QB, please make this video an annual tradition. It would be great to see a summary every year of how the presented prices increase/decrease according to WG
I do NOT want to know how much money I spent on this game during the last 12 years :D . I would question the financial sense of my life so far as well as my sanity :D
Well I agree with you because I remember back somewhere around 2015 I begged my parents for the credit card so that I could buy the e25 before they would never sell it again and I had to get it in the pack which was like five or six different premium tanks as a bundle for like $200. And then on top of that I was probably doing like $20 a month for gold or something else for a while and then the Christmas boxes. And yeah it's probably thousands
I think WG has got 10 or maybe 15 bucks at the most out of me over the 10 years I have been playing. None in the last 8 for sure. All I ever bought was small amounts of premium time on a heavy discount. Even that felt like such a waste I didn't last long doing it.
One big caveat on the gold from lootbox item is that if you are not a collector the value from gaining gold is less because you will be getting the new tanks and not their gold value to start with.
I only buy the loot boxes at christmas. I spend $100 bucks and use my gold to buy premium account when it goes on sale. I stopped paying $50 for individual premium tanks years ago. I'm a 10 year vet, Ive spent about $1.5k over that time. Sounds silly for a video game but consider this; everyone has a hobby, whether its skiing, collecting wine or go karting. You'd spend that money anyway.
@@MUAZFIRDAUSBINMOHAMMADAIDIL in this context yes, but usually you use the abbreviation 'vet' for 'veterinarian', as in: "I'm gonna take my dog to the vet."
One small thing I think is worth pointing out for the Econo and Whale player: 250 Loot boxes should get at least 169 days of premium, and three full battle passes should provide an extra 207 days of premium. plus any premium from the two special passes. so those players can reduce their costs slightly by not actually needing to purchase a premium day.
@@Skerrry What. The max you could get is 26k a year and even then as QB says you'd have to pretty much play nonstop just to get 500 a single week, it's just not reasonable.
Yeah my bad, I brain farted and thought it was 2000/week instead of month. You can still buy a whole year of premium with that gold though. And 100 battles each week is not even close to nonstop or unreasonable. There are plenty of people who play a lot more than that. @@frogmad
When i came back to the game i got a free month of wot + first week i made the 500 gold easy.2nd week i went away for work and made 300, other weeks i made the 500 cap easy. I then paid for it for 2 months. After i got the loot boxes i evaluated all the stuff i got fromloot boxes and wot+ and what i did or did not value, and at the end of the day, id rather not have it and get my gold through loot boxes, as its still an expensive way to get gold with Wot+. I get much more value and enjoyment from the Premium time which i have optimised now through Xmas boxes and the three battle pass seasons i intend to buy next year with my Xmas loot gold.
Christmas 2020 when I was introduced to the game I spent just over £300 on large boxes and since then I have never ran out of premium days since as every xmas I get a certain amount of large boxes every year, this year I spent £177 and i still have well over a year worth of premium. I mostly get 14k gold a month when i'm low. I don't drink or smoke so this is my only vice and i'm quite happy doing it.
Starting an EU account and playing for free really is a lot tougher than it looks if you have all those premiums on another account. You know which ones you like and which ones are good credit makers, so it makes it tough when you know you have to miss out on it. Makes the grind much more annoying and makes it feel a lot longer.
he talks it's easy, because play it as a job, and get marathon tanks, and have time to complet all events, Normal free to players, play about 1h a day, cant make all of this, and get that account he have on his "free to play" It's just unreallistic...
@@Fales2 Tbh, I play for free, roughtly 5-6 hours per week and still manage to take part in most events. I get tire 8 premiums from the Bond store - currently I have KV-5, Guard, Lorraine 40t and Obsidian (from Mirny event). I think I will get Liberte or Patriot next and that would be it for me. So making credits is not impossible for a free to play not-full-time-job player
It is hard when u first start but after u get few premiums for bonds or some events it is not that hard just make sure when u have premium that u play your premium tanks to make money
@@Fales2 I started and account as free to play too, and I agree it's a grind. I've actually put it t one side for a while as it was frustrating, but I expect I'll come bask to it. If you see "The_Plucky_Brit" online, that's be me grinding it out 🙂
I bought bourr and elc even and Russian version of Churchill for 3 euros lol, in 10 years of playing, I told myself I would never buy anything but these 2 were too good to miss.
