I looove that you went from referring to your twin as 'biological brother' to just 'brother' in the span of this documentary
The twins missed the opportunity to grow up with each other...But i understand it's must be painful for the parents to give up on their child. So i want to recap what i saw to understand why Dan was given for adoption. His mother was very sick after she give birth to 2 sick premature baby and the father decide to put Dan for odoption because they are poor and Dan need medical attention.. His mother try to get him back after she recovered but he was already being adopted. I suppose she must been heartbroken and think of him everyday, i cannot imagine the pain not knowing what happen to your child. That is why she is very emotional when she finally met her lost child.
they shouldve made one full video on kiseong coming over to visit dan in cali
HOBOZBOBZ yep
I have no idea who akaDan is, but I love the entire documentary. It was beautiful show. Im so glad that you shared it to the world. I will definitely be subscribing to your channel.
Navigator2905: Me too, I love that he took his time to go see his foster mom that was so precious 🥺. I love the documentary too!
I loved seeing Dan with his brother, I wish there was more! Also kudos to Clara C!! (:
Thanks Sammi! Make sure to check out more tracks by Dan and to support!
I wish you extended the Docu with more footage from your Brothers visit to the US.
LOL. I can dig that whale outfit.
RIGHT!
The brother's rap voice is great. Sound extraordinary in Korean.
Denroy Lawrence yes!
Your story is so compelling, I hope you make lots of videos of your journey for us to see. This is just the tip of the iceberg.....
really appreciate you watching! keep it going!
I randomly came on this story on youtube like you do sometimes and was so touched by it. What an amazing journey and so well put together. Thanks for sharing your life. The song is anybody out there is soooo amazing. God had his hand in all this. Thanks again for sharing!
i was thinking, does your adopted sister ever thought of finding her family too?!!
Yeah got the same question and I'm also curious about Dan's biological sister too.
7 years later - youtube recommends this to me (unsure why) I watch it all (could you please link the videos so they go in order, Had to manually find them)
I NEED to know, do you still keep in touch. Your mom is the sweetest woman, she had a mothers love for you that went unbroken for 28 years apart, it was precious to watch.
Dan updated his instagram posts lately (2024) and it looks like he still keeps in touch with the whole family. He attended his bio sister’s wedding and then his twin’s wedding.
Okay, I know it's two guys but matching tshirts.....how cuuuuute! Lol I hope your brother enjoyed his trip to Cali! And in n out is a step better than McDonald's for sure but not all that jazz people make it up to be.
I like how he got along with his twin brother :)
...i was heatbroken when i saw you leaving the airport in Korea...i could literary hear myself crying...i dont feel sympathy but rather felt so proud of your rationalization of things that surrounded your life..even if this was still in 2014 your life story will certainlly (well i hope) be an inspiration to other adoptees like you...i am an asian and many things similar to this happens in the Philippines, the country from where i am...hope you make good music to include your twin brother...tc
i love seeing Dan with his brother!
your brother is a cool kat....
Wow speaking of a ridiculously jealous guy... I'm sorry Dan for the mark!
Yeah and your brother rapping... It runs in your blood ;) both of you guys are talented.
Whenever i watch this series I always end up crying. With being adopted i can relate somwhat, i haven't been able to contact anyone, but i mean i still have time, and maybe i do have siblings and hopefully my parents are together or still alive. Thank you for sharing your experience, i hope i will be able to experience my own.
Also Ki Seong is my fashion inspiration haha (: I love his outfits woo!
I heard he's single, so you have that going for you, which is terrific!
Thank you for sharing this amazing personal life story of yours. I hope you will keep in touch with your family and guardian who took care of you while you were a baby in korea. All the best to you DANakaDan! Love the editing of the production and theme song too. I love the song.
Dan, your story is wonderful and I am glad you chose to share it. These are the stories that make us feel good, which is a nice change from the trash we experience. Your twin brother is so sweet and gentle. I hope we can get an update.
the korean part of rapping is very good!!!
This is the stuff that should be on TV... something that is inspirational and touching... meanwhile, we have to put up with crap like Honey Boo Boo and Jersey Shore.
OMG! I am soooo happy to have encountered this video. I checked the whole documentary and I cannot explain the feeling. It was a very hard transition and I happy your shared your story. And the song is super nice, X10000000000 (thumbs up!!) I would love to listen to the song of you and your bro together. :) Good luck and Khamsamida! :)
hi dan - my name is megan and i'm also a korean adoptee! born in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do Province and brought up in NJ, i resonate with a lot of your feelings. I'm so happy for you that you were able to experience something so magical like finding a long lost twin and a family that has been yearning for you. this documentary series has been a huge comfort to me since i am in the middle of my own birth family search. just wanted to send my love and support for all us adoptee's out there dealing with their search! love, happiness, and success to you, your birth family, and adopted family. such an inspiration to us all
Is it funny that his brother reminds me of the Tasty twins?!? He looks so cute and handsome!!
