i took a 6 month break from cooking/baking and i forgot that chocolate is sensitive to heat. put it in the microwave in 40 second intervals and it seized. i didnt even realize what the heck happened because i never burned chocolate before. this is definitely a low point in my cooking life
Thanks so much. I thought I knew what I was doing, did everything wrong until I watched this video. wow she made this easy and now my buckeyes look great..
It's 8pm and my 5th grader wants to make chocolate covered strawberries for her class.... for tomorrow. I don't have a double boiler but I'm so happy I saw your video. The glass bowl over a pot of water should work great. Thanks!
Is there anything you would suggest for melting white chocolate? should white chocolate also have 32% cocoa butter? I want to make chocolate dipped pretzels but I'm more partial to the white chocolate than dark chocolate.
One tip, not all ovens and chocolates are made evenly so sometimes the microwavr method won't need a 15 seconds interval, sometimes it was less and that was definitely my case
Thanks for the tips. I like dark chocolate covered almonds with dry cranberries. 75% or greater since I'm a diabetic. No sugar or oils. Plus I like bitter chocolate.
Looked a many videos on how to cook and choose the right chocolate and cooking method yours was the one stop shop 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ information thank you so much.Cliff the london cabbie.
I tried making peanut butter truffles and did literally everything wrong I used hershey milk chocolate I used hot boiling water I added water to try and make it more "saucy" It literally is as simple as, you need patience when melting chocolate
Thank you for the clear explanation! I bought loads of chocolate barrs. lol. It is so much fun to do it myself. Can I also melt chocolat and then add peanuts and raisins and nuts and then let it dry again?
Very helpful! And LOVE the tip about using the crock pot on low. I think that's the way I'm going to go - the crock pot! Thank you so much. Thumbs up. I'm subscribing.
Thank you and you made it very easy . My daughter and I are experimenting with snacks And the little tips are very helpful but one about the water cause that was my first mistake the coconut oil I would have never had thought that it Thank you
My melted chocolate never gets that runny. I'm in the process of making peanut butter cups now and I think I'll add some coconut oil to the second half of the chocolate that I put over the peanut butter before reheating what's left in my jar and see if that will work better. I'm using Nestles Semi-sweet chocolate chips.
I just melted chocolate for the 1st time & I didn't have coconut oil do I used a tiny bit of avocado oil 🤔 is that ok? 😬😂 & by the way I really love that measuring cup you used in the microwave, where'd you get it from? Ty for this great video, it's exactly what I was looking for! 👍
Hello, I do my chocolate melting in the microwave and I've just spent an hour trying to find someone to simply tell me what the purpose of adding coconut oil to chocolate when melting it and does this make your chocolate soft with no 'SNAP' to it? I also noticed you didn't 'Seed" the chocolate and am wondering why? Please explain, Thank you.
Thank you for saving me time and money! I was about to use butter in a pan and try to melt it that way…I can smell the burnt chocolate just thinking about it
Everytime i use the microwave and try melt choco It always turn hard and Burnt Pitch lack can someone help me (my microwave is old and chinese version so i cant change temp)
If chocolate gets burnt, you can add tea spoon of boiling water to mix in with it, and keep adding boiling water until it's liquid again, don't know any other method other than that to get burnt thick chocolate back to being liquid again without adding water?
YOU'RE MY HERO!!!! I burnt the ever living hell out of couverture chocolate!! lmao!!! I used a pyrex dish in the micro, and put it on about 5 minutes!!! Had to hammer and chizel it off the confounded thing! But that's what the directions told me to do.. So I blamed the chocolate, bought some extra dark chocolate, and same thing happened.. so I knew it was me oh Lord! Thanks for the film!!! Dummies like me should stay out of the kitchen!!! lmao!!
What if you don't have a microwave, double boiler or crock pot to melt chocolate. Is there a nother way to get it melted? If so, please let me know. Thanks. 😊
I think you could use any heat-proof container over the pot of boiling water. For example, you could just use a smaller pot over the boiling pot and it would work (as long as it doesn’t fall in).
Thanks for watching! What would you like to see Nicole make next?
