That was an amazing performance by both of them. My only question is, "What the hell is wrong with all those people who walked on by?" This would have stopped me in my tracks. It was a world class performance.

Many of them may have had appointments they need to get to, many of them may have heard the busker before, and of course, most of the people watching them would have been in front of them, not visible on camera.

@@raytrebor Of course they did. Everyone's busy. NO need to stop and listen. A person can buy a $300 ticket to hear the same thing on stage than proudly boast having paid $300 to see someone perform.

@@raytrebor People get so caught up in their own stuff that they don't bother to stop and listen. There was an experiment posted here on RUclips where Joshua Bell played the violin in the DC Metro on a multimillion-dollar Stradivarius and very few people stopped to listen. Some children stopped, at least until they got dragged away by their parents.
I remember when I was in college and I walked out of my dorn to go to class and I saw a large hawk that had caught a squirrel or a rabbit or something and was consuming it on the lawn and everyone was just walking by not looking (and this was before cell phones were as ubiquitous as they are today) and it just shocked me that this beautiful natural wonder was there for everyone to see and no one cared. I stood there for a while to appreciate the hawk before I moved on.
Yes, we're all busy people but we could also die tomorrow. And people on their deathbeds never say "I'm so glad I made it to all my appointments on time." I can't even tell you what year in uni it was or what class I was going to, but I will always remember that hawk. More people should stop and listen to the music.

If you only hear the music they sing, you're missing half of the beauty of this performance. You need to watch their interactions with each other. It's just amazing that this all occurred by pure chance. It has my vote for the best impromptu performance by two people who didn't know each other or know of each other. Best of luck to you both.

I arrived at Waterloo station about a week ago to meet with a friend. As I got through the ticket barrier, There was that amazing operatic voice feeling the air . I was intrigued and followed the voice . When I got close and saw Stephen, I had to stop and watch for the next 30 minutes, spell bound by his rich warm and powerful voice. I stayed for several songs from Les Mis, then he sang "you ll never walk alone " and "The Unchained Melody" in the most beautiful, moving way I ve ever seen ! Stephen, you were a pure ray of sunshine in the middle of that busy crazy station, you made my day. Later on we went to see a play, which was disappointing so your singing more than made up for it. Thank you ! Don't give up, keeeeeeeep SINGING !!! :-) :-)

It only happens when you put yourself out there and Make your own luck. Dont listen to these stupid ads online. Get out there and sing or play! I entertained the Banksy queue for hours. Most people were touched. The staff of Browns weren't so pleased but I ended up playing piano for them. Give it a go and make those connections if you have musical talent

Incredible isn’t powerful enough to describe this. I wish there would be such talented people singing in the street in my town, but no such luck. ☹️

Possibly one of the lovliest videos I've seen on the Internet. Spontaneous, natural and stunning. The chemistry between you both is wonderful.
Best of luck Stephen. You have an incredible talent.

Have screened RUclips for almost all other available duets of this piece. Many of them very well set up, indoors, with the best recording techniques at hand. And yet, this performance, recorded by a handhold mobile camera is by far the best permanence I've found. The common musical enjoyment they display is enormous. Her generous gift of singing with him is heartwarming. They have both great voices, but he is the best performer of the male part of all I've seen, in my opinion. He has just a stunning voice, it's richness is incredible! Can not stop watching this!

I have no idea how people can just walk by, they must be blind and totally deaf. Or is it that London is just dripping with this type of busking 😳😳😳.
Well I can’t stop watching this and there are several postings, it’s just heavenly. What a gift to stumble across something like this LIVE. thank you for posting it. I am smiling so much. I shared today with my granddaughters who love phantom ❤️❤️❤️ - they were equally in love with this.BRAVO 👏👏👏👏👏❤️🌹

    No more talk of darkness
    Forget these wide-eyed fears
I'm here, nothing can harm you
My words will warm and calm you
    Let me be your freedom
    Let daylight dry your tears
I'm here, with you, beside you
To guard you and to guide you
Say you love me every waking moment
Turn my head with talk of summertime
Say you need me with you now and always
Promise me that all you say is true
That's all I ask of you
    Let me be your shelter
    Let me be your light
You're safe, no one will find you
Your fears are far behind you
    All I want is freedom
A world with no more night
    And you, always beside me
To hold me and to hide me
Then say you'll share with me
    One love, one lifetime
Let me lead you from your solitude
Say you want me with you here, beside you
Anywhere you go, let me go too
That's all I ask of you
    Say you'll share with me
    One love, one lifetime
Say the word and I will follow you
    Share each day with me
    Each night, each morning
    Say you love me
    You know I do
Love me that's all I ask of you
Love me, that's all I ask of you

I happened upon this video, scrolling through FB videos. This one was the last video to scroll through. It is now one of my all time favorites! It is so real and spontaneous. This busker guy Stephen is great, but man, who is this gracious, most beautiful Celinde Schoemaker??? She is an angel, who has descended from celestial courts above to brighten our lives. She is so beautiful and amazing in every way. What a cool experience this must have been for him. How wonderful to have this talent performed on the street spontaneously like this. Bravo!

Just WOW! What a performance! For me, this beats any Hollywood scene I've ever seen. The setting, characters, inter-action, chemistry, talent, body language in this "You're out of her league" scene is so magical, romantic, heartwarming, and funny. They made it look like they got married eventually (on a November 10) and had lots of happy grandkids!!
