- I pulled this plug out of a stubborn trimmer motor. The result of being run with the choke on - likely because the carburetor was filthy and the machine had no operational low speed circuit.
- Авто/Мото
A - Find out why it is a problem.
B - Fix the problem you found.
C - Replace the plug with a new one.
Bruhhhh😂😂
😮
I was going to say. Why are they junked up like that. Could it be a clogged catalytic causing bad pressure . Engine isn’t breathing right? Definitely rich
@@abelesquivel4087it can be a lot of things. My case for example should just be the floats in my carb on my 80s k10 pickup. Rebuilt the carb and I’m just going to clean the plugs because they have maybe 15 minutes of run time but I believe the floats being so far out of adjustment was letting the carb way over fuel and foul out my plugs.
Nah, lil high grit sandpaper, most of the time the plug aint bad, its just fouled or gapped incorrectly
I always use a torch near a battery.
After seeing this I decided to buy a new one🙂
or get an old toothbrush and clean it with some gasoline...although i bet you know that
I’m more worried about why there was all that oil on your spark plug in the first place😅
I was having a hell of a time clearing a spark plug it just got a little bit of extra gas and oil on it, I tried all kinds of crap that just didn't work! I saw your video did it exactly worked flawlessly thank you !!
I didn't think anybody cleaned spark plugs anymore. Learn something new every day.
I just personally replace plugs they're really cheap
In automotive engines I do for sure. this was out of a leaf blower that had fouled the plug
Theyre 26 bucks each for a Mercedez
@@Deathridaz714 If you can’t afford premium care don’t buy that type of car, stay in your lane.
@@Deathridaz714 Sounds like your not materialistic like other folks trying to impress others with depreciated objects…
@@illegal_amigo lmao
I like the way you think sir.... if it ain't broke don't throw it out.
We can all agree this video has inspired us to buy New spark plugs 😂
The last thing you want to do is spend $3 to replace it. I recommend this method. Old plugs are better over time. They are like wine.
Now I ain’t just being argumentative… but plugs ain’t no $3 anymore! Some of those day IR’s go for over $25 each!
@@DEInTheGarage RockAuto… they have plugs for a 2010 Honda for $1.83. They have iridium NGKs for $10. Those are as expensive as they offer. That $2 plug at Advance is $7 btw.
No. I’m not affiliated…. just been a customer for years. I still hit up Advance & Autozone… even oem occasionally (if required)
This may get you by but plugs do go bad ask anyone who rides a 2 stroke. Your plug goes bad you can clean it all you want it'll just pop sputter and die.
I mean on small stuff like that, that’s a 2 stroke plug (NGK BPMR7A) they are like 2-3$ a piece and you should always have spares for your equipment, heating them and cooling them like that can cause cracks in the porcelain because you cool it to quick and it’s just easier to fix the issue (re tune the carb that’s running super rich) and replace. Saves time trying to figure out lack of spark
Lighter/torch to burn off the fuel and then my dad has this nifty spark plug sand blaster that I use a couple times each year
Had to do a plug change in the wife's SUV, they started to have that not enough gap and one was failing to fire. Set me back 40 bucks since it uses some non V8 plug I could just rob from the stash 😉
You mean too much gap.
Just make a spark plug feel like it's a glow plug!
I’ve always done the wire brush no torch
Very entertaining Douglas.👍👍
It is not fixing, it is breaking the spark plug with a wire brush. Totally wrong, heat up and spray cold chemicals. It may crack the spark plug. Over heating may break the spark plug seal. Wire brushing makes a conducting metal paint over and failure to spark.
What did you spray on it?
Carb cleaner or brake cleaner
Thanks ben
I just use a wire brush and it works great, never done it with spark plugs on a car tho but I bet it’ll be the same
For the price of a plug and the headaches even a thought to be fully cleaned and perfectly fine plug can cause its not worth it unless you have to have it running to finish a job thats 20 miles from the nearest new plug. Thenbif thats the case just give it a quick cleaning and drag some abrasive between the electrode and ground strap, blow off with some cleaner and run with it until a brand new plug can be had. No reason to spend more than enough time to get it to run long enough to dinish up for now!
