Suspect Cmdr Cockings hands into this. The actors chosen are decent. Would give them all a solid 9/10. Storyline a solid 9.5:10. I just LOVE the FC-Uniform era, it's my favourite. Thank you for making another fan film in this time period. It was a nice little story with decent acting. Captain Hunter was... himself, as always. Quite a consistent character. :) The costumes were very accurate (though Michelle Specht didn't seem to wear a uniform). I liked the music which had some nice nods to the known Star Trek themes. I also liked the consistence of camera angles and moves with the digital sets. Projecting Keeley into a shuttle exterior shot was something unseen in this quality before. And of course, all the ships (including the California class - a very nice easter egg - and the Norway class which I believe to be a slight nod to CzechTrek), the digital sets (I LOVED the Intrepid bridge and the shuttle interior) and all CGI were PERFECT. OUTSTANDING QUALITY! *sigh* It makes me want to write a script for my own fan film immediately... Thank you for your labour of love and being an inspiration. Well done! I'm looking forward to seeing more from you. Best regards from the USS Atlas, a fan group in Germany (I'm the Captain).

The effects, story and pacing were great but the acting was not amazing. It's hard to get good actors in a fan production. The other critique I have is the dialogue audio which was not clear and had the "studio" sound but again that is hard to get on a budget. The music and sound effects were great. They got the feel of Trek more than well known fan productions. The uniforms looked flawless. I a bit puzzled eith the fight choreography in the holodeck. Was it itentional that the roman was attacking her by walking to her slowly and basically just brushing by. Was that the glitch? If not then the fight lacked momentum, it was mot dynamic.
Wow, so happy to see this -- I had no idea it was coming today! It was great to see Michelle Specht from STC again in a new role. Ah, the "speedboat" shuttle, one of my favorites that doesn't get enough love. Perfect choice. Overall very well done. I guess I can't blame the IP owners for being envious of what you can do without their monstrous budgets. ;>)
Great fan film! It was good to see the USS Intrepid. I'm a fan of the USS Voyager so I liked seeing the first ship of its class. As far as I know the ship has only been referred to but has never appeared in any Star Trek episodes. The USS Horizon and the shuttle craft looked good too.
Thank you so much!!! And indeed...used a little...in as clever way as possible, with lots of space CGI too ofc ;). Oooo one of your favorites?!?! A fantastic compliment! thank you! What did you enjoy in particular about it/what were your favorite bits? :D
@@SGUDistantHope I'm a Huge fan of the space shots. I know it's the money and time consuming part of Any project, but it's the part that sells the rest. How you were able to look into the Shuttles window and see the character there, moving as she should be. It's great, and not seen often. And I've been a longtime fan of the Intrepid, so seeing both projects characters in there was great. Acting was spot on and of course the Holodeck malfunctioned. it always does. :) I know you are amazing with your CGI work and I bow to you, but I think it's getting better. New, wonderful, great job! I just finished the _Star Trek Continues_ series last night, sad Dr Hunter was killed, and here's Captain Sheppard. You had me before that but can't lie, liked her introduction. So many questions, can't wait to watch and find out.
Really impressive and quite enjoyable! My only feedback is the absence of control noises is really noticeable. It would really help to add that in when we know they're touching panels, even if it's not on-screen. Of course it only stands out because the effects and virtual sets are so great! The original music was also very impressive. I got a chuckle imagining what Samuel put out for craft service!
Thank you Ryan!! Yes i hope the story was a more memorable story than many fan films etc. Yes we love our original score! I did of course add button taps for several hero occasions, but in the real Treks they rarely do actual SFX for every single press...often there is nothing unless we are focusing on them. It would have been an insane task..and quite distracting to do a SFX for every single tap that Keeley does, so i added a few things here and there. Could always do with more SFX but thats what im weakest at...need someone to come in and help! Ha! Nim is actually gluten free so it was harder than i thought haha! And yes...Nimran is fantastic!! She will be in several more if fans support our new Indiegogo!! 5 shorts planned! www.indiegogo.com/projects/trek-shorts-2021-by-fans-for-fans/x/4750234#/
I think you all did a great job. Good work. Liked the Roman soldier foreshadowing.
