    Such busy bees!! Doesn't it always seem that you run out of day before you run out of work? That's how it goes around here any way. Mr. Danny, you do some awesome work. I know Miss Wanda is blessed to have a man that is so talented and takes such good care of her. I think you're pretty blessed too, she seems a wonderful person. Y'all take care and take a little time to revel in all that you have accomplished. You do deserve a break once in a while. Enjoy each other and God's blessings. Love to you both.

    I said when he was building the ponds to put in over flow pipe/ spill ways... Well better late than never... Glad he's doing it. Now Dont be forgetting the rip rap stone in the front of that pipe or the race way.( down hill side of the spill way to slow erosion.) Looks good great job DSH

    Ya know as we watched you doing this job I just couldn't figure how that was going to work right, setting the pipe right on the ground. Even as you were covering it I said to my husband "I don't see how that's going to work, but there's always a method to Danny's madness so we'll see". Of course there was and it looks perfect, nicely done!👍💝

    I was wondering when the pond was built why a spillway to stop it from over filling , wasn't created just like you did here. Now i see and understand the ground had to settle first so that it would be stable. Thanks for this video

    Awesome video as always. Glad I found this one as we in the process of putting in about 100ft wide pond, but we don't know how deep yet because the earthwork guy said the depth will depend on the bedrock. They will stop digging when they hit the bedrock so we will see. I like to ask about not putting the culvert for spill way right a way to allow the dirt to settle, which I think it's a great idea so I like to ask how long did you wait and while waiting, were you not afraid of heavy rain came through and filled up the pond then start to break down the new pond wall causing erosion while you were waiting? Thank you.

    Hey....did you get a shot across your pond at your dock??? Looks a bit high for the overflow pipe!!....been doing this stuff over 45 yrs. ....looks like you need to be about a foot deeper!.....I doubt if that pond will ever get that high....but it's better to error on the side of caution!....

    • @DeepSouthHomestead

      Yes the fill line was shot around the whole pond. Pier is out of the water around 18 inches.

    What grass seed did you use?

    • @DeepSouthHomestead
      @DeepSouthHomestead  3 года назад +1

      A mixture of rye grass to come up quick. Red crimson clover to reseed every year. Plus it is a nitrogen fixer for the other grass. Then bahaylia grass not sure that's spelled right. A very strong and drought resistant grass.
