Sacramento, CA out here! Born in Vallejo, (like e-40). So I know that G-Eazy, Jay Ant, and E-40 are from the Bay, this is a Bay song, you don't like it GTFO, this is what G grew up on. He uses haters to wipe that legendary shit off his legendary ass lol
Everyone talking about E-40. I used to hear him in my dads truck years ago. He's an OG so don't say he's trash. People can say this song wasn't for him to be on tho.
I've seen like 100 comments saying something along the lines of "why is everyone hating on E-40, he's a legend" but I've yet to see one comment saying he sucks 😂
A lot of people won't appreciate this remix because they're not from the Bay. They probably don't even realize all the Bay and Mac Dre references in not just the remix, but the original as well. To be honest one of the reasons why this is one of my favorite G-Eazy tracks is because of how it just shouts Bay Area. But to each is own. You can't hate just because someone leaves their opinion. #TheseThingsHappen
Dont expect these hipster babies to know jack shit about a bay area GOD! The fuck they know about Mr Flamboyant? They needa go to stuff a Chipotle burrito in they mouth and shut da fuck up! LOL
I first realized something was different about me the summer before high school. I was pushing everyone away and I just had this feeling on the inside. Like a hole. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was dealing with anxiety and depression. I had ignored it for years. I would lay for hours and listen to this on repeat and I couldn't tell you why.. it just felt right. I eventually got to go to a G Eazy concert, with who at the time, was a brother to me. Right before his set Started (Logic was performing before) a lady came up to us and asked us to go to the first row because they're was room. We were at the very top. He played this song before it ended, and its one of my favorite memories ever. When he would say 'Now I'm here bitch' it felt symbolic. He had made it to headlining an arena, and I had somehow made it, after all this sadness, to finally see our moments connect. We did make it.
Damn how could I forget this masterpiece. I fear as I get older it’s gonna be harder to remember all these gems I’m coming back across. Simply too much to go around☹️
+salazarf2 Have you heard about these rappers (& there albums/mixtapes? check them out): Childish Gambino (ROYALTY, STN MTN/ KAUAI) Caskey (Black Sheep 1 & 2) Jay Rock (90059) B.o.B (Water) Taylor J (1991: The Mixtape) BIG K.R.I.T. (It's Better This Way) Fabolous (The Soul Tape 1,2, & 3).
E-40 is a west coast/Bay area legend. G-Eazy is from the Bay so of course he would have a song with E-40. The sound of this entire song is very Bay area, so E-40 fits perfectly. Step your rap game up kiddos. Respect to G-Eazy for showing love to the greats.
I forgot e40 was from Vallejo, I used to live in Made Island where his mom worked. And my tattoo artist used to tattoo him back in the day. Small world
And my uncles cousins cousin walked by him once way back in the day, and then this one guy I knew, knew another dude who knew plenty of other people who probably knew someone who knew more people who knew another person who probably knew him.
E-40 Verse goes from 1-100 It ain't funny what I've been through Your enemy can be some kin to you I started off hella broke Hung around people that's older than me, took notes Momma worked three jobs on the weekends Used to help her wash the walls at Mare island In Vallejo naval houses Havin' a roof over my head was my allowance The oldest of four, young adults Surrounded by grief, big dreams and hope They hated and they doubted How did you take it? Took it with a grain of salt I wanted it badly, they couldn't stop me, Indie Erry label wanted to sign me Grew up on Short and Freddie B (Who else?) Magic Mike and Calvin T
As accurate as this statement is, i believe that the verse was supposed to exclaim his success, despite his/everyone's doubts & if his verse matched or was in sync with the rhythm of the song people wouldn't have really listened to what he had to say.
The first time I heard this song hands down became my favorite. Mad respect for G-eazy making it and getting himself out there. It ain't easy now a days to do what he did. E 40s verse is dope. Bay area all the way
I have been listening to G Eazy for a minute and I love how he has come into his own he is foolishly underestimated by ppl and I love how he stays true to himself I can't wait for him to really takeover
Flawless e40 flow perfect fit for this song... Shot out my heads who get it... others do your homework and google him and some the realness he shared in this verse..
If u want to achieve sum in yo life go for it no one stopping you but urself manifest that shit and work for it will really show when you achieve something in life that you worked hard for
I used to listen to this back them when i had nothing and envision me finally making it. Turns out we never finally make it because the hustle never stops, but i did reach points i didnt think i would so hearing this again makes me feel good
Honestly I think it depends of which version you heard first. I really like E-40in this song, but it could be just because this is the first version I heard.
In 2015, I was so deep in my addiction. Was hustlin n tryin to establish myself. To others in the game, that was easy for me..my ex was the one I couldn't please. This is the first g eazy song I ever heard and it stood out in the haze of my high as we went 90 down toll road 130 headed to central Austin.

Do you mean like the instrumental? Bcos I deffo agree, most of his songs do, that's why I like his songs
G-Eazy 👑
Every artist has fandoms nowadays, I think G-eazy's should be called Eazy-goers
I first realized something was different about me the summer before high school. I was pushing everyone away and I just had this feeling on the inside. Like a hole. not supposed to get all emotional for a song haha
Just because some people don't like E-40 on this song, it doesn't mean they're are too young, its just their opinion...
I'm in the midwest but have always considered E-40 as an artist with a west coast flow and east coast lyricism. I personally like him on this track.
being from the bay! yeeeee G-Eazy does rep it hard! lyrics are on point! He does show love to Mac drezy!
He's my favorite rapper. He always keeps his lyrics tight and strong. When the beat drops in some of his songs. It's badass.

❤️
Honestly I think E-40's voice fits the song the best, its just his flow didn't match the beat at times in his verse
This is very accurate.
E-40 = Legend
Not even forty water is unorthodox that's why he's a g
As accurate as this statement is, i believe that the verse was supposed to exclaim his success, despite his/everyone's doubts & if his verse matched or was in sync with the rhythm of the song people wouldn't have really listened to what he had to say.
If u ain't hood or gutter u won't understand his lyrics
This song reminds me of summer with my friends. I love it. saw him in concert this summer and it was amazing
This gives me sad Nostalgia vibes
E-40 made this song.
What I'd give to be young again. This song brings back many memories
