With your your new haircut you look 10 years younger 😊.
Best bonus ever! lol
We definitely deserve better especially since sunscreen is so important especially for us with super sensitive dry acne prone skin and those of us with multiple skin conditions it's so hard to find sunscreens that don't irritate my skin and makeup that has spf that doesn't irritate or breakout my skin
When I taught elementary school in the Nevada desert (full blast sunny days 99% of the year, lack of shade due to few trees), I only used Elta MD & Super Goop Unseen Sunscreen -and I’m porcelain white skinned. As a teacher, I had to be outside in the sun (a lot), taking the kids outside for recess, and to their outside ‘dismissal’ spot (parent pickup spot).
I never got burned, never got any sun spots -because Super Goop & Elta is all you need. As for under makeup, I think SG’s Unseen Sunscreen adheres to skin better, and works as a primer.
I get terrible hot flashes, and the Unseen Sunscreen still stays on.
I feel like I'm getting sunburned just thinking about Nevada! lol but I am overdue for a trip to Vegas.....
I can't wear chemical sunscreens because they break me out, so years ago I purchased my first big tube of EltaMD's UV Physical Broad Spectrum SPF 41 Tinted Sunscreen (that's a mouthful) from my derm and it quickly became my one and only facial sunscreen. I live in South Florida, so I always have multiple backup tubes of it in my linen closet. Because it has a slight pinky-peachy tint and even a slight glow, and because I don't like wearing liquid makeup, this sunscreen works as my daytime foundation with some Jane Iredale PurePressed Base Mineral Foundation applied to just my T-zone.
Skin 1004 Centella is my current favourite. It melts into the skin nicely and looks lovely under my MAC powder foundation.
Absolutely love the hair! Thanks for all you do 🤗
Your hair looks fantastic. Ultra chic and funky at the same time.
Great look!!
Thanks, Alejandra!!
Wow! Nice look😊
Love the hair ! It totally compliments the pink ! Very stylish! ❤

Great sunscreen information, thanks Shelly💜
My skin is so sensitive. I really like Biossance sunscreen but not under makeup. Love the LaRoche Posay serum with niacinamide and wear it almost every day. LOVE your hair.
Your hair and make up look great!

Shelly I went through the worst October of my life very sad last year. I am so glad you kept your bat. It makes me happy. I hate say it but ,I do not wear it but now watching!!!
Your hair is fabulous!!
Thanks, Karen!!
Love, love, love the new haircut!
Thanks, Maryann!
I ❤ your hairstyle! I've been eyeing that style for awhile and you wear it fabulously. Very informative reviews on sunscreen.
Thanks!! I'm loving it. I had a meltdown moment out working in my garden and my sweaty hair kept getting in my eyes and that was the final straw lol.
I also stocked up on No.7 while in Scotland. Glad I picked up that new day moisturizer. I haven't tried it yet, but now it's next in line! Thanks for sharing your sunscreen wisdom!
I'm half way through my first jar and am starting to panic because I only brought 2 back with me! lol
Thanks ❤!!
You look so pretty with your new hair cut Shelly ❤️
Thanks, Monica!
Ohhhh, I kove your haircut Shelly!!!!
Thank you!!
My fave sunscreens lately have centella asiatica in them-- Skin1004 Madagascar Centella Water Fit Sun Serum, Thank You Farmer Sun Project Sun Relief Cream, IUNIK Calming Daily Sunscreen, Haruharu Wonder Black Rice Moisture Daily Airy-Fit. For mineral formulas, love the ISDIN Eryfotona from Spain and the Beekman Milk Primer, though it's only SPF 35. Love your new haircut!
Love the hair 🥰
My favourite sunscreen is Mad About Skin hydrating sunscreen spf50++++ (which my dry skin loves) and Beauty of Joseon Spf50++++.
Clicked at bedtime because of the hair!!! Wicked awesome Shelly!!!!
Thanks, Cherise!!
Your hair is beautiful Shelly!
