    Thats so crazy Gina,i start beading 10 years ago. But i never make my own Projekts, thats nothing for me,i always use tutorials. Then i stop beading 2016. And a copple of mounths ago i start again. But everytime i had problems to thread my needle. I ask my daughter to do this for me,this time she was about 9 years old and she learned in school how to do this for sewing. Her name is also Gina😊❤. And now you show us this cool kind to thread a needle. Thank you so much Gina for showing us how do you work,and thank you so much for the beautyful tutorials you made.

    Gina, I stopped beading a couple years ago because I have lupus and rheumatoid arthritis and I just could not thread my beading needles nor add on thread. I have always preferred Fireline for its ease and drape etc but I happened upon your Russian Spiral video which lead me to this one and oh my Goodness, I can bead again! Thank you from the bottom of my 80 year old heart. Love your clarity and organization in your videos. You are #1 on my UTube short list! Thank you hardly covers it.

    She did not say so but one way holes in needles are created by punching a solid piece. The direction the punch hits the needle creates a sort of gradual descent into the hole, more abrupt on the back side. This maybe microscopic, but if you just can't get the thread through, turn the needle over and see if it helps. and thread, even fireline has a 'nap' or 'direction', which affects tangles. Off the spool, and through the needle is more correct than the other way around.

    • @GGCBeginningbeaders
      @GGCBeginningbeaders  5 лет назад +1

      Actually, I don’t know how they are made, but instinctively turn the needle over if I can not thread it.

    HI GINA👋😃... To start with... YOU ARE AWESOME... And i do have a quick question (and please don't think i am being rude or anything... i am truly just a newbie with prob a silly, silly question)... but... is there a reason you don't use those collapsing needles as opposed to the needle you just demonstrated how to thread its super-tiny eye?? again... i'm just curious... and wondering if in your opinion you PREFER that type other than the other style.... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! U ROCK!!!!!!!!....
    UPDATE:... WOW, WOW, WOW!!! i just watched the rest of your tutorial and HADDDD to wake up my husband.... to show him the ULTRA-COOL way you just connected two threads🤣🤣🤣... i couldn't help it... it was just too cool not to share👌👌🤣❤️awesome

    • @GGCBeginningbeaders
      @GGCBeginningbeaders  3 года назад +1

      LOL, I am sure your husband hates me now! Ha! To answer your needle question, I do not use large eye collapsible needles because they are not stiff enough to pass through very tight beads, the are harder to pass through many times, they are very long and I find them less maneuverable. Plus, I learned with this type and I am just used to them. But, you can, of course use anything you can make work for you, there are no rules.😁💙💜❤️

    Hi Gina, I'm not a beginner but I never knew the trick with the lighter. I appreciate the tip. Thank you very much for taking the time to share! One question tho, does the beading thread ever melt inside the beads?

    • @GGCBeginningbeaders
      @GGCBeginningbeaders  7 лет назад +2

      +rawlsmar Perhaps, if you heat the beads up, but you need to only get the flame close to the thread, not on it and only for a second

  • @jwb52z9
    @jwb52z9 6 лет назад

    I recently tried a kit I bought and the thread that came with it just frayed when I tried to squish it with the pliers. It only got worse from there with taking an hour to thread it and then it bent the eye end of the needle and I was told to use a certain length of the thread because I don't like the way you have to add thread. Well, that just got all knotted right after I put the first beads on the needle before I did anything else. Sufficed to say, I was ready to scream and throw it all against a wall. I don't think I am cut out for bead stitching like this when I don't have a physical person with me in the room who knows how to do it. It looked so simple until I tried it. I admire people who can do it because it makes gorgeous pieces.

    • @GGCBeginningbeaders
      @GGCBeginningbeaders  6 лет назад

      +Jwb52z try it again with fireline, you can buy it at sporting goods stores in the fishing department. The right supplies make all the difference in the world. Just take your time, practice joining the fireline so you don’t have to use long lengths, it takes practice, but it is really worth the effort.

  • @curtriceennis2924

    Can you maybe please help me with my problem? I am trying to thread the tiny eye of some beading needles with a certain nylon thread. No matter how many times I flatten the thread to try and put it in the eye, I can't get it in there. I'm just thinking the thread is too big for the needle. I can get it into a cross stitch size needle. But, that needle won't go all the way through a size 11/0 seed bead. It will go through a size 6/0 seed bead, however. When I'm working with the 11/0 beads and the small needles, I can sometimes get a smaller thread to go into the tiny eyed needles. But, when I use the smaller thread, it always breaks after I've been working with it and have passed it through the 11/0 seed beads a few times. I'm wondering if you can recommend a small beading thread and needle that won't cause it to break when I'm working with it in the 11/0 seed beads. Also, a few times the eye of my beading needle has sometimes just broken because of trying to draw a large piece of thread through the tiny eye to be able to work with a size 11/0 seed bead. Do you know of a brand of needle that won't break because of the thread? I appreciate any advice and help you can give me.

    • @GGCBeginningbeaders
      @GGCBeginningbeaders  3 года назад

      Yes, I can help. Buy Nanofil fishing line 8 or 10lb test weight. You can get it at sporting good stores like Cabellas. You can also find it on Amazon. Then, get a John James English beading needle size 10 or 12, size 12 is smaller than 10. You will need to squash the tip of the thread with flat or chain nose pliers to get it through the eye of the needle. This should help.

      @@GGCBeginningbeaders Thank you so much! I'm new at beading and I'm really afraid to invest in the wrong products. I saw another video on RUclips saying, that the thread has to say 'for beading' on it to work, so I'm so confused. I thought any fishing line would work for beading...? Thank you again for your wonderful videos :-) :-)

    Um... i am 61 years old and trying to thread that teeny tiny needle looks impossible with my old eyes. Couldn't I just use one of those large opening very thin beading needles?

      Do it the same way, it’s not the stitch I was showing, it’s the method. It works with every stitch.

      +Lolo d Yes it can work with beads as small as 15/o. You just have make sure to make your blobs very small.