I've been playing for 10 years now. There has been a lot of years I didn't play much. But I all ways played with premium. But what I spent thousands on was premium tanks and later on just paying to skip the grind just paying for experience for tanks. But just recently I realized that specials like Xmas boxes are the only way to go for gold and credits. I've been missing out all these years. P.S. I spent around 250 on Xmas boxes and ended up with 40k gold and all the new tanks not to mention the credits. Amazing.
I would die inside spending money on loot boxes, or WOT in general for that matter (or any in game purchases). But if you were going to buy stuff anyways, it isn't a bad way to do it I guess. I used to play in tournaments quite a bit and always used the gold hauls for prem. time and tanks. Now I just slug it out and try to make the most of the free days they give us peasants.
to be fair... WG is developing allot of new content, very often. You could spend the same ammount per month on drinks at the bar. Depends on what you want.
@@eniff2925 it is entertainment. Would spend money on a movie? Concert? Restaurant? Wouldn't it be sensible to watch "free" tv? Listen to "free" radio? Or buy cheap food from supermarket?
@@polo99a9 These people really think being competitive/having advantage in a video game is as valuable as watching good movies in cinema lol. Simply lacking in common sense.
I have spent money, but the fact that WOT Plus and Premium are different subscriptions is just ludicrous. Ad on all the battle passes and everything else, I had to break away and stop playing.
There was another way for purchase gold with a discount. You get sometimes a 30% coupons / Discounts for the premium shop. I used to buy the löwe every time i got this discount. You bought it with 30% discount but got the complete gold compension for the tank. Wg changed it a year ago so i dont know anymore how much i payed for 1 gold with this way.. but i am sure it was a good deal. Now you get only 70% of the gold value of the tank you buy this way.
i once got an exclusive offer from WG in which I could buy 2000 gold for only $0.99 (normally it costs about $10), that was the only time I spent some money in an online game so far.
Thanks QB, I Spent $200 bucks for the winter game, but your videos helped me manage that this is the GOLD to buy Battle Pass as well as JUST in CASE buys. I'm an ECO player
A lot of money if you are stupid enought to use the store in your region.. cheap if u do your research first. Paid 60€ for 370 boxes on eu last year. Premium time still serving me rn tho I bought some more boxes
And here is me being a free 2 play player... playing this game for 2 years now and yes I don't have all tanks in the game but i got some of the most competitive tanks(tier 9, 10)and equipped it with bond and bountry equipment with best crews and i enjoy as mush as any highly paid player😊😊😊
0:53 I play since 2014 and I disagree. Due to credit inflation (partly due to everyone getting free premium days) gold spamming became far more common, to the point of you being disadvantaged if not doing the same, even down at tier 5. And back when I started premium vehicles were mostly known for earning more credits, not dwarfing the tech tree tanks by being simply overpowered compared to them. It's not just the unstock grind and worse crews which causes first non-arty tank at tier 8 when sorting by WR to be at almost 100th position.* This is also same reason why MM contains less and less tech tree vehicles, especially at tier 8 - why bother playing a statistically worse vehicle being less able to afford spamming gold? I recall having problems with credits in 2014-2017 due to grinding many lines in parallel, but I also remember not having to load any gold ammo and staying competitive in a tech tree tank both against same tank and premium tanks of same tier. I would probably not stay with the game if it looked in 2014 like it looks today - now I can survive because I already have tier 8 premiums and I simply know the game well enough to play above average, but newbie me would be utterly crushed by gold spam and no-food distadvantage.
