I’ve had no problem with mine, except a few days ago when it was cloudy and raining. I just didn’t feel the energy. When I received them I released all energies that were attached to them. I take time to relax my brain, then I imagine my root chakra connecting with Mother Earth and my crown chakra connecting with source or God. I also ask for protection for God to shine his white light down to protect me and all that I am dousing for. I’m just learning, but loving it. We will get better with practice, right?

I think they should be copper but it doesn't matter whether you buy or make them. The main thing is how you calibrate them through cleansing, meditation, and connection.
