      Oh Alison moulds are I would say the easiest thing in asking world. If your a beginner then just brush your mould with a lot of cornflour that way the fondant would never stick. And make sure you fondant is smooth before using it...so you won't have any marks or cracks on it...

      Its A Piece Of Cake I can’t tank you enough -- it’s super difficult . Insta has an account / cupcaker Bradford - her cakes use those molds and I can’t figure Out how in the world does she manage to make it .

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  4 года назад +1

      Hi, I looked at her page. Her cakes are beautiful. The moulds she uses are EXACTLY the same moulds I have and they are used in the same method I have showed in the video. The only difference is when using such small intricate moulds using fondant is abit challenging because its soft and will stretch or rip as you remove them. So you must either use gumpaste or add cnc to your fondant to make your fondant firmer (stronger) so it holds its shape. So brush your mould with corn flour then use gumpaste or the cnc kneaded into fondant then roll out a thin string and insert that in your very fine mould then leave it in the mould for about 15mins just to let the fondant/gumpaste to firm abit and then remove from mould.

    Where do you leave the fondant to dry , and how long do they have to dry

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  4 года назад

      I just leave them on the table let them normally dry overnight then put them in a plastic food container...and whenever i need them will use them...when i used to make them for my cakes i would make them atleast 2 weeks in advance and leave them in airtight container.

    what brand of fondant do you use also can I use icing sugar instead of cornflour?

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  7 лет назад +1

      to be honest I use the cheapest fondant...i use BAKELS fondant it comes in a 7kilo tub and is about $55...it tastes nice and very easy to work with. I NEVER ever use icing sugar. adding more sugar to the fondant drys it out much quicker than corn flour...with icing sugar you get more of a stiffer fondant but means you have to work really fast or else you get "elephant skin"...if you practise with corn flour and icing sugar you will get what i mean...

  • @Arietians
    @Arietians 2 года назад

    Do you use tylose in your fondant?

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  Год назад

      No. I only use it if I need the fondant to dry out fast and is a topper - eg, numbers, tiaras, anything that needs to stand alone. You have to be experienced with fondant before using tylose because it dries the fondant fast which means you have to work fast.

    • @ItsAPieceOfCake
      @ItsAPieceOfCake  4 года назад

      Hi Mariana, i highly recommend that you colour your fondant beforehand. Use americolour gel or wilton gel. I prefer americolour. Knead the gel into your fondant and add a little gel at a time because they are pretty strong in colour. If you want to colour your fondant after using on moulds.. then use the lustre powders or any edible powders but dilute the powder with rose spirit...
