This was posted a year ago this week, and I was standing there when it was recorded, actually making a poorer recording myself, and tonight, watching it again, I am struck with the profundity of it all. Bill had such an impact on the banjo world that time has yet to mark, and this young lad Jonnny may well go on to do the same in his own way. I am honored to call them both my friends. Would that I could achieve at the age of 60, what Jonny has gained at the age of 9, to have played with Bill Keith. Such a legacy, indeed. Thank you Fred, for what shall remain in my mind, as one of the finest moments in my musical life. This was truly sweet.

Bill is a lovely guy. This year at grey fox he could not play because of a hand problem, so he was joined onstage with 3 other banjo players who all played and talked with Bill about music and techniques. I hope bill recovers soon and well.

Good listening. I copied Bill Keith from Bill Monroe version recording. Good to hear he didn't change it much. I don't like to change or add something. It took lots of looping to get it right.😀

If the kid can't keep up, eject him.
