That ending was head voice E6. It's too connected to ne whistle. His head voice goes up to F#6 from what we've seen so far. He's just insane. And this performance is so powerful (I love the outfit as well), look up the lyrics.

This video is a mix of fancam and professional footage, so you can see all the facial expressions, etc, but the audio quality is immensely better. Highly recommended.
You should watch the official version of this performance. The fancam version has really bad audio and you don't see the magnificent setup he is singing at.
Even if I know nothing about music, I can understand the lyrics just because I'm Italian and he sings in Italian in this song. The message of the song is a rather positive one, like talking to a (probably young) man or woman and inviting him/her to be confident about the future.