I've done this for the last few years now, buy around 200-300 boxes depending on what packages they have available. It then funds my entire year of world of tanks, prem days at 500+ gold at 150k, etc
Would consider myself between the Economy player and Whale. Been playing for 12 years (off/on), average player, have all tech tree researched. I spend $180 a year on loot boxes and get all the new tanks, 70k gold, over 150 premium days. With that gold I purchase all Battle Pass premium. Gaining more. All-in-all that is ALL I spend a year on the game and have most everything.
You used to be able to get way more premium time free, if and only if you played Warships as well. Missions in both games really added up. Once they changed the multi-game premium I stopped buying it as I play games as I feel like it and if I didn't feel like tanks for a few weeks, at least the premium time was still in warships for me and the other way around.
So I did a quick calculation based on QB stats to remove some of the double counting. A tank collector needs to buy 279 christmas boxes (240+25+11+3 = 302.78 pounds). Essentially you would have needed 134500 gold (everything except prem time) as a tank collector in addition to 383.16 pounds for the stuff that must be payed for in cash (Wot+ and all the box content excluding the 5 Christmas box tanks). This would take 251.8 christmas boxes (which gets you the 5 tanks as well 176 days of premium time). If you buy prem time in 30 day bundles then each additional box contains 6.41 days of premium (gold + premium time) which means you need an 26.6 boxes for a total of 278.4 boxes which rounds up to 279.
If we want to eliminate a bit more double counting. This years battlepass (improved+reward) gives enough premium time to supplement you up to a full year. With the gold from battlepass and Wot+ you would actually be below the 250 box mark. So unless you have to use the guarenteed vehicle mechanic all 5 times, than the single 240 box bundle would end up being sufficient to meet the tank collectors gold, premium and 5 Christmas tanks.
So you can actually request a report through WG/ie submit a ticket that will give you a spread sheet with every chat message you've sent and all purchases you've ever made. I was shocked at how much I've spent over the last decade +. Let's just say it's enough for a down payment on a decent mid size family saloon.
I've been strictly F2P for MANY years. What frustrates me is not so much the pay aspect (they gotta make money) but the level of disparity between tech tree and premium. And most of the premium vehicles you can earn for free can't compete with the ones you can only get with gold.
Sorry thats nonsense. Yes, the are diffetences in performance between prem tanks. But these are far less problematic in regards to earing credits than u make it. The prem tanks you can buy in the bond shop are fine.
Yeah, Just blow 100 bucks at Christmas and let that be it. The last time I did that it lasted me 18 or 20 months with all the extra days you get. In the last year I imagine you could stretch that to a full 2 years. But since I don't feel the desire to ruin my experience by grinding through tanks that are no fun to play, I just stick with the ones I do have fun with. And with all the blue prints I randomly get I've free-XPed up a few lines each year without any grinding. Play to have fun, not to get pixels. You'll have a much better experience.
You mention that you (of course) get gold from the boxes, but you don't mention that they also drop premium time which also reduces the amount you need to buy.
£1k a year: insane. I’m free to play and have no issues. I could up my winrate by a couple % if I spent money on the game. But who cares about that? I’m at about 53% right now so that’s fine with me
I think I spent money on WoT for the first time on this Holiday Ops. I got nearly 10k gold for 28 boxes + the calendar one. I got a Type 63 (yerk) and bought an ELC EVEN 90 with the rest. I think it's a nice reward for a whole FTP run on the game and intend to do the same next year !
I honestly forgot some of the tanks I picked up this year and had to go look. I apparently missed the last batch of waffen boxes because I didn't have any of those tanks. I did not get the 283 which still makes me mad. Thanks for the video QB!
Generally, the only thing I pay for is premium time. While I have bought 5 tanks over the last 10 years, they've always been on sale. The most I spent was during the Xmas sale two years ago when I splurged on the AMX 13 57, the Vanguard, and the Panzer V/IV. The Vanguard was the most expensive at about $15. Many years ago, I bought the Pz S35 for a few bucks, as well at the American T14 for about $5. I don't think I'll be buying any more tanks, even on sale.