Also my sister goes to Germany and when she does she brings me back sunscreen. I like way more than any sunscreen I can get here in the US.
I've also ordered Asian sunscreens too and those have been good to me as well. It's a shame we can't be on par with any of these countries.
This Hair-do is a WINNER!!!!! and I really like the natural color on the sides with the pop of color on the top
Thanks, Darcey!
Your makeup today is stunning.
Thank you!!
I've been using a Nivea Japan water gel broad spectrum sunscreen for about 4 years now. Inexpensive and beats the socks off of old US sunscreens.
It's not just a cosmetic issue. Americans aren't just getting wrinkled & spotty because US sunscreens suck. Some are dying.
So I was happy to see you kick this off with a much needed diss of American sunscreens!
Yep. And I hate to sound like it's some sort of conspiracy, but I always wonder if this and other health care related issues in the US are in part because preventing the illness in the first place could reduce revenues of post-illness treatment and drug companies. We deserve better.
Your hair looks amazing.
Thank you!
Love your new hair cut = very stylish
Thanks, Joanne!
Love the new hair cut! I wish I had a Suncream drawer ha ha. I just have the 1 on the go right now
Thanks, Shawna! lol yep top middle drawer in my bathroom is entirely sunscreen!
Great look! My favorite facial SPF, for a few years now, is Australuan Gold SPF 50 mineral formula. Actually its my makeup base. My rosacea thanks me. Made in USA. I don't need to try anything else. Love the video Shelly!
That's one of the few US ones I like! The tinted one is the one I most often grab.
Hi Shelley I don't hoard spf and just buy them as I need them. I use Ultrasun and replace my bottle once it's nearly empty (50+ in the warmer months and 30 in the Winter). I have tried others (including many of the most hyped) and not enjoyed them, so I just buy the ultrasun I've used for over a decade - Swiss made, hybrid spf, longwear and very reliable. No need for a wardrobe of spf here as I just have the two and wear one every day I leave the house. I have both rosacea and eczema so I can have horrible reactions to spf and find them all somewhat drying. To give my skin a rest I don't wear it in the house in Scotland outwith very sunny days, but I'm also not sitting directly in front of a window etc. I'm 51 so I have sun damage - even though I was never a sun worshipper (Fitzpatrick one who burns and gets prickly heat) I have years of incidental exposure before we really knew to wear it year round. Best wishes.
Come on US. Let’s catch up!
Love your new look by the way! 😍
Very jealous of your stock ups of European sunscreens. I prefer mineral ones because my face and eyes are sensitive to chemical filters (even the newer filters). I like the Elta MD UV physical and the HaruHaru Wonder Mineral sunscreen. I also like the Vanicream one, but it’s only SPF 30. If I don’t love a sunscreen I will use it up by applying to my neck, chest and arms. I totally have a sunscreen drawer.
I decluttered recently- due to a lot of fires and disasters- I donated many items - people need toiletries especially.
Evy spf 50 pa ++++ mousse is unparalleled in every way. Gothamista turned me into it. Doesn’t even stain clothing when applying nor does it bother my sensitive eyes in any way. It’s long lasting and you can reapply this over makeup without messing it up. Just perfect, except how stupid expensive it is to have it shipped over here to the US from Europe. But to me worth it.
For going to work ( I’m a dental hygienist that doesn’t bother with makeup for my work day) I second Skin 1004 centella and even out my skin tone with erborian red correct cc cream 🙌
Love Your new hair cut Shelly you look absolutely gorgeous loving the more punk look also your makeup is stunning as always
Thank you!!! I figured, a decade plus without a pixie cut was too long lol
@goow you're so welcome and this pixie cut looks absolutely stunning on you I haven't had a pixie cut since I was between 19- and 21 I'm 29 now so it's definitely been a long time infact I haven't had much hair cut since April last year I'm way over due for a cut/ trim but my stylists prices went up so I've been putting off plus I've been busy with other things but I definitely do need to get my layers redone and my side bangs trimmed up I personally have been loving the more layered emo/ scene hair styles definitely my personal favorite love more edgy cuts and styles and they also look amazing with my natural wavy curly hair too
Wow, you look gorgeous ❤
Thanks, Sonja!
