I have successfully rebuilt several stock. Sungear falled stock rebuilds and your knowledge and skill on the 200r4 is very very good. Thanks former Dodge trans tech
@nickstransmissions I was already. I have been rising the veiw by watching all of them on the 200r4 and some more than once. I was a Master Ase tech right at 30 years. Did it all but was considered the Trans tech. Most everything was warranty and finessing the job was last on my list to pay my light bill and eat etc. But when you change or up grade the performance then I found finessing is the best way. Thanks man going to watch some more on this trans. You should see a change.
Your videos are great I have successfully rebuilt a Chevy 4l65e and now a 4r70w out of my 94 f150. I found the ford to be way easier than the gm but got them both just the same. I can thank you for my success with these units so thank you nick can express my gratitude enough
Hi Alishakiba, I have auto-transcription turned on which means sub-titles should be appearing in your language on all my videos automatically...I would have no idea how to adjust that setting manually but YT sets it to 'on' as a default... Thank you for watching!
Whats your method for driving out bushings where you can't just use the bushing driver? I'm getting tired of hammering a screwdriver between them and the part to try to punch them out. Last week I marred up a reverse drum pretty bad and had to spend some time with a file cleaning it up before i could drive a new bushing in. I was looking at the Astro slide hammer bushing puller #78410 but can't actually find it anywhere in stock anymore.
I use multiple sets of blind hole pullers of all different sizes that allow me to get in behind bushings and yank them...If the bushing is one of those real small diameter bushings (like a pilot bushing), I drill those out. You can also use blind hole pullers on your press as well, like shown here: ruclips.net/user/shorts15esjc1N5Cc?feature=share
Nick is that exact pump alignment tool still available for purchase? I’m getting a little age on me now I could use one with that large knob. Thanks buddy!
I was actually looking for it on eBay, which is where I bought it about 10 years ago but unfortunately, was unable to find it..It's very well made and has been used on well over 2,000 pumps at this point!
For the price I see these reman pumps going for, that pump body condition is terrible. A new seal and bushing doesn't cover up the fact that it needs machined. Good video, Nick.
Need help locating a 200r4 direct clutch 16 spring retainer and the seat for it . Just bought the whole kit even the billet input shaft , forward billet shaft rtainer. Have a 71 z28 split bumper full tilt restomod with 500 horse 355 was lead about 7 or 8 years ago and followed his advice on the hardened forward clutch retainer. I ripped it out. Was told these parts were good to 550 horse pwr. I see the technology has improved since then. Can my stock caddy retainer be modified ? Whom may have one that I can purchase. Will pay good for it since I can't find one. Thanks for any help. Frustraited !
Contact CK Performance after the holidays, he sells HD forward clutch drums with billet intermediate shafts which I use when dual feeding the direct clutch in those transmissions. He should have what you need.
@@nickstransmissions I just bought his whole kit but he is out of stock on the 16 spring clutch piston retainers. Without that retainer it makes all the billet peices lame. Can the 10 spring retainer be modifyed ?
Yea, you do need that 16-spring retainer...Did he say when they may be back in stock or no? Start calling around to transmission shops in your area, see if anyone has any they would sell. Beyond that, try Cobra Transmission Parts, WITT Performance, Transpartswarehouse, Art Carr, etc...I don't know who you may have already contacted so just throwing out suggestions...
@@nickstransmissions thanks nick for the info very helpful love you vids . I was a dodge trans guy for about 18 years but did side work on all kinds of brands.
This one was actually a bit worse than what I used to see...Most of the time the working surfaces were good but no seal and bushings in the body and stator typically have to be R/R'ed...The reman co purposefully painted that pump, dressed it up to look like it was ready to go. Thanks for watching KAR!
Hey, Nick, how's it going. I have a 1991 700r4 Have not taken it apart yet.But if I need a pump and forward drum, would it be better to use a 4L60e if so what year.
You can retro a 4L60E pump from a 93-94 4L60E...If going into an aux-VB 700R4 like your 1991 unit, you'll need to remove the cup plug over the forward clutch feed circuit in the pump cover so you can install your feed pipe that runs from the Aux VB to the pump on the 700R4.

Yep, horrible condition and they did that shit on purpose.

This is 100 percent typical for a reman unit they just replace what is broken.

So who do you recommend getting reman or new pumps from ?
Says he doesn't buy reman pumps. Just has local machine shop do the machining and builds his own.
@@gailtaylor1636 No kidding, and that does not answer the question..
@@matthewq4b He recommends you find a machine shop and rebuild your own. Hasn't found anyone he trusts to buy one from.
@@gailtaylor1636 And that still does NOT answer the question and listen to the video closer. AND QUIT Answering for them.
@@matthewq4b My apologizes. Bad habit. I thought he was abundantly clear tho. YMMV
