It is widely agreed that Bill would try to HURT the best player on the opposing player, he COULD play but would rather win by any means necessary. “Anybody who teaches a skill, which coaches do, is admirable. But sport doesn’t build character. Character is built pretty much by the time you’re six or seven. Sports reveals character. Sports heightens your perceptions. Let that be enough.” Mark Twain,

From the late 60s to mid 80s, the unwritten rule was that if a guard came inside the paint he was going to get knocked out. And if you were going intentionally foul someone you made sure they did not get the shot off even if it meant going for their head.

He is a great coach, but the wrestling-like fouls by the Pistons he was on are clearly against the rules. What he did was not a foul, but an act of wrestling and violence itself.
Therefore, his two championships are revoked, and it's the NBA's fault. It's also the NBA's fault. It's a crime because he and Rodman caused intimidation of other players. The Knicks play with Ewing was the proper physical fight in real basketball.

Trying to injure people is taking head games too far. Where was the clip of Barkley smacking him? Did I miss it. The opposing coaches should've employed a goon to borrow from hockey. Try take out and injure a team's star and prepare to take a beating. Gretzky wasn't a big tough guy but he didn't get roughed up very much.

Laimbeer did, and it's just my opinion, guys like Bird and Wilkins hate his guts, why?
      Because he played dirty.
MJ had the outter most respect for Joe Dumars because he played tough but was not an thug.
Laimbeer, Mahorn, Rodman, and Thomas instigated them were were dirty.

I'm 47 years old from the Eastside of Detroit, and I was in 9th grade during that time and I was the biggest fan of the Bad Boys but noone was a bigger fan than my mother, she was such a Bill Laimbeer and Rick Mahorn fan that she still has their posters framed in her house today, and she absolutely hates the Bulls so much that I made a mistake a showed up to a family gathering with a Scottie Pippen Jersey on and I mean my mother gave me the 3rd degree and threatened that I better not let her catch me with that "Bulls Shit" again or she's gonna stop talking to me so I don't wear it around her anymore, but to make it up to her for her upcoming birthday I've ordered her a couple of vintage Mahorn and Laimbeer t-shirts, and my goal is to try and see if I can take her to a Pistons game to meet Rick Mahorn since he does a lot of game analysis nowadays. It's time to give Bill Laimbeer his flowers(dead ones of course) and send him a first class ticket to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Check his stats and accomplishments. To hell with Jordan keeping the Bad Boys outta the Dream Team(Zeke) and thr Hall(Laimbeer). He deserves it, love him or hate him, the Pistons ain't winning shyt without Laimbeer.

It is what it was. Pistons aren't really Bad Boys, let alone a Dynasty, without Bill Laimbeer. The old school lovers wouldn't have half the video footage to show and brag to the new school lovers how "the NBA was harder and less g*y" with Laimbeer. You can't mention the late 80's to the early 90's era WITHOUT MENTIONING THE IMPACT AND STRANGLE HOLD THE PISTONS HAD WITHOUT NAMING 5XTIME ALL-STAR BILL LAIMBEER. What the h*ll are wrong with you ppl? Y'all must be Bird, Jordan, Magic, or Barkley fans or something. Smh. The Hall of Fame would be better with Laimbeer in it. Imagine his enshrinement speech.
