Ist of all, it is clear that Annie needed help, that her perceptions & thinking were deeply affected by the past loss of her own twin sons...Though the storyline/dialogue speaks to the fact that both Annie's son & DIL had (early on) detected Annie's 'off'kilter' mind-set, discussing how troublesome, even alarming Annie was becoming,...they failed to seek out psychiatric aid/assistance as to how to proceed, how to handle Annie's self-perpetuating mental obsessions as to the unborn twin'-boys,,,They knew she needed AN EVALUATION, but instead elected to 'feed' Annie's inability to see reason
by their non-sensical choices.

They understand that she needs to be evaluated, but instead, they decide to 'feed' Annie's inability to find reasons for their decisions that don't make sense. Those who suffer do not need to be condemned, they need to be helped.
Why the everlovin’ hecko don’t these women ever tell their husbands what’s going on! Every story is the same. Husband goes off for work, MIL’s bizarre behaviour escalates. Wife doesn’t tell husband. Shit hits the fan. What could have been stamped out in the beginning with a firm hand then devolves into cops, courts, jail, psychiatric hospitals and restraining orders.
