts. Brilliant.

Yes Waleska Herrera that song could rip your heart and please don't cry coz it might ruin your make up which looks so GREAT on you today. I always wait for you look and by far, this is the best!
when music defies language--- that's the power of Freddie Aguilar's "Anak"....and KZ's rendition here was so moving even in two languages.
the name of the song is ANAK " My child " get the song on this nameso emotional because it is about a child lost from drugs and parents was so sad .
I had a goosebumps! KZ wow!
That is so classic song and interpreted around the world ; Japan ; Korea etc
GOOSEBUMPS!!!
A child who disregarded, own parents. Who raised them. Forgotten them. Been to many bad experiences in lives. Now remembers them. Realizes the elders importance. Just like that.
Watch the performance of the penumbra done in China the background music is anak by kz. China got talent
This is just awesome, that was very intuitive of Waleska, getting a sense of what the song's about without looking at the lyrics first. Yes, the song is heartbreaking..
Awesome amazing she sing this song into two languages Chinese and Tagalog she is incredible amazing performance very talented Filipino are so talented
I love Efra's reaction. Hahaha.... seems like you are being tickled. Hahaha..

Every time I hear or listen to this song, it makes me so emotional 😭
Fun fact: the original song is Anak (Child, or in gender specifically Son or Daughter) by Freddie Aguilar. It is translated into 27 language.
Check it out the spanish version
Waleska sobrang ganda mo ikaw lang pinapanood ko, sayo lang ako naka focus hehe
ANAK is a Filipino song by Freddie Aguilar. It is translated in 27 languages and well known in Asia. It has several versions in different Chinese dialects so they are familiar with this song. Freddie Aguilar left home at 18 against his parents advise and pursue his music. His father wanted him to be a lawyer. 5 years later he wrote this song as an apology and reconciled with his parents.
What i love most in this performance is the climax at 11:29 to 11:36.. that arrangement gave it the most heart, imho.. most of the song's impact for me came from that bit when KZ kept saying "Ika'y nagkamali, mali, mali, mali!" (You were wrong, so wrong, so very wrong!) to the child who despised his parents after he became a grownup. I feel like it brought home the message of the song... broke my heart a little..
I have waited for this reaction. Thank you, Waleska and Efra.
That song is so popular to the point that many singers from China, Korea,Japan and more countries made their own version and cover that song