The song is so good and the rap part is easy listening where i usually dont like rap part of most song.. 👌🏼👌🏼
I haven't cried like this for a long time wow your story is so overwhelming two mothers two families across the world try to be friend with your siblings cause God gave you a present take it cherish it
It is honestly so cool the fact both twins love music and rap. Dan is a rapper and musician, so do the twin. I hope to see how Dan relationship with the sister as well though. The sister seems pretty nice to him from the previous video.
Your story/journey is an inspiration! But that said your music on this video was an ausome thing for me to hear. It spoke to me. I'm not adopted, but the questions you bring up in your lyrics (faith, who we are, our personal journeys) cover so many areas (to include your story). At 56 years old I still question my faith in God at times and my purpose of what God's plan for me is as I get older. Your music really made me think about how blessed I am even when things don't go as I wanted them to go. I know this doesn't have much to do with your story. I thourghly enjoyed your video's and music. Dan, you have a gift to communicate that can now be used to transcend two different cultures and probably more perhaps. You may have found your calling! May God Bless your work. Thank you.😊
Yay! I thought the series was over! So happy I saw this vid lol
thankyou so much for sharing your beautiful story with the world! i appreciate it so much!! loads of love and blessings from australia
Omg this was sooo moving! I watched them all.. the song was perfect!! blessings to you and you family
YES!! another video!! Thanks for sharing your wonderful series to us! Also, I've been living in South Cali for 9 years and In n Out is nothing special. IDk why most Californians are so crazy about the burger joint.
LOL! IN N OUT is amazing for Californians
The best series I've honestly ever watched and its what I need
Every single time I cry! I'm so thankful that you were able to connect with a part of yourself and have a new chapter in life. With many more to love.
How your Brother only bit the bottom of the burger tho?!?! Somebody should have advised him to get the full flavor in that first bite!!! Lol
I Love this though. Much Love to You and to your Family. You and your Twin Brother both harnessing an innate Love for Hip Hop despite growing miles and countries apart is something very remarkable.
Wow! That might have shock you a lot but in return you got your questions finally answered. Thanks for sharing your story, first time hearing a song from you (because I don't listing too much hip hop and rap) BUT YOUR SONG IS AWESOME!!! Lots of feelings involved and music is sometimes better to heal wounds than time. Good for you and good luck in everything you do in the future, it's my sincere wish :D.
I love the theme song for this documentary. Years have passed but you’re still touching other people’s lives. Kudos!
What a wonderful reunion! I could imagine the pain but I could also imagine the excitement of knowing you have a twin and now, two families who truly cares for you! I should check on the rest of your posts soon, I hope to see you and your brother jammin' together! All the best!
Dan--So this documentary really connects with me. I was adopted but through foster care. I got abandoned when I was 8 but when I was 18 contact hessitantly resumed. When I was 20 I made the nerve-racking decision to travel 1000 miles to meet my biological mother, her new husband, a grandma, my uncles and cousins, and a brother who I hardly remembered and hadn't seen since I was 6. I didn't tell my family--fearing their overprotectiveness and reaction. However, next year I just might make another trip out but I want to be more open about what I'm doing. Anyways, I have two questions for you: How has your parents been throughout this entire process (before, present, and aftermath)? And how has your personal emotional adjustment been since going through this adjustment?
The best series I've ever seen.(:
Thank you so much for making these videos! As an adoptee you often feel like an island. Your adoptive family has certain feelings & when you meet your biological family, they have their feelings, but no one seems to understand yours. This gives great insight into the thoughts, feelings & reservations an adoptee can face when meeting their biological family for the first time. It shows it's a decision that not only affects the adoptee, but the adoptive family as well. I'm glad to see your story has had a happy begging!
5 years after, I hope your family bond is still going strong as ever and I sure hope you can show 5 yeard after video on both family together communicating in both Korean and English. It'll be so wonderful thing to see!
I just watched your full documentary. Tbh i didn’t know who you are at first, i just know wongfu and people around em. Buy your story is really unique and beautiful. You should be happy because now you have 2 loving families. It’s amazing to see how your adopted family cares so much about you and really supportive, while i can’t imagine how painful this was for your biological family and i’m glad to see how loving and kind they are. I’m literally amazed by the twins bond, like you lived very far from each other, you don’t even know that your twin bro existed but you somehow share the same passions in rap & hip hop. I’m glad it becomes something that makes you guys closer.
Please update your life after these 5-6 years. I heard your brother is in Perth? I wonder is his english is better? Can you guys communicate better too? Hope your life is better than ever.
I cry every time I watch this documentary! I hope you have this on Netflix one day! It's something that everyone needs to see.
How painful it would have been to have that thumb mark on your neck... gosh what kind of guy knocks someone down grabbing someone's neck???
+Hyun Park Probably the boyfriend of the girl he was dancing with.
My favorite ISA series, I really felt for Dan. He was really searching for his family but also a missing part of himself. Thanks for sharing ISATV y'all rock.
