I love these fiat bravas I'm still on the hunt for a 1.6 ELX model I know there's a small handful left in the UK if you own a ELX model please get in touch. I agree Matty these bravas are timeless design for me the rear of the car is the best, pure 90's nostalgia
There are sooo few ELX models left. I honestly stumbled across this Brava and basically dropped everything to go and get it. If you find one (even if it's not ideal) buy it!
Actually found a 1.8 ELX in my area owned by an old fellow in a bungalow but he's stubborn as a brush typically he said it's not for sale I'm hoping he'll change his mind he can't keep it forever 🤞🏻
Sometimes you see videos here on youtube where many adjectives are used to enthusiastically report on a new purchase that has just been made. Fortunately, this video has simply limited itself to facts and good taste. Bravo!
Great car there Matty - haven't seen one of them for ages. Late 90s-early 00s Fiat's didn't seem to last that long compared to other makes but it's good that that one is still going! Shame about the beamer but it did last longer than most others did.
@@MattysCars yeah probably a bit of both although most cars went through that phase of being worth nothing a few years ago when car prices weren’t insane so it was probably just the rot as you do still see other cars of the same generation as those Fiats around a decent amount like corsa bs and golfs
I had a 1.6 ELX in the same colour as yours. Mine had plush blue velour upholstery. Fantastic car and replaced it with a Ford escort which wasn't as good.
Gosto muito desse carro, tenho um Fiat Brava no Brasil, carro muito bom... Tem 11 anos que eu tenho ele..., maneiro essa versão qoe voce mostra no vídeo, tem até teto solar
Love it! I’ve just got a Y Reg Bravo, wasn’t keen on the styling at first but the handling won me over, will be taking it to the festival of the unexceptional ☺️
One of my mother's friends bought this car as new, in golden colour I think, and I only remember that it needed major repairs (presumably on warranty) within the first 2 years.
amazing car my grandad had a little bravo after his mk1 punto he loved it and so did i was nippy as fuck sexy as fuck and cheap to run.very rare cars now adays.hope you keep a hold of it :)
Amazing memories. My uncle had a Brava but in the darker green colour and I always loved the way it looked. If I don't hold on to it it will go to a good home for sure
It's a curious name for a car. 'Bravo' simply means 'good' in Italian. For example, I could say "Sei un bravo presentatore" to call you a good presenter, or "sono bravo a suonare il flauto dolce" to claim that I am good at playing the recorder. I know, self-praise is no recommendation and all that. 'Brava' is simply the feminine form of 'bravo'. Who decided that one body shape was in effect masculine, and the other feminine?
Thanks for your kind Italian words! I guess they could have always used "Buono" but I think Brava still rolls of the tongue. Better than a load of letters and numbers as well
@@MattysCars Much better than letter-number soup, definitely. Problem is, giving names is tricky, as whatever word you choose will be an obscure local dialect word for genitalia somewhere in the world. I'm not fluent in Italian, so I could be wrong here, but I believe that bravo/brava are used for people, whereas buono/buona are used for things and abstracts.
Yikes . Now I know why we don’t have those in the USA 😂. However, we do have those same stupid air fresheners you have on your rear view mirror. 😅 Just playing. It’s not completely hideous. As long as you’re happy with it. I’ve owned a butt ugly bright yellow Ford Focus I truly loved. I sold it about a month ago…regrettably. 😢. But I’ve got 2 Mercs and a Volvo so I didn’t need 4 cars. But the little Focus was very similar to that fiat in terms of simplicity. And it never left me stranded. Put 134,000 miles on it and it never ever failed to start. And it was ridiculously fast for a hatchback. It only had a 2.3L engine. But it would move. Congrats on your new ride. Hope you don’t miss your Bmw too much 😎
That's rubbish about your E46 you sold! I once sold a motorbike I had spent over £4k restoring and the 20 year old I sold it to (I was 20 too) crashes it on the way home😭. I actually have an E46 330 and an E63 645ci at the moment but wanna get another 90s car. Weirdly when I was about 9 or 10 circa year 2000 I always used to look at these fiats and think "that's what I want when I'm older, I like the back lights"🤣 now you never see them at all!
Wouldn’t be a scouse summer without breaking out the shorts on the 1st of May
Gotta be done lad.
You have my genuine support in what you do here. The ashtrays in the back are for children while they ride to school.
Really appreciate your comment thank you! Yes how could I forget about the children🤦
Love this mate, very cool looking car and one that many people forget about! Hopefully I can see it soon
We'll make it happen man

Hey i have one 1.6 elx in white but I'll never sell it its my love i grew up with it
@@Steve-xm7tl I don't blame you when you've owned it for that long it's not just nostalgia but more sentimental value.

Yeah I guess it was either the rot or the fact that they were worth nothing that got them. I think that was the fate with the Mk1 Punto anyway

Love it my mate had one in red he had it for 8 years as his first car. He loved his. Seats were so comfy!
Quite an underrated car really looking back.
Sir, what is it with all these Fiat Bravas turning up on RUclips at the moment? It's not as if they are very common any more, is it!
I noticed that about 2 months after I bought the car Joseph! I'd like to think my tasteful purchase has prompted a Brava renaissance
@@MattysCars , quite possibly, sir!
There turning into classic cars😂😂
Good choice Matty, I like it!

I'd have been quite disappointed getting out of a ELX into an Escort.
I saw that you were selling that and i knew i couldnt afford it but I’m glad its being kept by you!
If I don't keep it it will go to a good home for sure

I prefer the styling of the Brava to the Bravo but the Bravo is still a stunner. Can't wait to see it at FOTU!
Love it
Wow - awesome car! Wish we'd had these in Australia!
Great cars
Lindo carro amigo, linda cor, tenho uma Fiat brava , amo esse carro, não vendo nunca, aqui no Brasil não se faz carros lindos assim mais .

I think the 90s was peak Fiat for both design and reliability
Very nice, I remember a lot of cars with similar colour, I like the shade. To me it looks like a Renault Laguna.
Interesting comparison. It says Citroën Xsara to me personally.
Much nicer looking than a Laguna! In my opinion anyway😁
The likes of the Xsara and Astra where similar shapes sort of saloon-esque but with a hatchback of course

Holy hell thats a fine looking automobile you have there, Matty.

Great period colour, think you may be selling this before they start salting the roads again.
Or storing it

Horrible when cars/ bikes fall into the wrong hands. I've always been drawn to the back lights of these cars
You do like your tin can cars 😂
She's a belter
Come on a classic car soon you don’t see them around no more on the roads aren’t seen one in years since the early 90s and 2000
I haven't seen one for years but they dropped off so quickly
Love it