Better acting than most fan films (not to drag them down; it's a labor of love, after all), pretty witty dialog, and special effects worthy of TV. I can't find much in this not to like!
very nice Film. Nice Ships Modells and one was a California Class.
@@DancingRasputin yes
Excellent acting :) :D love how professional and well produced this is. Nice to see fellow Scots acting in this. Nick Cook is from Dundee, 50 miles from where i am from, Aberdeen!
Music by composer from Aberdeen
I’m all about lieutenant Anna keeley. We need more episodes about her and her shenanigans
Shes great! There are many episodes with her as other ages, but we have filmed more with her as a LT yes!
Nicely done. Interesting story, great FX, decent acting, a Scottish Trill, and beautiful ladies (the pilot and Ms. Specht). Great Trek here.
This is so well done !! Ive made more than a few student films and i know the work that goes into them. This has been a labour love and the result is a fantadtic finished product. Pls who knew Samuel could act 😊
LOL he is a good faker jk.
Thank you!!! Indeed...so...many hours! And yes, you have to have all the love!
haha...you think i can act? ^.^ Very much appreciated...i think i was easily the weakest actor in the piece...but everyone else did SO well so maybe its just the contrast!. It was very fun to get to play in character though and be on the Horizon, the ship i designed with Rick Sternbach.
Was there any parts of elements you enjoyed in particular or that stood out?
Was that Samuel Cocking's pa, as the Roman? He did pretty well, too!
@@SGUDistantHope The VFX were particularly excellent. From the Arc to the ship animations. The costuming was also very well done. Its funny how often that small element can take you out of a fan film. The sets/enviroments were very well done to. I assume most were green screen with a few practicle elements but these were compiled seemlessly.
@@TheG21145 Thank you so much! yes i specialise in the VFX and getting the "feel" of Trek space shots and spaceships. Indeed we focused on high end costumes...as it does make a BIG difference.
yes it was all 100% green screen except Nicks captains chair! If you want to see more shorts from us then please support our indiegogo going on right now! www.indiegogo.com/projects/trek-shorts-2021-by-fans-for-fans/x/4750234#/
@lan Le yes it is! haha
Nice theme music... Good special effects and fine acting as well!
Such a fantastic Trek fan fiction film!! Nicely Done!!
I love it! It’s so great when a die-hard group of devoted fans pull together their combined talents to make a piece of art! The VFX shots of the various ships and Chiron Base are spot on! Congrats you folks! You have another devoted fan in the audience!
Great job! Definitely felt like coming back home to the Voy/DS-9 era of Trek. Keep up the good work!
Really great job. Getting better with each new adventure!!
Another truely great fan film...thank you...
Ah, the "speedboat" shuttle, one of my favorites that doesn't get enough love. Perfect choice.
Overall very well done. I guess I can't blame the IP owners for being envious of what you can do without their monstrous budgets. ;>)
imagine what these guys and girls could do with their monstrous budgets.
this might explain why the Voyager never ran out of them! KEEPS AN INFINITE SUPPLY OUT OF PHASE!!!
Fantastic job! Loved the story and effects - and kudos to Nimran Saund, really loved her acting.
I love the captain referring to himself as the idiot in charge.
Outstanding work! great use of Lockdown resources! one of my favorites!!
I know you are amazing with your CGI work and I bow to you, but I think it's getting better.
And spot on acting by everyone. Even the smart mouthed Lieutenant ;)
What a delightful film! Congratulations on your fine production and professional results!
Ms. Saund is a very good actress!
Brilliant video. Thanks for a very entertaining story.
"We are far from home."
"Aren't we all."
We look for things
Great video...the special effects and characters are worthy of a TV series!! Loved everything about it!!!😁😁👍👍👍👍
Thank you very very much Anthony!! that's certainly my specialty!! Is there any moment in the film or any visual you particularly enjoyed?