@@imma5761 I don't play them any more than other tanks, so my stats are spread out. Thanks for worrying so much about it and taking the time to write. Btw, the reason most of them are lower tier is because I was never going to spend a lot. The highest tier I bought is the Vanguard (I don't think T8 is low tier, but like I said, after the shine wore off, I stopped playing it anymore than anything else). Btw, pride has nothing to do with my play. I bought them because I thought they'd be fun. Good stats don't pay the bills.
The difference is in the period the player plays. After a few years it is much easier and cheaper, when you accumulate everything. Be sure to buy at discounts and play every day, you can get premium days and other bonus equipment.
A big value of WOT+ is free movement of Bounty equipment. After 3 Battle Pass seasons I have 2 Bounty duplicates for 6 pieces of equipment. Using a equipment move modification I now have Bounty equipment on every tank, every slot!!
nice break dow ... but remember, when you are "collector" and started not long time ago with this, you easily can spend even more on the boxes to get the new tanks. you need far more boxes as you might need even more boxes as you have to have all other, recurring tanks to be sure to aquire the new ones... so never sell an unused old premium tank tier 8 or higher
I'm a tank nerd, that's why I started playing WoT 10+ years ago. $ is tight, so the only time I spend $ in WoT is on the Holiday Boxes, probably same for many. But if WG wants me to spend more on Holiday boxes, like QB says - best time to get gold for premium days, then they better fix their tank balance (nerf those OP prems like BZ176, Bourrasque, leFH, etc.), and their MM (incl. player recent performance/winrate) so we don't keep getting miserable experience like constant 3-15,
Just spend 300€ on Xmas boxes and get yourself 2-3 Premium tanks that are full meta and good credit grinders per year. Use the gold for the battle passes and moving crews up tech trees. at 600€ you come out at 50€ per month. What others play on a fitness studio. You could reduce that to 15€ or 30€ per month as you like. It solely depends on you how much space you want to give WoT as a hobby in your life.
I am an Eco player, I get enough loot boxes to get all the tanks at Christmas. And that usually gives me a ton of premium also, and enough for the battle oasses through the year. I may do an assembly shop or auction vehcile here or there but not consistent.
I'm more in the economy player category. I buy the improved battle passes each season, and the extra chapter on occasion. I didn't get either of the ones this year since they didn't interest me at all. During the Waffentrager event, I usually spend about twenty dollars to get some crates, just to see if I get lucky. I've been pleasantly surprised by the WT boxes, because I've been getting almost double my money's worth in goods from them. The only other time that I spend money is the Christmas loot boxes, because me and a friend of mine gift them to each other. I would say on average, I spend about ~$270 a year on World of Tanks. However, the way I see it, I'm getting more worth from in-game goods than the money I spend... so it is a win-win to me. Also, WOT is the only online game I really spend money on besides Hunter: Call of the Wild.
Very interesting! To complement this study another interesting question would be how much it would cost to get a full (as full as one can get at this point) garage if one would by everything straight up from wargaming?
Though, I do agree with you on the Holiday Ops 4 Tanks, that you needed to only buy a maximum of 200 boxes to make sure you got all of them, the actual number would be 250, as the GSOR 1010 was included as well, and not everyone had that wheeled tank yet. Myself and a friend of mine is included in that. Though, funnily enough, I bought 28 boxes for my friend, and he was incredible lucky, getting 4 of 5 prem tanks from it, the only one he didn't get, was the Tiger-Maus. Though, for myself, I got myself a total of 188 boxes (160+28) and got all 5 premiums + a few of the new and old 3D skins (got both of the artillery 3D skins). But definetly, my friend got the best value out of the 28 boxes.
I got almost 80.000 gold out of my 188 boxes, sadly enough, I don't think of the future and have used up almost all the gold I got from the boxes already. Almost half of it went to convert to credits so I could buy the 2 million credit manuals for crew, because I wanted faster crew training.
Been playing since Beta in 2010, have all tech trees fully researched. Currently have 905 days of premium time from Christmas loot boxes, Normally don't put any money into the game unless I need to (spent $20 recently on the new German medium because I got tired of the grind for it) and spend $100 yearly on the Christmas loot boxes each year-this year I got all the new tanks and most of the cooler skins. Not a bad trade off or investment for a game I play an hour or two nearly every day.