Your hair tho !!! ❤❤❤
🔥🔥🔥
Thank you!
LRP sunscreens are just reliable and great, also their new UV Mune version, highly recommended. I love the thinner version - the fluid - more in summer, but I agree, it’s not drying at all.
Thank you Farmer is a Korean water sun cream SPF50+ And PA+++. Very light smell and wears really good under makeup. ❤❤
Oooh I've been meaning to try that one! They make a couple essences that I really enjoy.
It's so disappointing how far behind we are in the sunscreen arena. I've been do disappointed in so many of the ones that I've tried. Chemical sunscreens definitely bother my eyes.
That's a bummer that you can't get the No.7 day cream sunscreen here.
Without a doubt, sunscreen everyday. I need to go through some of the ones that I just don't like.
Im so grateful that I stopped sun worshiping in my early 20s, after baking in my teens every single summer.
To this day, The Ulta Md Tinted sunscreen has been my favorite, but recently found out that it's not cruelty free. The DRMTLGY brand is ok, but it's partially chemical, and sometimes it does irritate my eyes. I wish that Australian Gold Tinted sunscreen would come out with a moisturizing version.
Thanks, Shelly. By the way, I love your hair! 🩷🩷🥰
I mix Super Goop Glow Screen with the Elta MD tinted mineral sunscreen.
I loooove your hair..Beautiful..
Thanks, Ashley!
It isn’t even just about the cosmetic elegance. Some of the newer filters have better broad spectrum coverage and are more photo stable so they are even more protective.
❤❤❤❤ your hair we need a 360 view!!!
I just bought the purple (onion newpair) sunscreen from Isntree. Loving it so much. So light and great under makeup. Absolutely agree - we deserve both ratings on our sunscreen.
Oooh I need to try that one - I like Isntree! I need more of their bifida serum too.
@@goow I've been wanting to try that serum too. Guess I need to make another order. I'm also obsessed with their sunscreen stick too. Love that for reapplication when wearing makeup.
Brazilian sunscreens are awesome
FDA language is "broad spectrum" requires UVA and UVB. I really like EltaMD UV Clear and their tinted UV Physical. My current body sunscreen is LaRoche Posay Melt In Milk spf 60 because it is one of very few sunscreens that actually test at the SPF on the label.
OMG look at your hair! 🥰🥰🥰🤘
hehehe Thanks, Terra!! Punk mode activated!
There are very few that my skin can tolerate. The ones it can, I have to alternate. Currently, I’m using Skin1004 Hyalu-cica Water-fit Sun Serum and iUnik Centella Calming Daily Sunscreen.
Love your hair! It really suits you 😊 What’s your recommendation for the best sunscreen for acne prone and aging skin? I wear sunscreen everyday even if I don’t leave the house 😂
Thanks, Kelly! I wear mine every day too (even days inside). Have you tried any of the La Roche Posay sunscreens? I'm pretty sure they're all noncomedogenic, but they have one that is specifically for acne-prone skin too - go.magik.ly/ml/1w314/ and even the ones that have alcohol in them don't dry me out, so they seem pretty on par with their formulations.
I' ve had to stop myself from buying new sunscreens just because they are on sale so I can work through what I have while it's still good. Most American chemical sunscreens for the face hurt my eyes (very few dont), so I gravitate toward mineral or Korean chemical ones from Amazon or YesStyle. LOVE your hair!
That's one of the most common things I hear both here and through friends - eye stinging and pain with chemical sunscreens. It's a bummer because a couple friends and colleagues who had that complaint and have been on Ireland trips with me now don't have trouble with the European chemical filters. If we would just approve them here.....
I love Purito Daily Go To sunscreen spf 50 PA ++++
That is one of my go-to ones too!
