The Boise offense is much more balanced than most anyone realizes. They have passed and rushed for almost the same amount of yards. Been sacked 12 times with only 8 turnovers all year. On defense they are #2 nationally in sacks (51), #5 in TFL and #13 in 3rd downs allowed %. The yards against includes a lot of garbage time yards since they are ahead all the time.
I think people are suggesting bsu is not balanced bc in a game vs a talented roster like psu, if the run game fails to get bsu in 3rd and short, their passing game isn’t going to be the savior. And if BSU is down late, they’re not gonna be able to fight back with their passing game. Their passing game works bc of Jeanty and only Jeanty
Boise St is better than you think they are. Oregon needed two TDs on special teams to beat them. The MW Conference is loaded with NFL talent which is true for pretty much all D1 conferences now.
Agreed. Ashton Jeanty comes from a long line of MWC standouts who now play key roles on NFL teams--one of whom is arguably the best in the NFL--there is Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills, Jordan Love, QB, Green Bay Packers, Trey McBride, TE, Arizona Cardinals, Derek Carr, QB, New Orleans Saints, Davante Adams, WR, New York Jets, Matt Araiza, P, Kansas City Chiefs, Khalil Shakir, WR, Buffalo Bills, Logan Wilson, LB, Cincinnati Bengals, Romeo Doubs, WR, Green Bay Packers, Josh Oliver, TE, Minnesota Vikings, Bobby Wagner, MLB, Washington Commanders, and Daiyan Henley, LB, Los Angeles Chargers.
ND Is not winning a national championship and they should be made to get into a conference and every conference has to play a couple of ranked teams to make it fair for everyone
If Bowling Green had success moving the ball against Penn St, then why can't Boise State? All of these channels keep saying Penn St is going win easily never mentions the Bowling Green game. Another point is that Jeanty can be used in the passing game. This year they didn't really have to use him in that way because of his success in the running game. 2023 he had over 500 yards receiving. Yeah, Boise State pass defense is a weakness. But they are 2nd in the nation in sacks, SMU did have success getting to Drew Allar. I don't see why almost everyone thinks this is going to be a blowout. This will be a close game that can go either way.
It's because Bowling Green matched up better with Penn State than Boise State does. Bowling Green was heavy pass to TE Harold Fannin who is probably a late 1st round pick in the NFL draft. Boise runs and that's Penn States strength on defense
That was ages ago & Penn State had radio comms not working during that first half which is why the defense looked so out of whack. Also bowling Green matches up way better
Maybe you forgot Josh, but Penn State made the Fiesta Bowl what it is today. And regarding huge upsets, there's that game where major underdog PSU beat the world beater machine known as Miami led by Superman Vinny Testaverde.
The Battle of Good vs. Evil, 1987. I was an undergrad at Penn State then but too poor to fly to Phoenix so I was watching at home. Pete Giftopoulos made the game-winning interception. I think the neighbors came out to see what all the shouting was about.
I was at that game in Tempe. Miami showed up with attitude and got off the airplane wearing camo. The residents of Tempe were not having it. On game day, it was effectively a home crowd for the Lions. Linebacker U (then) showed that defense can make an “unstoppable” offense sitTF down.
BSU must play like they did against Oregon in order to beat PSU. Jeanty excelled against Oregon, however, BSU's X-factor will be QB Madsen who must connect with WR Cameron Camper who also had a big game against Oregon to take pressure off of Jeanty, while ultimately, Madsen must not turn over the ball like SMU did or BSU will face the same fate as SMU. As far as defense, BSU's front seven must pressure PSU's Allar. And don't let this game go into overtime--the MWC hasn't fared well this season in bowl games that go into OT. BSU 28 - PSU 27.
Amazing game. Ashton would become not only best player in college this year but if he wins he’ll be the greatest of all time…. If he’s not already. Imagine him carrying his team to the natty AND winning. He’s the one player in history who could make this a reality.

Win the turnovers battle, PSU rarely turns it over and they love taking it away. 3. Offensive line can't get destroyed like SMU. PSU has a great front 7, you either have to get the ball out quick or hope the line can hold up.
If we criticize (me included) Franklin for not winning “big” games, we should give him credit for winning the games he should. Since 2000, his record as a favorite of 7+ points is is 20-6-1, 16-0-1 at Penn State. He doesn’t lose these games. When favored by at least a TD, Penn State has won 24 consecutive games. All year, every single person has said “oh THIS is the upset for them,” and they fall flat on their face. The Lions were supposed to fail miserably like seven different times this year and the opposite happened each and every time. Another snooze fest tbh.
Penn State chokes in big games. Boise State's play caller in the booth was the head coach of Boise State when they started the winning streak. Dan Hawkins, Chris Petersen and Brian Harsin were from his system. Boise State this year is playing like they were when they beat Oklahoma. Everybody kept saying they will lose to Penn State like they did when they faced Oklahoma. Saying these things would motivate Boise to win and play much harder. Keep saying that Boise will lose and the Boise players will get very motivated to beat Penn State.
Penn State chokes in games they are not supposed to win. They are on like a 35 game win streak or something like that in games they are favored in. Don't mix the two up.
Hi guys. This game will not be competitive and jeantty will not score a touchdown. We are looking at 42-13 score for the game psu. For context I predicted the smu psu score exactly correct. I think you could also add in that if PSU were to match up with ND that’s basically an toss up and I’d favor UGA against PSU but it’s not the same as the last 2-3 years because of the quarterback situation. This year PSU is basically one upset away from a national title. I wouldn’t say it’s an upset over UGA because of the qb situation. It would still be a massive win.
I don't think the Bronco's defense will stop Penn State's prodding offense, and if Jeanty is stuffed, I don't think Boise has an answer. That said I think this will be a closer game than people think.
Before watching the video; first thoughts are Penn State loads the box and follows Jeanty everywhere. I think Jeanty is held under 100 yards rushing and forces the Boise State QB to beat them, Lions create pressure on defense and are too much on offense and beat Boise by 2 scores.
Penn state will definitely beat ND if they play. Georgia would be a little tougher but people seem to forget that Georgia only beat a 4-8 Kentucky team by 1 point and took them 8 OTs to beat a mediocre Georgia tech team. That’s not to mention their 2 losses to teams who didn’t even make the playoffs. So Georgia is definitely beatable too! Dont be surprised when PSU sneaks into the national championship game!!!

