      Start slow. Don’t just jump in and spar anyone. Focus on the jab and moving your head

    How many kilometers should I run per week to have good cardio for boxing?

    • @madhookersboxingmartialarts
      @madhookersboxingmartialarts  6 месяцев назад +3

      Best is to run three times a week for 30 minutes. Start slow then build up. Most people are only ever going to fight for three rounds.
      Running gets you in shape to spar. Sparring then gets you in shape to fight.
      But you have to have a solid boxing foundation before you spar.

    How many kilograms in bench press are necessary to have a knockout punch?

    • @madhookersboxingmartialarts
      @madhookersboxingmartialarts  6 месяцев назад +1

      Knock outs are achieved by solid technique and perfect timing. Has nothing to do with bench pressing

      @@madhookersboxingmartialarts I mean how strong a person needs to be to have a foundation in punching power. For example, I've been doing calisthenics for a year, i do 20 push-ups and 12 dips per set. Do I need to increase the reps?

      @@anthonychavez6068like he said, bodybuilding strength or strength in being able to lift heavy has only a part in KO power. How fast do u throw? Technique? Timing? Where do u hit him? ….

      @@anthonychavez6068 To get a bit science-y:
      Force is mass multiplied by acceleration. The greater force in your punch, the more it will hurt the opponent and the greater likelihood of a knockout.
      You can increase the mass of your arm by getting fatter, but this means you aren't as fit. You can increase mass by putting more muscle on, but if it's "bodybuilding" muscle trained specifically to move heavy weights at low acceleration you'll only have trained the "slow twitch" muscles, which are totally useless at generating a high amount of force in the shortest time possible such as in an explosive movement like punching or jumping. That's why you don't see any triathletes or swimmers or sprinters with massive muscles. Slow twitch and fast twitch muscle fibres are two different muscle types are for different functions. Now if you train your muscles with "explosive" movements (explosive meaning you produce a movement that moves a great amount of weight at the fastest possible acceleration you can muster), you can grow fast twitch muscles that serve the function you want it to.
      The second component of the equation is acceleration. This is much easier to improve, you can increase the acceleration of your arm by improving your technique, do a film study on professional boxers and compare them to recordings of your own technique or simply training to throw punches as hard and fast as you can to throw punches faster, hence a higher acceleration. You can do this by simply forcing yourself to throw each individual punch as fast as possible, so your muscles adapt to increase the acceleration of your fist toward the target. Wear heavier gloves to facilitate this. When I say heavier- do not hold dumbbells while punching, as punching with such a heavy weight actually has the opposite effect, it slows you down. The highest I would go is 24 ounce gloves; although I personally prefer 16ouncers. You should train to punch harder with something that is heavier than your fighting/sparring gloves, but lighter than a 1kg dumbbell.

    If you use boxing wraps, Coach, how long are they?

  • @flash5791
    @flash5791 6 месяцев назад

    I mean the idea of the technique is right, but the showcase is terrible(coming from someone who has studied and trained like Mike for years)
    Ur leaving chin up, moving hands to the back so you can punch which delays the punch, the rolls are decent could get some more work, but the hands as I talked is a big mistake which could lead to getting Koed also i noticed dropping hands after throwing a couple times, not as big of an issue as the moving hands to the back so you can throw but still. Overall keep working and studying