I've spent a few hundred on this game over 12 years, I felt embarrassed that if others knew, they would think I'm crazy. Now we know the truth, there's a hell of a lot more crazier people than me.
I am now opening a notepad to keep track of what I spend on the game. If you were to make this an annual video, some viewers could submit their 'receipts' as a comparison
I'd be interested in a video talking about takeaways from World of Tanks when the game comes to an end. Is there a sensible way to get some value back from all time and funds invested into this decade long adventure? I think it would be good to have a discussion about a possible WoT 2, and the ways it would be possible for all long time players to have some of their legacy turned over to the new era. We see this theme is a hot topic a lot in long-running games, par example GTA Online which is also ancient by today's standard also has whole crowds wondering how all their progress, achievements, cars, and ingame money would see a place in the new GTA VI Online.
Hi @QuickyBaby nice video, I think you might have missed the fact that when an economy player buys boxes and participates in some of the events and collects some drops on twitch, you can easily get 365+ premium days. I buy 100E worth of boxes to get enough gold to buy 3x improved battlepass and 'cap out' on premium days. So for 100E I get a full year of premium, a few free Tier 8 tanks, all the bonusses from the boxes and improved battlepasses, and even some gold to spare
I don't know, WoT NA was pretty F2P when they gave out tier 8 rentals every week xD. Also it's super nice that you can buy premium tanks outright for bonds.
On my "for fun" account, I bought and E25, a T-34-3, and a Lt-432. (I don't think I paid full price for any of them, but can't remember exactly..) But even if I did, these are the 3 tanks that meet all my playing needs. E25 is the most fun tank in the game, because you can simply dominate - it's my best tank for carrying 14 bad teammates. T-34-3 is really weird, as it's not particulary a great tank. I think the beauty is, that because it's not a great tank, you have to relax and play smarter. It rewards you heavily for doing so. And doing well in a so-so tank is just rewarding. The Lt-432 is also super fun to play. Good speed. Good dpm. Good armor (for a light tank). - Thing is, I don't ever have to buy gold. I don't need premium days. I never grind. I don't care about the events, or getting goodies. Sure, there is a 'slow bit' at the front while you equip/train crew up. But really, that goes pretty darn fast. - At the end of the day, having these 3 tanks just allows me to log on, hit the battle button, and have fun driving tanks...
I bought Skorpion with gold and IS-5 from bond shop, and only play when events are happening like december period. I have 2 tier X, and 2 tier VIII, playing only on holidays for 4 years, and i am not complaining
I spent £85 on Loot boxes in 2019 and that was the last (significant) spend on this game. The premium I bought with the gold lasted 18 months. I now have 480 tanks in my garage including 137 premium/reward tanks and every single Tech Tree Tier 10. This year WG gave me an 89% discount on boxes and so I spent the 85p and got 4. Yesterday I decided to spend another £2.90 on 800 gold and that meant I had enough to buy 1 month of premium. By grinding credits I've made 30 Million this christmas.
If everyone plays for free, they would be out of business on the end. If you like the game and wanna support them, I think you have a wot premium account minimum. The rest is optional . With no support, there would be no content, no updates, and no developments. Just look at the random effects recently. How much time and money went into it. We spent the money, but you see where the money goes as there are always new tech tree tanks maps rebalanced etc....
The answer is simple - zero. However, before I bought some large boxes occasionally, it felt fair - as a donation to keep the servers running, bu this year they cost more, thus I'm buying none.
While he was going down the line of new premiums that were released in boxes I was like, wait I have those tanks, oh and those tanks too! Did I really buy all those boxes 😂😂
Pay has not adjudted for inflation yet. It will never. Do less with less. It was 3% every year for inflation. Now its 5% every year. Wait for the food contracts to come up for renewal and everything else. Expect jumps in prices of things. I do not have money to waist on games anymore.😢. I make 80k a year. Its like i lost 10k a year. Cities and states have not yet adjusted taxes yet. I expect to lose anther 5,000 in taxes a year..