Also if you want to see more short films from us, were currently running a croud funder...need to raise some funds but we want to make more!! www.indiegogo.com/projects/trek-shorts-2021-by-fans-for-fans/x/4750234#/
@@SGUDistantHope The special effects of the ships...they sure didn't look like CGI models but ultrarealistic.👍👍
If you want to see Ryan, and i know you do!! www.indiegogo.com/projects/trek-shorts-2021-by-fans-for-fans/x/4750234#/ Support our indiegogo which is going on right now!! we have 5 more shorts planned but need to raise funds!
@@SGUDistantHope I noticed the lack of tap sounds too, and I know they're not there for every single tap, but I apparently missed the few that were added because I didn't hear any at all. Still great little film.
Good Job Samuel, Your dad was great.
Thank you Daniel! Did you like any scenes or visuals in particular?? If you want to see more short films from us this year then please support us on Indiegogo! www.indiegogo.com/projects/trek-shorts-2021-by-fans-for-fans/x/4750234#/
Glad to hear you're still creating! Good work! Been busy writing myself, ill have to stop by the channel soon. Cheers.
You all had me going, again! lol Surprise! It wasn't what I thought. Beautiful editing, visuals and an interesting story.
That was bloody awesome! Fantastic job!
Great film! And i love that there is a California class at the end.
Thank you so very much! Yes!! I just had to put it there haha..i love my little attention to details! Were there any other parts you specifically enjoyed?? moments that stood out to you?
She's a really good actor.
We think so! :D
An great piece of art work for the history books.
That's a very lovely comment! Thank you so much! Is there anything in particular you enjoyed about this film?

It's delightful, thanks for this.
Gene truly had no idea what he created when he decided to start Star Trek. If we keep up like this sci-fi will become reality.
I didn't know what to think at first but I let it run and wasn't disappointed. Great job guys, looking forward to the next installment and you have a new subscriber!👍
Wow!!! Well done! .....may we have some more, please? :)
Wow.. Awesome job. Very well done. Thank you
Glad I found this channel! This is the best fan fiction I've seen from the Trek universe in many years, and top-notch video quality, too - wow!
Here's a like and comment for the Almighty Algorithm. ❤️❤️
I liked this! A little different, but in a very good way. Keep it up. Looking forward to seeing more like this.
Great teaser for more episodes.
Well we get to see more of Michelle Specht.
Either way thanks to all involved.
Reduced fighting ability from arthritis not rendered....
Once youtube "resumed program" I've arrived at an 8 outta ten for this short. Quite Nicely Done!
well done on the holodeck exit there. Keep up the good work overall!

@@SGUDistantHope lead female character was very cute. I like the fact you with different class of Starships minor background issues with sound. I'm a huge Star Trek fan myself. I'm currently on a deployment but I should be back in the United States in a couple of months. I'm hoping to find anybody willing to do fan films as well. I have my own uniform and diploma from Starfleet Academy. I enjoy all the fan work that I find on RUclips. I hope with some free time I might be able to make some more nerdy friends who are into the same stuff that I am
That was super kewl. 👏🏼 👏🏼 👏🏼
Thanks so much!!! Anything you specifically liked or thought was well done? :D Anything stand out?
@@SGUDistantHope The Roman soldier/holodeck twist at the beginning was a brilliant start to a well crafted and fun storytelling with good acting. And of course the graphics were second to none with very believable use of tactical maneuvering and use of weapons. Well done. 👏🏼 🖖🏼
@@SGUDistantHope oh and the California class at the end. 😂 good one.
@@SGTMontgomeryMACO hahaa yep!!! Cali Class :P First fan film to use one...and its just chilling at the end ;) you know me...and my attention to details!! :D
This short here captured the true spirit of Star Trek more than anything "official" I've seen lately, I am more than happy to come across this. Truly one of the best Trek fan productions I've ever seen, it's... Fascinating!
