About the recipe book, I have a scrapbook that my Nana made for my Granddad when they realized the cancer wasn't going away and Granddad would need to be able to cook for himself. It's what I would save if the house was on fire. I have started my own scrapbook that has recipes from people who have now passed on. For people that love to cook, having those recipes from people you love is an absolutely irreplaceable thing. Everyone should start one.
What a lovely memory you have from your grandparents. We agree, these family recipes shouldn't be lost, it's a great way to connect with those we love who are no longer with us. Keeping their memory alive through the sharing and enjoyment of food 🥰
@@SortedFood in my book, I have recipes that my fiancé's grandmother wrote down for me. She passed less than a year after she wrote that. I don't think it's something he had ever considered doing before but I know he appreciates that I can still make her corn pudding. My advice, start gathering, and do it quickly.
I also have a bunch of magazine recipes and my own recipes. It's a good variety.

I have a very similar thing, except it's a small "book of life". It includes the most adorable tips with hearts and smileys, like "Don't forgot to dust behind and on top of the books in the shelf!"
Still makes me miss them to bits every time I read through it

Mike’s innocently ecstatic face at the Slush Puppy Machine was a Christmas Joy to Behold..! It reminded me of James’ frenetic & childlike unwrapping of presents… Mike’s face was absolutely my favourite moment…! (The shower was def a close 2nd… :)
The weirdest part of shower cam is Barry holding an iPad in there.

Gifting the recipe book to the right person that Ebbers bought for Jamie would be a really wholesome and sentimental Christmas/Birthday present! It would be something that I would’ve loved to have gifted either of my late nan’s, because they were both very traditional housewives who cooked a lot, and this book would’ve allowed them to collate many important family memorabilia’s to pass down through the family rather than being left as distant memories that we never realised the importance of until it was too late
just a head up with the slush puppy machine, use apple juice. the flavoring will cut through the apple juice and it freezes better with less separation.

The Slush Puppy maker is sooo nostalgic. My mom was the lunchroom manager at a private church school and they had one in the lunchroom that kids could get with their lunch. I was a frequent visitor/helper and I constantly drank Slush Puppies. Cherry was my favorite!!
At first I thought the sorted gift pile was a pair of sorted socks. Now I really want a pair of sorted socks!

I would LOVE that recipe book. And the price is completely reasonable. I paid more than that for my bullet journal! It's a totally standard price for a quality blank book, let alone one that well organized with conversion tables and whatnot.

The Slush Puppie machine is super nostalgic for me! I didn't know it was in the UK as well, I thought it was a Canada only thing. We had a machine at my local Canex when I lived on the base.

I’ve been watching a lot of Best Ever Food Review Show and it’s so interesting seeing how common and actually necessary it is for so many people in so many countries to smoke their meat. From Vietnam to South Africa, people in villages who live in stickbuilt homes and farm or raise crops don’t usually have a fridge or even electricity so it’s essential that they smoke their meats. Smokehouses are so common right by the fish market and at home they have special setups and areas just for smoking fish and meats so they’ll last for weeks. Then they either eat it like jerky or pound and rehydrate it to cook with. It’s truly a normal and required way that allows them to enjoy meat without it spoiling.
The recipe book is a great idea for a wedding gift. Have each guest bring a recipe to add to it. The bride and groom have a great start to their kitchen as well as reminder of the guest who shared their special day.

sometimes, there's nothing better than keeping something in the physical form.
It sounds and actually feels like a cop out buying someone a recipe book or kitchen related book because it doesn’t feel like any effort was put into finding a gift for the recipient, but I love getting cookbooks as gifts because it gives me guided freedom and instructed creativity to try new things I wouldn’t without the book

The cookbook scrapbook is such a great idea! I have a 3 ring binder that belonged to my mom that is exactly what Ben described. Lots of recipes from magazines and newspapers but also bunches written down that my mom got from people. Now as an adult I treasure it since she died when I was a kid. It’s nice to have them and see her thought process as she wrote her notes and additions to the recipes
Something I don’t think you’ve done, but I keep waiting for, is proper boozy advent calendars.
If you Amazon Drinks By The Dram a gin advent calendar would be perfect for Ebbers, though Barry might prefer rum and Jamie a whiskey one.

The shower clip and the bloopers! Haha! That was awesome! My dad has a black cookbook that has all his recipes written in it. We joke a lot that we can use the cookbook and cook it to make soup it’s so stained! Now he doesn’t even need to look at the recipes. He just knows them by heart. 💚

Shower beers are one of life's simplest pleasures. I will die on this hill.
I remember my mother having a bunch of those "empty books" filled with recipes from her grandmother. Recipe pages from magazines, etc. It was the best way to keep recipes back in the day.
Assuming the studio doesn't have shower facilities, then Someone's family was very giving this year for a gag... And yet, I kinda think this isn't exactly a strange thing for the lads.

Christmas is a time of excess, where most families sit down and eat turkey or ham with all the trimmings etc.