You have to have the time to participate on the events. That's an important fact. You forgot Amazon Prime goodies. But I really liked this break down! Incredible expencive. I would consider myself to be a player who wants to have the economical advantages and from time to time a new premium tank, that a fair price I would say for a game I played the entire last year.
I feel like I am not the target group of WG. I only bought extended battle passes and loot boxes and everything else feels like a poor deal to me. I bought 50 boxes and got a tier9 premium (40-50€), 30d premium (10€) and 40-ish€ worth of gold. So I got ~100-110€ worth of content for 80€, not including all the other items. So why should I spend 40€ on a single vehicle?
That is pretty accurate. I pay for most everything since I don't play enough to grind jack. In 2023 I've spent $1,401.87. Sitting on 1,335 premium days and 166,380 gold as of this morning.
I bought the big lootbox package last year and the gold, premium days etc lasted all year. (i got extra premium days from event and battle pass) But i didn't get all the black market tanks etc. just the loot box tanks the improved battle pass tanks. other than that a lot of the gold went to purchase old premium tanks inside the in game store when they were sold for gold. So getting lootboxes for xmas is enough to play wot very comfortably. (dont even know if you need to get the big bundle)
I think that you should include 2 or maybe 3 premium tanks as an economy player. Good ones, because some freebies are terrible. ShPTK would count as a good one, but others not so much. So maybe thow an extra 40€ or so, but that wouldn't be a yearly thing, just a 1 time purchase, to grind credits faster. Everyone that plays with premium time all year and gets the battle passes does have premium tanks. I'd find it hard to believe that someone who falls in this category hasn't ever bought a premium tank. Although if you get the gold from christmas boxes he will have premium tanks just for that already
buying in-game content in argentinian prices will save you roughly 70% of the money you would've spent regularly. be careful though cause you might get banned if you use this method.
Great video QB some eye opening reveals on the cost and I will be changing the way I spend my small amounts of cash. At approx. 14:55 in the video a background screen shows a 3D styles advert with a chance to win one is set at 2% crazy odds. Going to set up a year sub at £41 that is a good saving for sure.👍
QB do not lie pls. I started playing the game in 2013 . I remember the event that gave me 1 day premium time for ( I don't remember exactly but let's say 5000 exp gained) this event was going on for months and actually this hooked me in the game. I developed my first account based on this. Second factor the game back then was better balanced or let's say much slower. You can still find some guides from back then ''How to farm with StuG III'' or ''Nashorn''. SO you did not need so many premium tanks at all, I got for some mission SU 100U in 2014 and this was my only prem tank for very long time.. So NO today the game is money grab.
Cost me nothing. Played from beta and quit like 10yrs ago. No competition when you got money your playing against. Game is one sided. Fix that so non paying players get matches against the same and id play again. That and the fact that people suck in this game with the crap they spew out of the mouths.
Also major note buying premium at black Friday providesfurther reduction to year of premium by 50% less so its only 12k gold gor the year so about £1.50 a month
As always free to play games are the most expensive ones ^^ Most painful for me personally is the amount of crews I have to throw away becuase I dont have enough space :(
Bought christmas boxes for 2 years. Got IS3A, GSOR TD. Thrn cant be arsed anymore Still got the gold leftover. Forgot how i got a kv 220 2 but i just play it for giggles now during Xmas ops so i dont lose credits spamming apcr
Free to play is not entirely free, you need a broadband account and the cost of running a gaming PC, albeit these are shared costs- but not inconsequential if you have fibre and a beast of a machine.
I'm a returning player. I bout 90 days prem like 5 months ago. N I have over a year now. Thats because of boxes but before boxes cane out I had over 200 days left
Im not sure if 360 days of premium is wort it. Most of the days I only have time to play like 5 battles. And if I know I have a lot of time, I purchase some premium time.
