We are thrilled to be back out there and making videos again. Great to see you guys are back, quick tip for Mandy, the issue with the machine is the batteries losing contact with the terminals, wrap some tape around the batteries for the SDC 2300 for a snug fit in the detector and this will stop the issue of it resetting when you're a bit rough with it. That fixed mine anyway.

Hi friends! With the SDC turning itself off when dropped, all you need to do is put 1 round of cloth tape around each battery and this will hold them in place. It turns off as this was an issue with the batteries coming off contact with the springs, especially when worn. if you dont fix the issue early the springs can get worse and it will happen more frequently.
If its the newer battery, try stretching the springs a little on the battery plate :D

At last, finally, Singletons golden eye ointment explained. Many decades ago I was walking up the Abberfieldy river, isolated from civilization and behold, in the water at my feet one Singletons golden eye ointment 'lid'. I thought it was a lid to a jar. Anyway, I looked about the area and thought, 'Yeah, even finding rubbish in the wilderness where no man ever goes'. Thanks for filling the blank spot of my knowledge.

Mandy change to lithium battery sdc2300 are made to eceipt 4 c size batteries and they come with 4 nhmi batteries which are smaller you need a piece of cardboard on the top 2 batteries to stop them moving that’s why it turns of it’s the batteries are lose however the lithium upgrade stops this happening

Great work fellas another interesting episode good to see Ant kick the young blokes A…. Mandy to keep your 2300 from restarting cut a bit of box strapping and slide it down beside the batteries long enough to pull out when you need to take them out but not too long to to close the cover this will keep the batteries tight , if you use tape around the batteries they might be hard to get out. Happy hunting.

The 2300s cut out if you don’t get the battery cover on tight and square. If you don’t have the modern battery pack, I wrap a ring of duct tape around my C cells.

It’s possible that the tree might have been a sort of grave marker.
I had considered that option initially, though the surrounding ground wouldn't have been a very suitable spot I wouldn't have thought. It may well remain a mystery!
