  • Panbride House dating from 1856 and designed by James McLaren. It was built as a house for a flax merchant. The former scutching ponds are located just to the south of the house, and the flax works were on the other side of the road. When the flax spinning ceased, the ponds were used for fishing, and featured in a James McIntosh Patrick picture. It is understood that the actor Peter Cushing spent summer holidays in the house.
