An update video on the Buzzing Noisy Marantz fix I did about a year ago
Also using some rubber grommets to absorb any other slight noise
This could be a tape washer etc
that might be amplified on the fixing plate and under plate of receiver.
You could try this fix on most Amplifier, Receivers, Cd players etc

My Yamaha TX-500 tuner transformer hums.
I've put a thin rubber pad between the mounting plate and the rear panel of the tuner, which helped a bit and also some glue on the transformer plates but I think it really needs to have the plates clamped together.

Clamping might do the trick, with maybe some thinner glue to penetrate deeper between the fins. The noise can be quite annoying during quite pieces

      Many thanks.
      Yes it can be annoying.
I used a really old-school analogue Dual tuner CT-1150 for now as that doesn't hum.

Hello, is there a specific type of epoxy resin and varnish you use and recommend? Brand name/type perhaps?

No I think any decent poxy resin will do if the top / sides or bottom is causing the buzzing. But if you can see gaps in the blades then use any decent varnish as this will be thiner to go between the blades, then let that dry and use epoxy for the casing.

Hi, I’m a subscriber. My class A amp, (adcom gfa5802) just recently developed a slight buzzing hum on the left channel. Do you think the filter capacitors for the left channel are bad? I checked the DC voltage at the speaker terminals and they’re at 0.025V, so I think the coupling capacitors are fine. Or do you think it’s something else? Thanks in advance.

The adcom gfa5802 is some beast and TBH probebly a bit beyond me, could be a filter cap, but I would check to make sure they are still connecting to their board as they should and not come loose or even come away from the track a little, maybe more them about while amp is on, but be careful not to hard yourself. Could be a grounding problem, check or change cable, make sure amp is not to near other units or electrical units. Failing all that then change the supply caps.

I replaced the buzzy transformer in a brand new LP140 turntable with a toroid

Hi, my Desktop power supply (new) has the same sounds it is under the warranty and sticker on screw. Any suggestions? Thank you.

I would try and return the unit as once undone there might not be any guarantee of fixing it, other than that then taking apart might be the only option

Mine is buzzing louder and not turning on. Any hopes?

    • @MichaelYates
      @MichaelYates  Год назад

If not turning on, then check if you are getting any voltage across outputs from transformer, if so might be worth trying completely taking transformer apart, cleaning fins and re gluing using varnish
