I've been (loosely) following Greenfield's development since I was in middle school and now I'm an adult with 2 jobs and I'm married. I remember downloading and converting a portion it to work on Xbox 360, those were the days. This project is easily the most iconic Minecraft build in my mind.
Hey, fellow Greenfield architect here. I'd like to give a major shoutout to the staff team of the Greenfield project for singlehandedly building almost the entire airport, and the administrator Bluecolty for building the entirety of the sewer system. The next update we are planning will also be huge as we will be reconstructing the downtown area to a more realistic scale and quality. Plus the surrounding terrain will also be overhauled as well as our metro system. This was an amazing video and I thank the Greenfield team and the community for making this all happen.
So people like you can walk around there for 25 minutes and be like „that’s pretty cool“ and then get bored and completely forget about it 4 days later
@@talosgak1236 I've been playing on this map for more than 6 years from time to time. There was time when I tried to destroy the city, I never managed to do that completely, and now it's impossible

There's a really cool easter egg beneath the VERY FIRST building ever built in the city. It would be a neat video idea for you to try and locate it without any help. The easter egg is pretty wild.
maybe one of the craziest things about this for me is that ive known about greenfeild since like 2015 when i saw a video of a guy who used it to do roleplays of natural disasters. and i even downloaded it back in 2019. now seeing it blow up like this is just insane
I want to see someone make one of those "Minecraft civilization" experiments in Greenfield. Except don't just cap it at a set time or have any goals. See if Minecraft players can make the city come to life in a functional civilization. See how many years it can go. See if the city expands, falls into ruin, morphs into something entirely new. Kinda like Stoneworks' civilization RP servers, but with a prebuilt city. It feels like it has a lot of potential.
This is like City Skylines in Minecraft, the kind of building I love to see and do in my own world, but man do you have to have the right tools and patience for all those roads and buildings.
I love the synergy between these guys. They can spend 10 years working on a megalopolis and not have huge amounts of arguments. These guys are willing to cooperate with the other guys to make the undone masterpiece that is called Greenfield. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Image a Zombie-apocalypse survival server, with greenfield as its map, if you just add a few mods with guns, cars and better render distance, that could be very epic, i mean I'd play it
0:36 I have an explanation for you... Yes indeed there is a near infinite number of places to go and things to do... but there is also the horrid limitation of finances. I would love to tour the world, experience culture, visit historic locations and meet amazing people. But, I'm a student who barely scrapes by and would go into crippling debt from just one international trip, let alone many. Lots of people at all stages of life in similar boats. Even when it comes to things to watch or games to play there are financial constraints. Not everyone can afford every streaming service now that there are about a dozen of them. Gaming offers the greatest variety on PC, where there are mods, but gaming PCs are expensive (usually in the four figure range). Name a thing you'd like to try and I could probably find a limitation arising from money. Sporting events? Expensive to attend in person out of your own city. Taking up music? Instruments cost hundreds and tutoring costs more. Education? Hundreds per class as an undergrad. Pet ownership? Hundreds or thousands (breed and location dependent) to buy the animal and then the recurring expense of food, vet bills, and grooming. Doing everything there is to do is too expensive for anyone who isn't rich. Thus, people get bored.
I think the thing that would top all of it off, would be a few heritage buildings. Like a capitol building, a large church, a government house, all that kind of stuff. But I'm really interested in the CBD for Greenfield, can't wait till they are done!
I built a replica of the Queen Mary 2 called the Gigantic. It has an interior as well it took me from May to October to complete it. I have great respect for projects like these
So I will start building a giant city too. But in european style! I hope we will be a fraction of greenfield in 10 years. 😂 Really great work. It‘s my absolutely favorite Minecraft build!
Pippen, you should look at Imagine Fun. Its not the biggest building project out there, but they are trying to create the entire Disneyland Resort in Minecraft.

Wow
The Create Mod has everything you need for an insane metro system! Hopefully you're ok with mods...
Will a skyline be added?

honestly insane what people are able to accomplish in a game that's simple enough to be played by seven year old, yet complex enough to do all this.