Love the theme song it's AWESOME!!!!
I wonder if the have anything for finding birthparents in china like they have in Korea cause if they did I would want to find my birthparents too ^_^
LOL the sound he made after tasting the burger LOOL everytime I see In n Out burger photos online, I'm nearly drooling; I will for sure go back to Cali!
I came by this series while watching wongfu productions. Congratulations to Dan. I actually really like the song Dan. It's really good and it's a sham i never got to hear this hidden treasure before. The lyrics are actually very meaning and touching. I hope you can market this song out more so that more people can have the opportunity to listen to this and song and through the song your story.
I have this heart-warming feeling. I had to stop watching then ending because the song and everything is making tear up. I'm really happy for dan
This doco made me cry so much oml. Your mother obviously loves you a lot.
Thanks for sharing? (:
Your whale outfit is fab.
When I heard the song I fell in love with the song
SPECIAL THANKS TO... Crayon Pop?!
Whaaaaaaaatt..?
So I just wanted to say that this story is beautiful. You were so lucky to have 4 amazing parents that loved you so much to give you the life you have. Your biological parents are amazing to love you so much that they would give you up for adoption knowing that it will break their hearts and they may never truly know what happened to you, but that you would have the medical care you needed and be placed in a home with a family that would be able to provide for you in ways they could not at the time. And your adoptive parents who obviously loved you so much to welcome you into their lives as the child they could not conceive and desperately wanted, and raise you making sure you knew that you became theirs because of the heroic sacrifice your birth parents were willing to make. And if you ever have a chance for both of your mothers to meet, I would love to see that. They both seem like amazing women and rather than jealousy, I think they both feel immense gratitude toward the other for the part she played in her son's life. I'm also curious if your sister has been inspired by this to search for her birth family.
Ahhhh! The scene where Dan and his mother have to part gets me every time! It's so heartbreaking but so heartwarming all at the same time. Amazing documentary ISATV, hope to see more of Dan soon :)
i've been following the previous eps and that title above hits me: even biological family who live together doesn't always know about their children thoroughly. sometimes both parents are too busy with their own job or maybe they have trauma that makes them demand more love than giving it to the children. i'm just saying that whatever predicament we are having, we are not the only one in this world. in dan's case, i start to think that maybe my life will be easier if i just get adopted by a new family who really love and respect me for who i am
Probably the best series I have ever watch on RUclips. I am deeply provoked as an adoptee after watching this. Many questions have resurfaced, but I believe that they only come back for a good reason. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.
Beautiful song. Great documentary too. Watched all the episodes.
I know there were a lot of comments at the end of the last episode from people not really liking the series. Whether you liked it or not, I do hope that Dan achieved what he wanted. I personally liked from a personal documentary perspective (I just thought the overall film quality, editing, left a lot to be desired). But like I said, I simply enjoyed it for what it was.
best series ever. the song is amazing.
Big shout out from Geoje Island here!
Beautiful story Dan..glad that you got to find the final piece of the puzzle.
Never followed Dan but his story just draws you in. Watched & re-watched each episode. Great.

That song with your brother sounds AMAZING. Can't wait til it comes out.
So, so moving. Can't wait to see more videos of you and your family in the future. Brilliant music and wonderful adventure.
This song is really great! I happen to watch this documentary a long time ago but i didnt finish it for som reason. And today it popped out in my suggested videos so im watching till the end now. This story is so touching im so glad that it worked out well in the end. Im wondering how's your relationship with your biological family since it has been 2 years since this documentary was released.
I heard your story from a Korean student I have. Good for you, you've found a part of your life's puzzle. I hope you feel more complete. :)
Great song, so moved by your honesty, thank you for sharing.
Dan is the cutest thing. I love his song. I hope he continues to do well. Great story!!

I want ongoing vloooogs but of course it's probably too much work and stress and you have to concentrate on your music but still it was a pleasure while it lasted :)) oh and I'm subscribed to both channels :DDD
Thank you for sharing this personal journey with the world. I personally loved it being a fellow adoptee.
THE most important thing... is that he tried in n out lmao

Really enjoyed the series. Thank you for sharing your incredible story. Best of luck to you and both of your families.
Thank you. That was intriguing to watch. I always wondered about adoptees.
God bless both your adoptive and biological family
More akaDAN!! It should be a series on ISA TV... Just sayin! Ha :)
maybe more coming!!
was it strange to have so many elders thanking you? they literally can die happy now. you did good :) and your mom even got closure I'm sure
this is kind of reality show i will watch. more please.
i'm sure that this amazing story will be one of the big hits of Kdrama :)
This whole experience is truly amazing. And I can only imagine what it's like to be separated from your family and then be reunited with them almost 30 years later. And especially with a twin. And I'm sure my imagination doesn't even come close to what you felt and continue to feel.
I'd love to know more about how you felt as a twin, meeting your brother. And if you feel like perhaps you knew all along that some part of you was missing.