Facts . Thank you
PSU receivers = poor and for several years now. They can't get open and they can't beat press coverage.
Don't mix the two up.
not really tho....
Unfortunately ps by 14
Nah, fortunately. We Are
Herschel Walker of Georgia and Marcus Allen of USC vs Penn State. Barry Sanders record is safe.
How many yards he need
Herschel was a Walker...BUT Curt (Warner) was a RUNNER!!
@@gelato3299 132yds to beat Barry Sanders record
@ oh wow I’m pretty sure Penn state know about it
He’s going to break Sanders record on Penn State and win the game.
Hi guys. This game will not be competitive and jeantty will not score a touchdown. We are looking at 42-13 score for the game psu. For context I predicted the smu psu score exactly correct. Everything that happens in college football happens for a reason. Upsets and close games are not random. If you know ball you can see the train wreck from here for boise.
Flordia State Pate 🤷
Penn state by two touchdowns
Im bummed this isn't another campus game. Still, I think Penn State wins, but Boise State keeps it close, and the Nitany Lions prevailed 27-20.
Playing on the Blue Turf? That would be nuts, but tickets would be impossible to get!
@@Phixfox That would be a real joke if that ever happened....like SMU playing a Top Blueblood program which calls 100k stadium home at 32,000 seat Ford Field??? The "Committee" would move the venue, to at least a larger "neutral" location. But then again, I saw when USC played LSU in Vegas....it was Home Field Advantage...LSU!
I think Pate might be the worst podcaster of all time.
It'll be a blowout if the refs decide that holding is a penalty this game.
Jeanty will get his yards but PSU will win by 10-14
There’s no excuse as to why Penn state shouldn’t make the national championship
Georgia gonna beat the shit out of them
I can give you 2.... ND and UGA.
@ Georgia has a back up QB. Notre dame, we’ll see if they can beat Georgia
@@user-xj9po6ep9i Neither one! Hate to say it but I'd rather Penn State face Oregon...I know Penn State could win that game. Against anOSU cranking on all cylinders like against Tennessee? NO WAY!! anOSU would crush them just for the fun of it. (they are nothing but fuck'n Poison Chestnuts!)
As for Noter Dame vs. UGA. UGA is VERY mortal. Noter Dame will FORFEIT against Penn State. They already declared in 2007 after they were victims...I mean opponents in the First All-stadium White Out that, "Notre Dame will NEVER play Penn State again!"
Singleton and Allen get more yards than Jenty.
As it stands Jeanty has more yards AFTER contact than both of them combined. Gonna be fun to watch.
I may be wrong, but only 3 teams have beat Penn the last 3 years 2 or on the other side of bracket and Michigan didn't make playoffs
Ole Miss beat them in the Peach Bowl last year actually, are you just talking regular season?
@@brianstaley6391half our team opted out so I don’t really think that counts tho but way to check your facts

Penn is the Ivy League school whose rowing team can probably beat their football team.
Penn state wins 34-17 final
BSU played damn good against Oregon i can’t forget that when i gladly take the points…
If I’m wrong, oh well.
Plus James Franklin is going to screw something up, does it in every game.
Actually he doesn't
SHUT UP stop saying that about Franklin. Like shut up we beat SMU change your narrative name one team except Michigan with a winning record vs osu in the last 10 years
Yes that's why he consistently wins 11 games and has won multiple ny6 bowl games.
@@WeAre044Michigan still doesn’t have a winning record against them if you look at the past 10 years

He’s a real winner
I’m so sick of these elitist know it all snobs
BOISE gonna look like a watermelon that just got stepped on by an elephant when this game ends!
Expansion equals watering down the playoffs. Boise state, Indiana, smu, Arizona state & notre dame should not be there (ND would easily have 5/6 losses if they were in the sec/big ten).
Well, we know they beat Indiana. The rest is conjecture.
Noter Dame could've made a 4 team
@@Zak-bv4qm Northern Illinois says that CAN'T!
Game should be over after the first period.
