    Thank you Pastor Jean Ross for explaining Legalism more completely. It is very important to let it be known that we don't think that we are saved by our own works nor are we saved by our obedience, but we are saved by God's Grace.

    Intermarrying as far as religious beliefs in far different than intermarrying as far as race is concerned. I pray that Pastor Ross will help Pastor Bachelor bring that point out better. Many people don't have an understanding of this. Thank you Pastor Ross.

    On the question about divorcing their wives, besides what was answered, it made me think about the passage where it says that all these things were written for our learning (Romans 15:4). God saw well to ask certain things of certain people in order to leave a record for the learning of future generations. Abraham to sacrifice Isaac for example, or Hosea to marry a prostitute. There are things we can’t quite understand about God’s will at certain times, but in due time His purpose is revealed for the benefit of those who need it.

    A recent genetic discovery shows that part of every genetic code comes from one set of original parents. I love when science proves scripture right. Trying to destroy God, they only prove him.

    How about our freewill in choosing a partner according to our own specific 'likes' or 'tastes'? I understand that God chose Eve for Adam and Rebekah for Isaac and maybe Ruth for Boaz, but seems that everyone else had the responsibility of selecting their own wife/husband.

    Mary did have other children after Jesus. Psalm 69:8 "I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my MOTHER'S children. This is a Messianic prophecy. Matthew 1:25, "Joseph knew her not till she had brought forth her FIRSTBORN son."

    • @davidstarr6604
      @davidstarr6604 7 месяцев назад +1

      King David was talking about himself in Ps 69. Look at verse 5. That could not be Jesus.
      Matt 1:25: Jesus being Mary's firstborn son does not imply there were any more. Does not imply there were not either. But the bible makes no mention of Joseph and Mary having any other children together after Jesus.

      Jesus promises to come again and take us to His Father's house (John 14:2-3) but our eternal life will be on a this earth when it is remade (Isa 65:17, 66:22; II Peter 3:13; Rev 21:1) after this old earth is destroyed at the end of Rev 20s 1,000 years (Rev 20:7-9; Mal 4:1-3).

      Jesus said at Matthew 5:5: “Happy are the mild-tempered, since they will inherit the earth.” And he was referring to what is said at Psalm 37:29: “ The righteous will possess the earth, and they will live FOREVER on it.” Humans will get to live forever on earth in perfect health like God originally promised. Revelation 7:9,10,14 tells us that millions will survive and come out of the Great Tribulation and have the hope of living forever in Paradise earth.
      So, God promises that the earth will never be destroyed; just the wicked will be destroyed. Ecclesiastes 1:4 clearly tells us: “A generation is going and a generation is coming, but the earth remains forever.”
      During the Thousand year reign, humans will grow to perfection and our loved ones will be resurrected as Jesus promised at John 5:28,29. Death will be swallowed up forever. (1 Corinthians 15:54-57) We will enjoy life as God promised. (Revelation 21:3,4)

      @davidstarr6604 7 месяцев назад

      @@sunnyjohnson992 Rev 7 does not contain the word "millions".
      What part of "new heavens and new earth" do you not understand?" You didn't even look at the texts I gave did you? Please read II Peter 3:10-13. It is the NEW earth that remains forever. Ps 75:3; Isa 24:19-20 This old earth will be destroyed. No more seas even....

      3 John 1:2 says he wishes us to be in good health and 1 Corinthians 10:31 tells us that everything we do, even what we eat and drink, should be done to the glory of God. Our bodies are the temple of the Holy Ghost, bought at a price, and God will destroy anyone who defiles that temple, (1 Corinthians 3:16-17 & 1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
      Taking blows to the head that can (and have) cause serious brain injury, damage, and even disability and premature death. I don't see how God is glorified in that. Additionally, we are told not to enjoy violence or even the appearance of (Psalm 11:5; 1 Thessalonians 5:22; Proverbs 3:31).
      I know a brother in church who boxed amateurly before becoming a Christian and he struggles greatly with daily self care, and reading and understanding the Bible among other things due to the hits he took while boxing. And when we consider ties of boxing with gambling, crime, and see what spirit it inspires in many participants and fans, it's certainly not God's spirit.

      The Bible clearly tells us at Romans 12:18 to “be peaceable with all men.” 2 Timothy 2:24 says: “For a slave of the Lord does not need to fight, but needs to be gentle toward all.”
      The Bible tells us that Christians should produce the fruitage of God’s spirit such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control.” (Galatians 5:22,23) Professional boxing flies in the face of all such fruitage.
      1 John 3:15: “Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has everlasting life remaining in him.” A boxer could critically injure or kill his opponent-Would God be pleased with that?
