    Jaco is sleezy as helll but a good spot to pick up a secondhand board. Tamarindo perfect place to pick up a board too with loads of shop selling second hand boards plus the river mouth is half decent. For some reason I just dont get on with santa teresa cant put my finger on it maybe its the geography of the one street just feels kinda soulless and without center but i know this is my thing. last thing i wish CR was as cheap as it was when i first went just over 20yrs ago

      Yeah sleazy for sure!! And good shout on saying where to pick up good boards! Yeah, I guess sometimes, some places we just don't click with haha! And yep, shame it is so expensive nowadays!!

      Maybe do a series on cities where you can surf also. We went to Biarritz last year.

    Do you think could do a video on some good telework jobs you can do while you are traveling to pay for the trips?

    Hey it's been a long time dream of mine to bodyboard in Costa Rica. So, is there any places or camps that cater to someone like myself?

    • @peacepuffz
      @peacepuffz 10 месяцев назад

      Don't think they let Bodyboarders in the country.

    • @DanHarmon123

      Epic!! Plenty of beautiful spots to do that!! I'm not sure regarding camps that cater to body boarding specifically, but I'm sure any of the top camps in these major towns will be sweet :)

      Yeah I know the spongers need to figure it out and stand up on a real surfboard! lol Believe me if I could get in the break more then once a year, hardboard surfing might be an option. I’ve first body boarded in ‘86 and it came kind of easy to me and I don’t mean catching a broken waves either. But at my age if I hit clear tropical water and catch some clean waves, maybe get a a barrel or two it works for me! 😁 I’ll save all the glamour and flash of real surfing for the young kids! 😉

      Sounds good! Last thing… I heard getting from the airport to places like Santa Teresa can be a bit tricky. Did you find this to be true?

      Yeah, I'm not sure of an exact label haha, but sounds like you're at an exciting stage in your surfing! I'm sure you could find some peaks to yourself along the Santa Teresa stretch? Not sure which area you're planning to go exactly??

    • @DanHarmon123
      @DanHarmon123  9 месяцев назад

      Hmmm! There are definitely some around, but I think in most of these beginner-friendly spots, with plenty of people, and close to main towns, you'll be ok. Best to ask instructors locals, or lifeguards if there have been any sitings!!

      @@DanHarmon123 Thanks for that. Yeah, talked to a buddy of mine today who lived down there for a few months many moons ago. Said nothing to fret about. Says he took minimal precaution, paddled in suspect areas to access breaks… but man, lots croc reports online from various sources, seems largely unstudied. Fascinating creatures and navigating abilities, ancient soul-surfers really, but surely would not want to encounter one. I’ll be visiting Quepos area soon for yoga retreat, stoked to surf. Just trying to get educated about all facets and hopefully put my mind at ease.