Lol I need to declutter everything lol including sunscreen and makeup - have you tried beauty of Joesen sunscreen ? It’s lovely
I haven't! Added to my list!
Have you tried the Joe Blasco Ultrabase? Love your channel!! Thanks!
I haven't - added it to my list ot check out!!
I grew up in Arizona and never wore sunscreen. Sunburns were as common as cactus and lizards. Now in my 60's, I have learned sunburns are skin wounds. Funny thing, if we get too close to a hot pan or steam and get a burn, we treat THOSE like injuries, but don't say, "Ooooo. I hope I get a tan." I like the Purito Daily Go-to Sunscreen and the Isntre Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel.
I think we are behind on many things!!.
Many many things! Yep. :(
Can't get the Day Cream in Canada either. Strangley as even we have better sunscreens than the USA. I might be able to order it from the UK though. Not sure if you can in the USA.
Love the new hair. Can we get a tutorial?
I haven't been able to get it as high as my stylist did! lol but I am going back in a couple weeks and I'm going to have her tell me what product she used and watch again how she did it! I'm just messing it up with pomade now.
I just read an article that claims Australia has the best sunscreen standards in the world, it’s the best in the world at protecting skin from extreme sun exposure.
Oooooooh interesting!! I wonder if I can find any sunscreens made there!
❤
I bought car window sunscreens in the baby dept. at Target and have one on my driver's side window! It comes with suctions cups and rolls up and down, and is adjustable for most windows. Even though all my car windows are tinted, I had a skin cancer removed on my left temple area and wanted extra protection in addition to wearing sunscreen and sunglasses.... and the visor on the car never seems to do its job completely. Please, anyone thinking a little sun is okay, take heed...it accumulates over time and Voila....a skin cancer can appear...and I have a more medium skin tone and was envied in my teenage years for my tans while friends turned red. So, Everyone is susceptible!
That is a great idea!!
When I go to Italy I will look for the NO 7
Definitely do!!! I just took down an IG reel I posted the other day (because for some reason it posted with no sound), but it was me getting ready for work applying my foundation when I realized that my 3 main forehead lines are DISAPPEARING and the only thing new in my skin care is the No7 pepticology stuff. I need to do a whole video on it and get some side by side photos going.
For me the only active that does not itch/burn is zinc and that one dries my skin out. So I rather wear covering clothes/hats and stay out of the sun... (I live in Northern Europe, so its is not that hard) :D
I am so cheap it literally KILLS me to throw away products I paid for so what I do a couple times a year is go through my products and either just mix them in one of those oversized lotion bottles or dump one product in the current lotion I'm using. I usually dont use it for my face but for my body. You can dump serums/oils ect right in lotion and use them up. For the past couple years I have used Neutrogena 70 drytouch on my face. It never breaks me out and it works great.
Love that idea!!
You don't like Elta MD? I love their Sport SPF 50--although a little shiny on my face, so thinking of the Elta MD Shield, not as oily supposedly. Thanks
They've been on my "meaning to try" list forever! But I have yet to remember to grab some to try! lol - aren't they made by one of the prestige brands in similar packaging, like it's their parent company? Now I can't remember their name - but I had that other brand and learned of Elta MD that way.
I just thought it was Elta MD. You can only get it at certain stores. It's the only stuff that makes my skin look decent, doesn't have a white cast & doesn't burn my eyes. I have permanent makeup brows & most stuff burns the crud out of my eyeballs. Plus I don't want to fade my brows--so certain ingredients in sunscreens I have to watch out for too.
You make me wanna cut all my hair off SO BADLY.
Edit: My favorite sunscreen is the Hada Labo UV White gel. Nothing compares.
hehehe I knew when I started cutting it shorter that I should've just gone straight to pixie because I'd end up here anyway!
I work at home and sometimes don't leave the house. I'm about 12 feet from a window....do you think I should apply sunscreen anyway?
I would... I do even if I'm staying home because my desk is next to a window.
