If you dont fully grasp what is going on you need to watch the Mortal Kombat 11 game story. This is a reimagined reboot of the franchise after Fire God Liu Kang completely reset the main continuity so what everyone thinks they know about Mortal Kombat 1 the original story was in a previous timeline. What they are going for now is a completely original story with the original characters completely reimagined
I know some people can do without the heavy violence and gore. Which is fine. And Obviously, MK is so much more (especially with the lore and such), but the heavy gore & violence is the staple of MK ever since the very first one. There’s a reason why different fighting games are made for different target audiences. But I get some liking the characters and the story/lore and wanting MK to tone it down. Which they obviously won’t since it’s a staple of theirs. Lol
I play for the story too but I definitely agree with you and I don't think MK should tone down the gore. It's what set them apart from other fighting games in the 90's.
Your right, it's not a re-imagination of the 1st game like you initially thought. The timeline was reset and it's a new era. You can read about the ending of mortal kombat 11 to get a better perspective of this reveal trailer
If you don’t like the violence its not a game for you. That’s what Mortal Kombat has always been 😂 like why even watch the trailer of you are going to cry about it
Liu Kang fused with Raiden and became a god. Also, Mileena is Kitana's clone with tarkatan DNA (like Baraka). Mileena was casted by Sisi Stringer, a black actress, in the 2021 movie, though Jade and Tanya are black Edinians from where Kitana is born.
At the end of MK11, Fire God Liu Kang, who's in this trailer, defeated Kronika and created a new universe. It's a soft reboot of the franchise so this is a continuation and a clean slate.
The ending of Mortal Kombat 11's campaign, raiden gave up his position of god of thunder to Liu kang and also the power to control time(i guess), and now he reset the universe from the beginning. Correct me if im wrong somewhere but thats what I think.
4:54 - You can turn off the blood violence in the early Mortal Kombat games. 6:00 - I watched my brother play Resident Evil 2 because I was invested in the storyline, but I dun play the game myself too.
In fact MK 1 is a sequel of MK 11 (MK12) because at the end of MK 11, Liu Kang became a Fire God and Raiden a human. Then Liu Kang recreated all the world with peace but devil thing happen in MK 1.For sure this game have the best story mode than the other because also there are so many personnal "dialog" between characters and the trilogie of MK9/10/11 was really good. Pretty sure they used Unreal Engin 5 + Metahuman for making this game. Can't wait a gameplay of the new game.
Its 1 because this is a start tona brand new timeline. As Lu said. An empty canvus meaning many characters probably wont be acting like they normally do because they technically arnt those characters anymore.
It's actually the sequel to aftermath it is called 1 because liu kang resets the timeline so it makes perfect sense that raiden is not a god anymore and the timeline is different.
Basically, it is kind of a continuation of MK 11. In the last game, Liu Kang becomes a Fire God by beating the Time Goddess and "restart" the timeline. So this MK 1 is basically the remake of the first storyline BUT with Liu Kang as God of this universe. So probably a lot of differences, while keeping the skeleton of the original story as similar
That's not Raiden but Liu Kang. In Mortal Kombat 11, Raiden transfers powers to Liu Kang and he's the new God with the power of ice and fire. Hence the fire and ice dragons. And this is a reset universe at the end of Mortal Kombat 11 that probably he created.
The reason its called mortal kombat 1 is because lui kang reset the timeline in mk11. Hence the name mk1 It serves a dual purpose. A soft-soft reboot the entire franchise AND because lui kang reset the timeline so this is his first attempt at a new one Im the original mortal kombat, the mortal kombat tournament was created to give the other realms a chancd at defending themselves against shao khan completely taking them over. I suspect in this timelime Lui Kang will create the "first" mortal kombat tournament to fight off either shang tsung or shao khan again, BUT i highly suspect Onaga having a huge part to play in this plot since he is the only one who can challene Lui Kang at this point.
Looking forward to this reboot! So glad that they kept Fire God Liu Kang! Hopefully this game will fix the mistakes that the studio made with both Mortal Kombat 10 and Mortal Kombat 11! Regardless, enjoyed the reaction! 🙏🏽💪
At the end of MK11, Raiden fused with evil Liu Kang and the deceased body of a past Liu Kang, beats the final boss and because time was rewound so far back, "Fire God" Liu Kang has to create a new timeline, so MK1 is a complete reset with probably quite a few changes here and there.
At the end of Mortal Kombat 11 Raiden gives Lui Kang his god power and he becomes Fire God Lui Kang and he defeats Kronika and uses her hourglass to reset the universe.
It’s both a sequel and a reboot at the same time. It’s continuing on from how the story of MK11 ended (hence why Fire God Liu Kang is here), but it’s a brand new reality that FGLK has created and the history is being restarted
The main villian of MK11 reset the timeline with the hourglass, but in the last chapter of MK11, Raiden and Liu Kang accended into other and Liu kang became a God of Thunder and Fire, so he beat Kronika, and he took the matter of time in his hands and rebuilt the entire universe in a way where there's no Shao Kahn, no Shinnok and no Kronika (I'm guessing)
Revisiting of Mortal Kombat 1 was Mortal Kombat aka Mortal Kombat 9 ;) This is continuation of MK11 story - it is Mortal Kombat 1 - in the Liu Kang god of Fire and Thunder reality :)

This is a follow up of the last game where there was time travel and Liu Kang becomes a god who reset the universe in the aftermath.
Damn..this dude is a real 🐱...i see the lady playing this while the dude bi*ch behind 😂
Context: they rebooted the timeline in the last game . Even though it’s called mortal Kombat 1, it’s a sequel to mortal kombat 11.
