- There's something magical about exercising on the water. The sounds. The sights. The sensory experience.
Rowing draws you in like no other sport. And it's an excellent full-body, low-impact workout that improves muscle and aerobic strength.
Do you live in the greater Sacramento area? We've got a place where you can come on board!
The River City Rowing Club is a community-based rowing club, with rowing classes and programs for men and women of all ages and abilities--from high schoolers to seniors. We're located at the Port of West Sacramento, California, and on the web at:
rivercityrowing.org
I actually am on the team now even though the season is over. I'm doing it next year too, unless I change my mind. If anything, I'm probably going to be a coxswain. I'm a little guy and I don't weigh much, so it's just right for me.
It reminds me he time I used to rowing . Thank you for making such beautiful video , I watch it every time I miss rowing ...
Great to look at, but much better to do
great video. combines two of my favorite things--rowing and sigur ros.
this really makes me wanna just get out there and hit the water!
Fantastic clip, really great waters. Makes me remember my youth when I was on the water almost every day :). I envy you.
Thx for posting!
I've raced this course a few times. typically it's used as a 6k course
This is a very well put together video!! Think I'm gonna go join my crew team now...
i wish i could, if my school started at around 10 it would be perfect!
Oh yeah, River City Rowing Club, that's like right next to Davis.
I had the opportunity to row on that area in the Spring of 2011. It was possibly the worst rowing weather I have ever been in, but then again, that was a fairly wet spring in general.
Nice body of water nonetheless.
Our channel is pretty straight and offers good protection from the elements. If the wind comes in from the right angle it can get pretty choppy, and our summers get pretty hot, but we love it.
RCRC pride :)
My school starts at 840. I train at 530
Luckily I did, but it was at the end of the season. I'm still going to do it though hahaha
@godofrowing Thank you :)
I'm thinking about joining crew....sounds tough though.
if you're a rower join the fb group " You know you're a ROWER when..." and share a story that makes you a rower
Excellent. Really great work. Great song. What did you use to shoot? Any filters?
No filters just early morning light
Great footage... Did you get these shots?
Yes, with my Canon T2i and a go pro
It's more than that.
What make of boat is that 8? I have never seen one here in England but I saw an American college lightweight race and these boats seemed pretty popular with the sunken riggers. Thanks
@godofrowing Sorry, also how do they compare to boats like empachers, Hudsons and Filippis? Thanks
Would be on the river a 5.30 3 mornings before school and in the evening too 4 times plus 3 outings a weekends we were 15/16 year olds
Weird,,,this kid is on my crew team too this year. JV M8. Lil Megargee
Anyone can row, mate. We don't discriminate.
@Goofynewblue depends, getting up at 5 am is a bitch
whats the distance of water you have to work with?
We have about 70 miles crows fly until we hit saltwater (Roughly, based on guesswork, its more than you can do in a practice) We normally at max 20km.
@godofrowing Thank you :)
