I loved the focus on Huckleberry, it was kinda seeing a horse farm thru his dog eyes. But I must say Tiny played a strong supporting role + it was nice 2 see her :).
Finding a reliable sitter for any animal is hard. After going through a few bad fits (they came with recommendations from friends but didn't meet my expectations), I found one that does this as a full time job. He's way more expensive but, the peace of mind is worth every dime.
It is always a pleasure to view your recorded chores and hear about your agenda with plans and troubles for finding a permanent place. It is a problem as old as my eighty years of memories as is your complaints about your back. Thank you for sharing your time with us. 💚
Girl, you are such a worker! Where do you get the energy to take care of all these horses; I think there are 12 now?! Not to mention all the chores that go with cleaning up the property daily, locating, picking up and delivering feed and hay to the property, and making sure the shaky plate is in good working order! He is very good commpa y for those who love dogs. He watches out for the horses also in his unique dog way. 🎉❤😊 what would life be without a dog & cat🎉❤😂 ? Once they get us trained their little selves are endearing.
Thank you for not using rodenticide! That's so important for the environment. (When birds of prey eat rodents killed with pesticide, they can get sick and die or their babies die, which means fewer birds of prey to eat the rodents which actually leads to more rodents overall!)
My friend’s dog ate a rat on their property that someone else poisoned. Her dog didn’t survive.Poison isn’t a great way to go if the rodents can walk a ways.
we learned lax ligaments are related to mineral deficiency of manganese. of course one just does not add manganese by itself but from a food source. this is old (vintage) veterinarian stuff. can look for references if you are interested. thanks for your 'work'

Brilliant! I'd been hoping to see more of Huckleberry, and here's a whole day of him being a good boy "helping"! My favorite part was him playing fetch across the stream. But the whole video was good, it was great to see a lot of the chores and a bit of time with the horses, plus supervisor Tiny!

You’re such a great mom to your animals. You show everyday how aware of everyone’s needs and and wants. Your thoughtful and not a self centered or careless person You’re extremely good at assessing situations and their safety is always on your mind. Youre such a good example of what I should be doing to care for my 4 dogs and 5 cats and how I shouldn’t ever be lazy when it comes to breakfast and dinner and my large garden always needs watering and weeding and now harvesting too.
People tend to confuse grackles with starlings. Starlings are the short squat birds with speckles. Grackles are a little more sleek and shiny and have yellow eyes.
When you live in a city like Austin, TX, it’s not so wonderful to hear them (so concentrated) and not slip in the bird poop. And it’s a substantial amount of bird poop. They roost in the trees on campus (Univ. of TX at Austin worked there for 18 years) and make one holy mess all over the sidewalks - sat the capitol 3 blocks away. One year, the guys at Maintenance shot off blanks during the grackles’ roosting time so they’d go roost somewhere else. It never worked permanently. They are a protected species so blanks was about all one could do.

I use round bales and I get old leaky stock tanks, cut the bottoms out and put them over the netted bales. The rounded edge is safe. When the net is almost empty, I remove it and they clean it up pretty good. I hope you find a nice place. 🐴🐕

I mean not only do I live in a house on a small block, I also live in Australia so the prices would very wildly. I hope you can find the right place for you and your family, and by family I mean humans and animals, soon. You give your horses such a great life and I hope you can continue to do what you do, taking time to help horses that others found too 'hard' and just needed time and someone to listen to them.

The black birds look like grackles. When they migrate, it looks like a "grackle river" in the sky - sometimes it stretches all the way across the sky: spectacular!

The little birds look like starlings. If they fly as a tight group and do acrobatics, then that's a good indicator.

I totally agree! I know it’s probably extremely difficult to accomplish, but I’d love to see her with a ranch and a in charge of a nonprofit. I can see her running a rescue, taking in horses, and having help. She’s in my prayers!

I almost died when you said 2M, but then I realised, I have no idea what property is worth! I mean not only do I live in a house on a small block, I also live in Australia so the prices would very wildly. I hope you can find the right place for you and your family, and by family I mean humans and animals, soon. You give your horses such a great life and I hope you can continue to do what you do, taking time to help horses that others found too 'hard' and just needed time and someone to listen to them.

@@jeno264 They are always so proud of themselves when they do that. Maybe it obscures their scent because they seem like they act like secret squirrel once they do it.
It's an instinctual urge to camouflage their smell to facilitate hunting.

Tiny is the perfect barn manager while being incredibly cute, and Huckleberry is such a sweet boy, plus he has such a beautiful face! He is one happy doggo, and it was fun to experience a whole day in his life 🐶❤❤❤.
