His brotherly relationship with Marcus, the bonds he'd formed with Baird and Cole, and keeping focused on their mission that could very well end the war is probably what kept him going.

Yeah, that boss fight with the giant fish is one of the amazing fights in my opinion. Because it shows that the Locust doesn’t have control over all creatures in the Hollow. And Jonesy, that fish has a name that the game doesn’t say. But that was called “Leviathan” Biggest fish monsters on Sera. And they dominate any unmarked water places on Sera I believe. 😊❤️

Don’t feel bad about that part. We all had difficulty on that and you are lucky you are playing on normal because on Hardcore and Insane difficulty, the boss fight goes on longer as the Leviathan changes it’s attack patterns. 😊.
Gears of War 2 is still great and shows its dark sides compared to Gears 1. Amazing video Jonesy! Now regarding to the whole Doms wife scene. I can understand your view of the situation, that Marcus should stepped in, but I think Dom would personal do it no matter what. Some made a interesting point by saying: When Marcus is walking away and looks back, it seems to imply he was waiting to hear a second gunshot, and then continued walking when he realized Dom wasn't going to commit suicide. Ofc that scene is all subjective to each own, but I thought that was interesting point of view, you dont have to agree with it. :) P.S. Ive never seen someone laughin at that scene like you did and it did caught me off guard. xD (Not attacking you just to be clear ♡)
Sucks what happened to Maria; this scene is kind of hard to watch, at times...but it is one of the most memorable scenes in the story, and really makes you feel bad for Dom. RIP Maria. Also, Marcus hinting at a way to sneak in, was reference to cut content where they'd sneak into Nexus disguised as Locust, via wearing their uniforms (hence why Marcus was holding a Locust helmet). I think that would've been too silly, and Dom wanting to go on a killing spree sound more believable for him to do.
IMO, GOW 2 has the most emotional story in the series, and yeah we seen a lot of characters d34ds, like Kim, Tai and both Carmine Brothers, but aside the Operation hollow storm, the core of this game story is DOM's search for his family, the man has been looking for them for so long and the closes he comes, the farther he gets, and the way to end this part of the story, finding his wife, "alive, well", that sadly how Dom's mental state has been for most of the time... and Sadly it has to come from Marcus his "brother in arms" has to tell him thats not real... Playing It is a well done scene in the series cause we shouldn't care about this character we just got learn, we'v never meet Maria, we got to know she' his wife, but you ever think about her until this moment, and yet it works so well, beacuse of Dom's emotions and how he's affected, and the relationship you know he has with her, that makes it sad.
