"before they worked for SEGA" Except their first song Open Your Heart was made for Sonic, and this song was used in NASCAR Arcade. So no, they've done stuff for Sega from the start.
It's time to get ready to go (ready to go) It's time to party down again We can go for it all (for it all) We know you think we're crazy We're on dangerous ground But once we start, we can never ever stop Who is the fool this time? (fool this time) You're gonna set our hearts on fire We can push for the top (for the top) We show you how to play the game Watch our, our aim is true Step back you, it's our turn to fly It's time to get ready to go (ready to go) It's time to party down again, yeah We can go for it all (for it all) We know you think we're crazy We're on dangerous ground But once we start, we can never ever ever ever stop
Both came out in the early 90s with hard-rock as a part of the aesthetic. (Sonic mostly got his rock on in the early 2000s but there were still songs like "Sonic Boom" and "Fastest Thing Alive") plus... there are kaiju fights in both series.... oh wait... this isn't even a Sonic song... is it?
@@Takimeko Sons of Angels! Yeah! I was trying to remember what the old name was! In any case, I love good old Ron Wasserman Power Rangers music and I love Crush 40! Glad I grew up with those tunes.
I am unable to find any reliable source that says it was made in 1994. The most I've found is that he was the sound director for Sonic Adventure, and decided it was best that he didn't sing so he contacted Johnny. It ties in too much to be a coincidence. Where did you hear 1994?
Er...why was it recorded in 94? Was there a purpose in them recording it? And why is it so specific with Sonic Adventure's story? I've seen the 94 thing before but I can't find any sources.
I know this comment is 7 years old, but... Open Your Heart seems to be the first song Crush 40 worked on as a group, although the band was formed 2 years after Adventure was released for the Nascar game. Jun had previously worked on other Genesis games, notably Sonic 3 and Sonic 3D Blast, and Johnny has done vocals for other bands and an array of other performances prior to Adventure. Takeshi Taneda has sorta always been Jun’s go-to bassist as far as I can find, and they’ve gone through a few drummers, so I wouldn’t say those are all too notable. Just felt like typing out a paragraph about these guys, lol.
@@tendayimichaelchinyerere1843 Ok first of all my comment was so poorly written so I would like to give you context. This song is played in the sonic bumper engine, THATS why I mentioned sonic I'm so sorry if I made you upset but that was none of my intentions at all

I wish people would quit calling this "the sonic band"
They are crush 40, simple as that.
People probably do that because 99% of people got exposed to them from Sonic
Imagine posting a reply to a 7 year old comment
@@CiderVG okay, no one cares.
@@LelouchOnTwi I care
@@CiderVG and most of their songs are for/from Sonic games
I know it isn't, but it sure would suit them a hell of a lot better than their current one.
(Actually it feels more like a Team Chaotix theme )
@TheTrueMoristhecat I'm a Crush 40 cover musician, and yes, those notes are almost exactly the same as Revvin' Up, except for the last one.
You're gunna set our hearts on fire!
This has the feeling and energy of a Power Rangers song.

@@SonicPAJ No, it is not a Sonic song. I think this was in Nascar Arcade, though. One of those songs they did under the old "Sons of Angels" name.
