China’s new crewed spacecraft is designed for lunar missions

After landing at the Dongfeng landing site, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, China, on 8 May 2020, at 05:49 UTC (13:49 local time), China’s new-generation crewed spacecraft was transported first to the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center and then to Beijing. According to Zhang Bainan, project leader of China’s manned space program, the spacecraft is designed for lunar missions.

No, it's not a race. China can't joint the ISS projects due to the US' deny.
China find their own way to develop space technologies. It's not about the competition, It's about the nation' need. The desire to develop space technology comes from inside, not outside.
