A Winter's Day in Changthang | Living with the Changpas of Ladakh - 2/6
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 5 фев 2025
- The changpas are a tribe of semi-nomadic people who live in Changthang, the high altitude plains of Ladakh and northern Tibet. Crops do not grow at these high altitudes, so the Changpas survive by raising goats and yaks. It is a hard life as they spend almost every moment days taking care of their animals and processing their produce.
In this episode we will see what a typical day of a Changpa is like during the winters. Everything from their activities at home, in the village and out in the plains with their animals.

What a show buddy . Just sitting on my chair I have lived a life of changthang.
Great respect for the herding communities that are almost completely self reliant and virtually untouched by modern wastefulness.
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
So thankful to the crew members for bearing the hardships to produce this beautiful video. The Buddhist values rooted are rooted in those people and lives in harmony with animals under harsh condition.
You are welcome Namgay
Thanks! Inspiring brother. Keep it up. Vanakkam from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you so much!
Wonderful... India in Motion.. It just simply recalled my childhood as a member of Changpa nomads...Apart of that I have done my Ph.D thesis on my community (changpa)... thanks again for sharing
Oh that's interesting. Is your thesis published anywhere? I would love to browse through it to get more insights into their lives.
Then I have a doubt. Do you have that much grass under that ice for such big herds to graze?
You can get your answer in episode 4
congrats
Congratulations for your PhD. I would love to spend my life with them ,we talk about eco friendly way of living life .
Your way of living life is a great example for me.Thank you .

Salute to your true Travel spirit!
Haha. Thanks Vaibhav. Appreciate the gesture 🙂
Possibly the best video I've seen on RUclips in quite some time! Great work and hats off to your patience and dedication! Waiting for the next video! Keep up the good work!
Thanks Shikhar 🙂
I couldn't agree more
Yes absolutely true and I'm agree with u
Lovely video, u covered all the important things here. Thanks for sharing.
i was reading somewhere that ladakh was considered a happy state inspite of the harsh weather conditions here. Thats because people live simple and together in communities respecting the environment. Hope outsiders always respect this tradition and not try to take development here. One of the few left natural habitats.
Amazing!Fantastic!Just fall short of words while praising your work.Staying in remote area of Ladakh during freezing winters for making video about Changpas speaks of your dedication towards your work. Hats off to you.
Thanks for the kind words 🙂
this was beautiful. best video of that region. Usually people will just go and take some pictures, but you have captured the daily lives of people which is very hard to see in any vlogs or documentaries these days. You have done a phenomenal job.
Thank you for those kind words.
When you see such life, it force you to think what is your life meant for? What is money for when you are unhealthy? I think our The Great Himalayan terrain itself is a natural gym to work out.
Really admire your work. All the viewers please appreciate his work because it needs mental plus physical readiness to shoot, having no team on ground plus when you are your own all the time.
Thanks Prakash. You get it.
People in India are amazing, they are humble and love the land they belong to.
True and well said
Not like CCP, NEPALand WESTERN
they claim everything is there and destroy wenn someone protest
Tibetan know why they came to INDIA
were the langauge and religion originated

Saravana sir you are one of those rare people who are exploring what many don't and sharing the experience with us. Thanks a lot and wishing you well. Cheers!
Beautiful.. respect for your love and effort to bring these stories to us.
Thanks Vasu
You are a great teacher. Some gurus teach with words, you teach by manifesting the principles of universal knowledge. Yes, you are absolutely right, the Universe does manifest reality based on your clear intent. The Changpas are manifesting beauty, hardship and freedom, it is their reality. What a wonderful teaching from life. Perhaps this is Life in Motion.
Kudos !! Beautifully explained while their life unfolds before us !! That is a badass life , so much struggle and yet so humble
I’m so glad that i found your channel but also sad that i found it so late , i might have missed your years of hardwork but each of your work is just so serene and it has left me awestruck. I’m spellbound. Please keep up the good work, it works like magic, it has transitioned me into a different world altogether. What better way to promote sustainability than going back to the roots! You’ve been doing great my friend❤️
Sir every content from you worth waiting, just loving your work.

You made me respect nomads more n more. Whenever I watch your videos especially of changpas it really made my day. Nomads are really going through the real hardships in their life n still they are happy😊 keep it up man👍
Thanks Nupur. Grass always seems greener on the other side. If given a chance most of the Changpas would prefer to live in cities and towns like us.
It's great to watch your channel. You have such love for Changpa. No commercial Bear Grylis can match you. You have that calmness in you not running to somewhere all the time. The people here have hard life but simple and undisturbed.

You are one of those individuals on the internet who inspired me to travel all by myself, travel to learn about the lives of the humans leaving our privileges back in our houses. Glad to tell you that I've started, slowly and steadily I am trying to travel just the way you do. Being a female it's sometimes tough but it's for sure the purest bliss I have ever experienced. Thank you for all this content :) Loads of respect for you !

I love your previous Ladakh series about people and their culture ,work, survival but this is on another level best video on the tribe people of Ladakh. Keep it up👍👍👍👍
Thanks Suman. That series was more about my travels, with a little bit of culture mixed in. But this one is totally about the people and I enjoy making videos like this.
@@indiainmotion and I enjoy this type of video, lots of people make travel videos but one can rarely find the type of video you are making. Good luck for your upcoming videos

I wish your videos get millions views. You putting lots of effort. I am 100% sure RUclips exist just because of creator like you.
Thanks Tarun. RUclips exists because of funny cat videos. But seriously it is a great platform for independent people like me to put out content and make a living from it. Eventually... (I get less than 50$ a month from RUclips).
What a hard life these changpas has********** oh ALMIGHTY you are great of the greatest
These are extraordinary stories..that need to be seen..
I'm exploring this channel so late..
But then again better late than never 😊❤🎉
@India In Motion ... in my childhood we were out there with sheep all the day eating roti with gur(jaggery)..i wish to go back some day a spend sometime with shepherds in the mountains
The music uve chosen so suits the visuals. I enjoy this often it brings me joy everytime.
Great video. Very informative. Changpas are hard working people
Living in western Canada I have nothing to complain about ever. What a hardy people.
No need for background music, we prefer to listen to the sound of nature.
4u25out the music is too loud. It drowns out the narrative.
The greatest Truth
It’s horrible
So true.... but that music was driving me into their lives.... ❤️❤️
I lived that life when I was 6 year old, but now modernisation take off everything, really missing hard but quality days

Great one again ❤️.... I am now realizing the transition from timelapses to cultural documentaries... Keep it up sir 😊...
Timelapses always felt empty to me. This is more fulfilling. But having said that I do want to capture more timelapses as fillers for my documentaries. I'm a bit cross with myself that I didn't capture any timelapses on this trip.