I been cleaning some oil dirty ones that have been causing misfires and I’ll go for months without issues and clean them again. Only had to replace one that was cracked. Great video mate!
That’s what I was thinking just wire brush it and use brake cleaner
DON'T DO THIS! Don't set for to brake clean. Depending on the additives it can create phosgene gas. Even in tiny amounts, it can be very bad for you, even fatal. There are better alternatives when you know heat will be applied.
Put Hot plug in that Cylinder or fix the problem properly. All that oil looks like a broken piston ring or a bad valve guide. Sounds expensive, is expensive.
Put a hot plug in and get rid of the vehicle or spend 3k plus to fix it right.
I drop them in lacquer thinner for an hour or two. then a torch.
In my best Greta voice... How Dare You!
Молодец, красава, только вот проблема, пробивать будет если внутри не вычистил нагар
def a trust the process
Best cleaning ive seen personally
I feel kgf-2 movie bgm scene sound🔥😅😂
Hey better move that battery 😮
Is petrol or something different?
After you use fire torch what Is second
Note, dont wire brush an iridium plug. It will damage.
What should you use instead?
@@Mohapi_Tau should replace them. If the engine you are using them on calls for iridium plugs then you really should be just replacing. Otherwise, oven cleaner or a small torch to burn off deposits might give short term relief to issues caused by old plugs.
@@TheMoffBoy I've already replaced my plugs & the oil keeps getting on them, I know I may have to do an engine rebuild but not now. In fact I'll do it in the near future, for now however cleaning them seems to be the solution.
@@Mohapi_Tau how do you know it's oil? Assume you have fouled plugs? In which case, this could easily be a mixture issue. If you are running with fuel injection (assume so considering the use of iridium's) then likely a maf or more likely an O2 sensor issue. Possibly even an exhaust leak causing the ECU to dump fuel. Also a chance of a bad cat. If you have blue smoke then yeah likely oil. Believe it or not, most common cause of oil in the combustion chamber is either a faulty pcv valve or leaking valve stem seal, which usually is only a starting issue.
What kind of torch is that?
Blow torch
Lol thought is was a joke at first… but it works!!!! ❌💪🏽🧸
What is the spray you are spraying them with?
Carburetor cleaner
Or use a plug sand blaster.
What cause the spark plug to file out?
worn piston rings, oil passes through them and not all get burned and soaks the sparkplug. Also, worn out valve stems.
Well that's easy👍
Suppose to gap them at 55
Very "smart" having a battery next to the flames😅😅😅😅😅
Yeah up!
J6Y.... under 3 bucks! auto Z.
U can always have/buy a few spare around. New in the box😊
WMart $1.78😊😊
just replace it
Все детство свечу зажигалкой прожигала, иногда и спичками, капец новшество
Just replace the plug. And also heating it up then spraying brake clean to cool it down will damage it or crack it you you should never do this
The remnants of the metal wire brush on the insulator can cause problems😮
Just blow it off with some air
Answer: buying new ones their $12
💪
Just buy new, kind of like jets for small engines and morotcycles/watercraft/atvs and shit, just replace the jets cause they are cheap and youll mess up the jet size cleaning it out with a piece of wire....just replacebit unless its an emergency and you are 20 miles from getting new and you just need to make it work for a few minutes!!
👇🏼 If you’re here for the comments too.
7-10$ a spark plug is cheap for what it does to your vehicle just replace it with a new one but before replacing inspect the spark plug it will tell you what condition your motor is in if you don’t know how to tell you can research it there’s plenty of info about it
Engine problem fuel heat range n
Or ....... Replace the 3 dollar plug.
Ελλαδα Ελλαδα Ελλαδα Ελλαδα Ελλαδα Ελλαδα.
Buy a new spark plug for 3 bucks ya dingus
That won’t fix the problem.
А в конусе вся грязь осталась
Отстой а не чистка

Thats a good ideal, flames next to a battery
To be honest bud, I just wanted those words out there on the internet :-) I am with you on the new housings being a more cost effective option.
