@@flyingknee8069 extreme acid pain that didn’t go away. I was probably up to about 12 Tums a day no matter what I ate. At one point I coughed lightly and bile came up, that was when I finally scheduled with the doctor. I should have scheduled sooner.

The doc prescribed it for chronic erosive gastritis.. after a week of use , I started to feel nauseous, especially when I am on a vehicle.. it's been a year now and the symptoms are still there..it just messed up my stomach more.

      I was prescribed this 4 x day.
It’s helping me because I’ve mild symptoms now of GERD, not chronic as before.
The inconvenience part it’s dividing this med into 6 hrs apart and 2 hrs before or after eating or taken other meds. It also doesn’t play to well with other meds, if taking in conjunction. Always gotta wait at least 2 hrs in between (my G.I doctor told me).
Have you tried to sleep in an elevated position? Your diet shouldn’t be any dairies, fried or hot spicy food.
I hope you get well soon friend.
      Cheers from NYC 🗽

I was prescribed this for acute gastritis. Dosage 1 pill 4x/day for 5 days. Is that long enough to heal the inflammation? It's not easy to schedule this through the day or relative to when I take other meds. If I still have symptoms when I have finished the Rx, would I typically continue to take it with an extended (repeated) prescription? What are side effects? Thanks.

I think it will! None of my specialist ever recommended sulcrafate or brought it up. However doing my own research on a trip overseas in Japan lead me to a local drug store that had it. 5 years of indigestion i never felt such instant relief. Now I'm finding that in the USA it has to be prescribed?!? I'm convinced Western medicine is weak.
