Best explanation of the mechanics of fly casting I ever seen. Chris doesn’t just say as many do, what your doing wrong, he explains the physics involved and the somo demos make clear and logical. His teaching technique along with his demeanor makes you feel that he want you to learn to enjoy the process. I ‘ve saltwater fly fished for many years , read all greats like Lefty, but the first video I saw of Chris’s blew me away. Thanks Chris , hope to fish with you in the future. Please readers of comments don’t let my wording regarding physics throw you.

45 minutes ago I was looking at your video on how to connect a looped Flyline to backing (loop w/ Bimini knot), and just noticed you had posted 3 new videos. So glad to see you again! In October I was at Flyfishing convention and had some Orvis casting instructors say I had excellent form and cast..I told them and everyone there, it started with Captain Chris Myers RUclips videos. Your 5 rules of fly casting changed my world..and Lots of practice, in strong wind, at night, different angles..etc. I tell anyone trying to learn to go to your channel and watch all your videos. I also use the Canoe Man Loop because of you, my favorite by far. I rarely don’t catch some fish, so doing something right. I even called and talked to you to thank you a year or so ago from central Texas. Well...Thank you again Captain Myers, I really appreciate your help. Sorry for long reply. Hope you have a great holiday season! Best wishes! Sincerely, Charlie B.

You have the best casting tutorial videos by far. Quick question, how much of the line do you have out? Do you have the entire head out? Thank you.

Thanks. I have about 30ft of fly line plus the leader outside the tip. As you get better at it, you can pick up even more line.

My God you cast so smoothly. Awesome. I’m gonna do a lot of practicing and hopefully get a nice smooth cast. Cheers

It is a neighborhood park with a little pond that leads into a spring fed river about 100yds into the woods.
