The name JEATH is derived from countries engaged in the WWII death railway construction from 1942 to 1945: Japan, England, America, Australia, Thailand and Holland. Of course there were also lots of Thais, Malays, Chinese, Indians etc who lost their lives building this railway.
@@NDTViThailand : Thanks for posting both you videos on Kanchanburi. I agree - everyone with any interest in the story of the railway should take a trip to Hellfire Pass.
Truly a very interesting video,Nick.would be eerie standing on the pass, just thinking of those poor guys that lost their lives there, how far from Pattaya is that Nick.
Hi Gas, thanks for your comment. Very eery and very hot, way hotter than Pattaya. The car was giving a temperature of 42c and this was rising the further we got towards Kanchanaburi. Depends on traffic through Bangkok but it took 4.5 hours to get there from Pattaya and then 5.5 hours on the way back. Hellfire Pass is a further 80 kilometres from Kanchanaburi. My great uncle i found out is buried in Rangoon, Myanmar. I still want to go but I'll fly in from Bangkok on my next trip.
Alright Nick, this was a great and very touching video. Very respectful to all our boys who suffered so much there. And this Carfonju character here - when we call him a cretin, don't forget that we use the French pronunciation so it rhymes with "potato au gratin". It's only Carfonju and a few other muppets who are at that level. And that's really saying something
Btw I only found your channel recently and am working my way back through your treasure trove of videos. I'm retiring to Jomtien next year and your Assienda bar looks like it's right up my strasse, so I'll be frequenting for sure in late 2022

Excuse me. I think you need to learn how to write and grammar before commenting.
