Indians are now on sex, drugs , extortion and how to earn money. Please enlighten me. I want to know many things about religion. Please help. I have a lot of unsolved storm in my head
Dear Simantini Sinha. The fact that I myself am not a classified devotee of Krishna. In this age and the age of Kali Yuga, the age of discord and war. People are more and more immersed in the illusion, Maya. There is no way that a repetition of the holy names of God. Try to find the devotees from ISKCON (International Society for Krishna Consciousness) and they will answer you all your questions. Hare Krishna!!!
Thanks Evan. I had lot of contradictions like who is superior krishna or Narayan means Vishnu ( part of holy trinity). Brahma is born from the navel of Vishnu. Why Brahma is famous outside India, life Erawan Shrine but not so much in India. Shiva's devotee are more aggressive. Narayan once had 3 wives, Brahma Vaivarta Purana, Matsya purana. They are Ganga, Saraswati and Laxmi. Thay love him very much but due to dispute Narayan gave Saraswati to Brahma and Ganga to Shiva. In Mahabharata Ganga was married to Shantanu. Can u explain dear.
@Simantini Sinha well as one kayastha to another. you questions are valid, the problem is we ask the wrong questions. I try to study hinduism from a historic and philosophical perspective. And hence have a better (not full) understanding of the religion. only because i asked myself the same questions. now if you ask a shaivite, vaishnav, shakta or whatever parampara, you will get a different answer. The idea of superiority is a moot question because these are just manifestations of the supreme consciousness. Your father is a man, a brother, a husband, a manager (for the sake of explanation) so is your father 5 different people or 1 man? so asking is vishnu superior or shiva isn't the point of Hinduism. if you ask a hare krishna vishnu is the greatest ask shaivite then shiva. ask a vedantist then its brahman (the supreme soul). another reason people get confused is because we dont study our religion and with western education we imbibe the definitions of the west. so when you think of a god you assume its like a abhramic god jesus allah etc. who sits above and judges us. where as in hinduism god means a supreme consciousness that permeates the whole universe. so you are seeking a abhramic answer to a dharmic question, and thats the mistake. hinduism has gone through 4 evolutions. it beginning was the vedic 2000 bc to 500 BCE, the puranic 0 CE to 1000 CE during this time hinduism took things from buddhism and janism. then the muslims invaded to hinduism imbibed cultures of islam like the purdha or ghoongat and much more, then the british came in and brought victorian values. and hence because of the last 2 inclusions we have begun to ask abhramic questions as to who is superior allah, jesus - shiva vishnu. I can answer your questions, please feel free to ask. i will gladly reply : ) EDIT* if you are a reader i suggest reading the upanishads these contain the essence. Bhagwat gita only became famous during the british time. before that it was always the Upanishads - which i consider is the nectar that nourishes your soul.
