Being myself a Ladakhi I was not aware of a place named Itchoo. You've been to the remotest of places that no Ladakhi ever has. You are a true explorer of nature.

This is the best documentary I have ever watched.Thank you so much for making this. I visited Shargandi Village with my Abba last year during summer vacations. I had a very long conversation with a girl from Shargandi Village about Itchu Village and Shargandi.She was saying that the people of Itchu face lots of problem especially during winter . There is no medical facilities in Itchu. If someone gets ill thn they carry the patient in basket (Chaipo )and take him/her to near by village i.e. Bartoo Village (which is about 20 km far away from Itchu) from there they take the patient to CHC Sankoo or District Hospital Kargil. She was also saying that some patients get critically ill in the way and die. I had tears in my eyes while listening to her. Now Indian Govt.has made Ladakh a separate U T. Hope this will help better spending of funds in the region. I made a plan to Visit Itchu Village this year but unfortunately due to this corona pandemic I will not be able to go there. Inshaallah next year. Anyways it's a very beautiful place to visit during summer.

Sadly v are not attending to the basic necessities of our people in the remote villages and putting all are resources in the urban areas which makes only a miniscule part of are population. India cannot go from being a developing country to a being a developed country by forgetting a large part of are population! Thanks for putting this out so beautifully!
I really don't think government should invest money in this particular area. They are only 180 and it is much better to shift in new place and government should assist their migration. No point of investing so much money in this area .

Also if facilities are provided no's Will go up and anyways one can't expect large population staying at higher altitudes as only natives can endure such harsh climate's! Keep in mind having having large population in upper altitudes is also environmentally harmful!

A Big No. Government should pay them money and re- skill them and move them out of there. Do you even have idea ,that it would be 10 times costlier to build a road there. Do you know it next to impossible to maintain the road. Just think. Providing facilities once is not enough maintaining is. Which is not at all possible there
And we think our life is difficult after everyday taking for granted what they consider as luxury.. Water, medicines, road. God bless them and God help us.

I was there for 2 days during summer in 2019.They had to face a lot of difficulties with no road no hydro electricity no healthcare facility and no network conectivity.The Govt is literally doing nothing for the betterment of these people.They have been discriminated on all grounds.
Didn't BJP government provide electricity to that village in 2018? Where was electricity before that? You can't just convert the whole village like villages of Switzerland in a matter of days

I can relate my life with this vjdeo. When I was a kid I still remember it use to snow heavily in my village in kishtwar and all we use to do is to store wheat grains for winter ,and corn .Then also we use to go for hunting the partridge and other small birds by making trap for them . Pigeons were our favourite targets . On the other hand my father use to walk 5km just to turn that wheat seeds into flour in a chakki which was running by a stream . Life was really very tough back then . And when I watch these videos I remember everything that we did back then . Thanks for such a wonderful work sir Stay happy
@@shreyashvimehta213 in high altitude regions like Ladakh and other places during winter there are no vegetables due to road blocks for 6 months during winter and people have to rely on meat,pulses and whatever essential stocking has been done for their survival. Hunting happens in old days but now hunting is strictly prohibited and people depends on their cattle for meat to survive.
@@Ladakhz if its a matter of survival than its ok. but why u kill animals in the name of food even in cities when enough of veggie items are avaialble.. killing innocent animals is brutial. they feel same pain as humans do.. Go vegan and dont justify the murder of innocent animals

Thanks for highlights Ichoo is remotest village in district kargil.(ladakh). ..which is almost 50km away from my village .. No road, no water facilities,no medical facilities, and no tower yet ...lack of all basic facilities..they only eat local food ..single fruit groceries r not available there .....but still they r living a happy life ....our govt need to look at their grievances at priority bases.......
I did my master's thesis research in this area! Bartoo village was one of my case study sites. indeed the whole area is very remote and poorly connected by road.
Not only you shoot at the most amazing locations but you also truly connect with the locals. Hope these people at least get the basic facilities they deserve to have. Thank you for sharing this video.