It's what set them apart from other fighting games in the 90's.
mortal kombat is essentially brutal, thats the heart of this game
In the last game, Liu Kang became a god and the timeline was reset
Your right, it's not a re-imagination of the 1st game like you initially thought. The timeline was reset and it's a new era. You can read about the ending of mortal kombat 11 to get a better perspective of this reveal trailer
The trailer has total sense when u see the beautiful peace world then came from other world the Mortal Kombat gore on contrast. Very clever !!!
Love that it continues yet rebooted
If you don’t like the violence its not a game for you. That’s what Mortal Kombat has always been 😂 like why even watch the trailer of you are going to cry about it
😭
I'm here to show you guy's love, big fan of Mk series too.
❤👍🏼😁👍🏼
Liu Kang fused with Raiden and became a god. Also, Mileena is Kitana's clone with tarkatan DNA (like Baraka). Mileena was casted by Sisi Stringer, a black actress, in the 2021 movie, though Jade and Tanya are black Edinians from where Kitana is born.
When u think its sequel and its just the first game of the series. Hats off to ed boom❤
For Star Trek fans, it's the Kelvin Timeline of Mortal Kombat.
At the end of MK11, Fire God Liu Kang, who's in this trailer, defeated Kronika and created a new universe. It's a soft reboot of the franchise so this is a continuation and a clean slate.
Exactly
I love how Lui Kang is talking like a true god
The ending of Mortal Kombat 11's campaign, raiden gave up his position of god of thunder to Liu kang and also the power to control time(i guess), and now he reset the universe from the beginning. Correct me if im wrong somewhere but thats what I think.
4:54 - You can turn off the blood violence in the early Mortal Kombat games.
6:00 - I watched my brother play Resident Evil 2 because I was invested in the storyline, but I dun play the game myself too.
it's actually the new beginning after the winning of Liu Kang at the end of 11. cuz he reset the timeline expecting it to be different.
Liu Kang and Raiden merged in MORTAL COMBAT 11 and he became FIRE GOD LIU KANG. This story is the continuity of MORTAL COMBAT 11.
OMG EVERYTHING LOOKS GREAT!!!!! IM ESPECIALLY EXCITED FOR THE SISTERS KITANA AND THE PINK ONE
MK11 Raiden gives Liu his powers, Liu then becomes the Fire God Liu Kang.
The last one brutality was by "fire god liu kang." That was shao kahn not shao khan, you were talking about
The reason its called mortal kombat 1 is because lui kang reset the timeline in mk11. Hence the name mk1
It serves a dual purpose. A soft-soft reboot the entire franchise AND because lui kang reset the timeline so this is his first attempt at a new one
Im the original mortal kombat, the mortal kombat tournament was created to give the other realms a chancd at defending themselves against shao khan completely taking them over. I suspect in this timelime Lui Kang will create the "first" mortal kombat tournament to fight off either shang tsung or shao khan again, BUT i highly suspect Onaga having a huge part to play in this plot since he is the only one who can challene Lui Kang at this point.
Jaby you are wrong it’s a continuation to Mortal Kombat 11. Your not looking at enough information.
This is basically a retcon to the events of MK11.
This game while titled as "1" is a direct sequel to MK11's ending
The one reaction I was waiting for 💪🏾
Dude , I think it is a continuation of the MK11.Liu became fire god in mk11
Looking forward to this reboot! So glad that they kept Fire God Liu Kang! Hopefully this game will fix the mistakes that the studio made with both Mortal Kombat 10 and Mortal Kombat 11! Regardless, enjoyed the reaction! 🙏🏽💪
Liu Kang became God and restarted the timeline in Mortal Kombat 11.
So this is the new timeline after MK 11.
You need to play the story mode of Mortal Kombat 11 to understand this...
At the end of Mortal Kombat 11 Raiden gives Lui Kang his god power and he becomes Fire God Lui Kang and he defeats Kronika and uses her hourglass to reset the universe.
Its called MK1 because Liu Kang with unlimited power as a god made a new reality.
It’s a continuation after 11 when Liu Kang becomes a god and takes control of all the timelines
Jaby: I need a mortal kombat game made for me
Me: play street fighter
Seems pretty simple to create a setting within the game that turns the gore on and off. Perhaps you should write to them Jaby lol
It’s both a sequel and a reboot at the same time. It’s continuing on from how the story of MK11 ended (hence why Fire God Liu Kang is here), but it’s a brand new reality that FGLK has created and the history is being restarted
Oh and that's Liu Kang, not Raiden. The one with the hat is Kung Lao. He became Fire God Liu Kang at the end of Mortal Kombat 11
You need to be a fan and actually know what’s going on in the story to understand. You can’t just jump in
Timeline was reseted after kronika and lui kang took over raidens place as a fire god
It's a complete reboot, new game mechanics and everything
I've been playing Mortal Kombat since I was 6 bro. This is normal to me 😂
The 1st Mortal Kombat game was the reason for the game rating board to be created.
It's funny how Achara is complaining about the actors not looking Asian when she doesn't even look that Asian herself
Revisiting of Mortal Kombat 1 was Mortal Kombat aka Mortal Kombat 9 ;) This is continuation of MK11 story - it is Mortal Kombat 1 - in the Liu Kang god of Fire and Thunder reality :)
You are completely wrong play mortal kombat eleven and you will understand where this game is going
Really shows how many people didn't bother playing Aftermath.
YOU NEED TO SEE THE ENTIRE STORY OF MK 11 TO UNDERSTAND THIS TRAILER
Why did y'all blurr out the fatalities??
To be fair they did release a no blood option, but I understand his point of view as excessive violence
Trailer reactions w/o listening to the actual narration then asking WhAtz GoInG On!?! lol.