Honestly just get 80 boxes on christmas. That way you should be able to get like 40k Gold, which is neough to get all BP + marathons. Then you should get around 60d of premium + prem from BP and you should be fine for the year with around 100€
@QuickyBaby There are couple of flaws in the calculations of your Collector spendings. I have been in that boat for several years now, but I can tell, that if you are getting all the new tanks during the year and if you are always having the improved battle pass, then there is absolutely no need to buy any premium time. I have not bought a single day of Premium time for several years now, but they keep stacking up much faster then running out. Standing at almost 800 days now. Second thing, which is not needed - any "standalone" gold purchase. This year the gold income is higher then ever, so again - zero spendings for just the gold packages. And with the amount of lootbox events we have now through out the year, I guess gold will be the next thing which will start to stack up faster then one can spend it. (wisely of course ;)
I bought 160 boxes (275$can) and got 62 000 gold, 100 days of premium, all 5 premium tanks and over 8m in credits. 275$ for the whole year is kind of an amazing value considering most AAA cost as much as 80$ and barely last 30 hours.
Same here! Purchasing Christmas boxes are by far the best value for playing this game, assuming you don't want the free to play experience. For 160 boxes, I ended up with 74K gold, 73 premium days, 12m credits, and all the premium tanks. This funds all my premium days, battle passes, and then some. And as your tank collection grows, it's easier to resist the special tank promo events throughout the year. In fact, for the past year, I don't believe I spent anything else.
I bought the 60x4 bundle ($290/us) and that provided 151k gold, 155 days, 13.8m credits. Unfortunately you cannot spend all of that gold on the boxes that they'll now be releasing quarterly that will have the 'redraw prevention' meaning once you've drawn a particular vehicle it cannot be drawn again (i.e. converted to gold) which is what makes the Holiday Ops boxes the most efficient way of getting gold.
spent 100 euro, got all the tanks, 40k gold, 5mil credit, 50d prem. Worth the money imo, people were complaining about the lack of new tanks this year while Im here like " THAT A GOOD THING, MORE GOLD!"
QB, please make this video an annual tradition. It would be great to see a summary every year of how the presented prices increase/decrease according to WG

And yeah it's probably thousands
you can see all invoices in your profile. I summed my together and it was 3.4k eur. FML
I think WG has got 10 or maybe 15 bucks at the most out of me over the 10 years I have been playing. None in the last 8 for sure. All I ever bought was small amounts of premium time on a heavy discount. Even that felt like such a waste I didn't last long doing it.
@@rendzis Oof, that is a lot. It's wild that you can even spend that much, but I guess it adds up over time.
I'm in your boat, there... 100%!
One big caveat on the gold from lootbox item is that if you are not a collector the value from gaining gold is less because you will be getting the new tanks and not their gold value to start with.
Could you sell the vehicles to still get gold? Or do they sell for credits
@@steveyk.7099 Fairly sure it is credits or else they would not have to run the premium tank partial value swap event.
Not to mention the 100k gold they can get annually from the WoT+ subscription.
I got over 1000 days of premium days left :(
Starting an EU account and playing for free really is a lot tougher than it looks if you have all those premiums on another account. You know which ones you like and which ones are good credit makers, so it makes it tough when you know you have to miss out on it. Makes the grind much more annoying and makes it feel a lot longer.
he talks it's easy, because play it as a job, and get marathon tanks, and have time to complet all events,

I had this question on my mind and you made a whole video on it! Thanks.
Crazy when you consider how little they do to improve random battle mode. (the core game)
Hence why I won't spend money on it.
Hi QB, u have a safe and happy holidays and merry Christmas to u and the whole family.
Good job explaining a complicated game.
If a play to have fun. Than it is not this game I'm playing
@@eniff2925 yeah, the first few years I was all grind. Somewhere along the line I remembered the point of "play" is fun.

In my country, min wage is around 400 £, the median wage around 665 £ per month. Probably not too many tank collectors here :D
It's just become an over montanized game. Wot Plus existing alongside premium is ridiculous. Two subscriptions for one game? 😊
You really nought all lowtiers to stat pad in and you are proud of that
@@imma5761 I don't play them any more than other tanks, so my stats are spread out.
