I want to give a masssssive thank you, if it wasn’t for this video I wouldn’t of have any idea how to replace my window motor. Thank you again @klowny1969
If you drill the 3 access holes, there is absolutely no reason to remove those outer rivets. Those hold the regulator bracket. I know some "kits" include a motor bracket. But you can re use the one that's already in place. Last thing anyone needs to do is to get the regulator bracket out of whack when re bolting it into place. I think others have chimed in already about knocking off those large rivets. Guys, (and gals) you don't need to remove those. Thank you though for the video, I've never done the GM window motor before in my 40+ years of working on cars. Lucky I guess :)
Why didn't your window fall down? Was someone holding it for you? I know the regulator has a spring on it which can hurt you if you don't know what your doing...
Run the bolt through the old bracket. Pretty much a no brainer :) Ive seen a few videos for the 3rd gen motor and some use sheet metal screws. Not me, I will use the bolts lock washers and nuts, along with some Loctite.
I was worried about doing this on my Camaro, Thanks for making this video it helped.

You don't need to remove the 2 external rivets... Just the 3 internally attaching the motor.
Don't forget to subscribe 😉

Video not compatible for the 2002 Firebird Trans Am. Window motor is not positioned there or that way.

+klowny1969 Yep someone sent me the link so I wanted to clarify it is not for the 4th gen.
klowny, there's no reason to remove the rivets on the outside. just the ones you have to drill to get to.
