    Prior to all the sanding, soak in vinegar for 24 hours. Then scrub with scotch bright pad. Oil well. Then sand if needed

      @@DirtandRust very cool. we just have a small raised bed with tomatoes , peppers and onions. They are not even half the size of your stuff -up here in the north, lol!

    Sometimes I think the best thing to do is nothing. This knife has character, little oil and quit

    I have a pocket knife my grandpa gave me fifty years ago I need to clean-up, looks about the same shape of the one you started with; dirty but not catastrophic.

    Thanks for sharing this knife clean up.
    You might try using 'Happich' Semi chrome polish metal cleaner. It works great on blades & bolster. It's a lot less abrasive.

    I have this knife it’s a kutmaster I got it from a antique store I cleaned it up and tried to restore it the best I could

    May be a rare knife. Cannot find anything about that tang stamp. Any numbers stamped on the other blades tangs?
