I used a wire saw many years ago and found out the saw worked better if I used a tree limb to make a bow out of it. I was able to cut the branch from the top down without any problem. Even a regular saw and chain saw will bind cutting from the bottom.
Thanks for the video, IP2A. I just came across this video and am interested in your content. As a Constitutional Conservative, 2A proponent, hunter, camper, conversationalist, and general outdoorsman, don't use the tree as your knife sheath. The saw may have bound up because the limb's weight away from your foot pinched down and bound the saw. The same would happen with a hand saw. You too have a blessed week. God bless you.
I thought that might have been the case as well, but the cut wasn't very deep to allow the log to pinch the cable. I should have made a bow saw, but I was hesitant that there wouldn't be enough downward pressure.
the wire saws do that when you cut from underneath, the weight of the log is pushing down as you saw through trapping it so they tend to stick try propping up the other end of the log so it doesn’t fall when cut
Thank you for the advice. It's hard to see in the video, but the cut wasn't very deep to allow for pinching on the cable. I think I was doing something else wrong. I managed to fix the saw, and I'm going to try again. This time I will use a flexible branch to make a bow saw, and see if that helps. Thank you for watching and commenting.

I should have tried the bow method. The saw bound up rather quickly, I don't think the cut was deep enough to pinch the saw cable.
Thanks for the info , stay safe ..