But if WG wants me to spend more on Holiday boxes, like QB says - best time to get gold for premium days, then they better fix their tank balance (nerf those OP prems like BZ176, Bourrasque, leFH, etc.), and their MM (incl. player recent performance/winrate) so we don't keep getting miserable experience like constant 3-15,
Well, WG definitely not getting my money
yeah but new HE mechanics makes us Free to play players to press the "2" button and use Gold , even if its not with true money
Ah, yes! It's not a REAL video game until one has to bust out Excel and the calculator app! 😆
I am an Eco player, I get enough loot boxes to get all the tanks at Christmas. And that usually gives me a ton of premium also, and enough for the battle oasses through the year. I may do an assembly shop or auction vehcile here or there but not consistent.
I have never spent a dime. And I’ve been doing pretty good so far.

I rather get real money by "playing" in real life and get entertainment value from QBs RUclips videos. Cheers mates, stay safe.

Thing is, I don't ever have to buy gold. I don't need premium days. I never grind. I don't care about the events, or getting goodies. Sure, there is a 'slow bit' at the front while you equip/train crew up. But really, that goes pretty darn fast.

At the end of the day, having these 3 tanks just allows me to log on, hit the battle button, and have fun driving tanks...
I buy the Holiday boxes and that is it for the year unless I grab a premium tank. I might do a BP season, but it's not too important.
I know I’ve spent too much money on this game, and every year I say “ this is the last time!” whilst pulling out my credit card…😅
I bought Skorpion with gold and IS-5 from bond shop, and only play when events are happening like december period. I have 2 tier X, and 2 tier VIII, playing only on holidays for 4 years, and i am not complaining
Time spent playing WOT is time where you don’t risk degrading your health, risk injury or catch viruses. Cheap at twice the price, right?
I spent £85 on Loot boxes in 2019 and that was the last (significant) spend on this game. The premium I bought with the gold lasted 18 months. I now have 480 tanks in my garage including 137 premium/reward tanks and every single Tech Tree Tier 10.
This year WG gave me an 89% discount on boxes and so I spent the 85p and got 4. Yesterday I decided to spend another £2.90 on 800 gold and that meant I had enough to buy 1 month of premium.
By grinding credits I've made 30 Million this christmas.
I don't mind spending money as it supports the game but these days it is mainly the Christmas Boxes and little else for the rest of the year.

(i got extra premium days from event and battle pass)
But i didn't get all the black market tanks etc. just the loot box tanks the improved battle pass tanks.
other than that a lot of the gold went to purchase old premium tanks inside the in game store when they were sold for gold.
Great video. Thanks!
buying in-game content in argentinian prices will save you roughly 70% of the money you would've spent regularly. be careful though cause you might get banned if you use this method.
Wargaming has roughly 100€ from me. It's the most i've ever spent on a video game and that was where I drew the line.
Im honestly thinking of getting back into WoT, but not right now.
Also major note buying premium at black Friday providesfurther reduction to year of premium by 50% less so its only 12k gold gor the year so about £1.50 a month
How much I'd a season ticket to a premiership club?
How much is a decent holiday these days?
As always free to play games are the most expensive ones ^^
Most painful for me personally is the amount of crews I have to throw away becuase I dont have enough space :(
It costs your sanity and isn't even a good game because of teammates at the end of the day. Can't buy those.
9 years and about 268 premium tanks =crazy collector
Bought christmas boxes for 2 years. Got IS3A, GSOR TD. Thrn cant be arsed anymore
Still got the gold leftover.
Surely the collector will be lower since they can get the eco stuff with the gold from xmas boxes ?
Never mind you covered it 30 secs after I commented haha
Only value I add is not $'s but just a body bag for most games for others to benefit.
I'd baulk at whaling if I could see that headline figure... And yet I'll still spend it.
@QuickyBaby
There are couple of flaws in the calculations of your Collector spendings.
Im not shocked at all.. I spend 400 at Xmas lootbox time to get all the stuff I need for the year.
