I think the hiding of following count is a good move, it’ll hopefully stop the follow/follow back mentality and low effort photos just for engagement. I know it’s not avoidable but i really hope it doesn’t get flooded with ai “photography” like we are seeing with all the other social media.
Hi! Absolutely. That's a great point, Bab! I must say they do have an entire category for AI but hopefully they'll do their best to compartmentalize it there and avoid it from spilling out. Are there any features in particular you'd like for them to implement? If so: what are they? Please share! They're reading!
@@FranciscoAlvarezTV yes I saw the ai categories on your video, hopefully ppl posting ai will be honest in using it, we shall see as currently there’s a lot of bad actors. It’s a difficult one as the tech as it currently stands is not there yet to flag ai with certainty, image analysers are useless and often produce negative positives on the most innocent of things such photo filters applied or even use of motion blur and other in camera creative techniques triggers positives. Hard to say what features id like as haven’t had the chance to use the app yet, waiting patiently for the public release. But I think in essence we photographers and artists just want a place to be able to share and connect, we’ve been let down repeatedly by social media so far.
@@BabibRodent it will be tough to flag anything that was made with artificial intelligence on any platform. I am hoping that those who use artificial intelligence to create anything let alone a photograph, will be honest and forthcoming in their endeavors. I couldn’t have said it better myself. This has the makings of a wonderful, community driven environment. Crossing my fingers!

It sure does. I've been on it for a month and love where it's heading. I actually got the founders to watch this video and they're keeping up with the comments. As a result, what are features you'd love to see in future updates? This is your chance to be heard!
When this app only shows images from the people you follow, how would this app achieve organic growth for the photographer? This is actually one of the largest complaints I hear in my photographic community about Instagram, just after the lack of focus on photographic images.
While I would love to see a successful Instagram alternative, when this will end up as an app by photographers for photographers, I feel the application will be rather limited, and might struggle to gain the attention of the broader public.
I would loved it if you had addressed these issues in your video.
@@Lenaco that’s a great question, but one that can only be addressed by the programming and creation team. It’s not mine to make therefore I’m I wasn’t in a position to speak on it. I can perhaps suggest having the categories serve as a starting point for deep diving into those topics that pique your attention.
Is the all available yet?
The private Beta was launched about two months ago and unfortunately closed on June 12th. The PUBLIC beta, however, will be launched here in about two weeks now (it's been about a week since they said 3) so stay tuned for that. The creators are actually in tune with this video as they've been made aware it exists so now would be a good time to let them know what it is you'd like to see in the Foto app. You can comment here or on the pinned post I made available to you.
