    Im dyslexic and having issues teaching my 2.5 year old to talk. She's refusing to say any words other than No and wont let me teach her (runs away, breakdowns). My husband and I are both ADD as well, so we not sure if this is nature vs nurture situation. Anyway your videos randomly popped up and how you teach makes so much sense. Im 39 and learning how to pronounce letters as they've explained to me wrong (90s public school system). My husband even said I'm losing my slur w certain words! Thank you for helping me and soon my daughter. I hope more people are able to find you and you get the recognition you deserve. You have a gift Sir.

    I love your videos. As a kindergarten teacher I find them extremely helpful. Do you find it easier for the child to read word ending blends or beginning 2 letter blends for example ba, be, bi, bo, bu.

    • @SuperMrgentleman
      @SuperMrgentleman 11 месяцев назад +1

      He says ending blends because it's easier to hold a vowel sound than a consonant

      Hi Kristy, my daughter easily learned to blend the sounds of the letters and learned to read after I made her watched and copy Dory from Nemo movie. Dory talked so slow and blended the letter sound. It might work for you too.

    Hey not sure if you'll see this comment, but I have a question. I'm in my first year teaching KG and 1st grade, and I would like to know, how do you apply something like this in a classroom setting with multiple students? Is it best to have them do it together? Do one student at a time and have the others do something else? If so, what are examples of good activities the others can do independently? Thanks for such excellent videos! I'm working at a small private school and I'm kind of on my own to figure this stuff out.

    What’s the earliest age you start teaching blending sounds?

    • @toddlerscanread
      @toddlerscanread  11 месяцев назад +1

      It depends on their reading stage vs. age. If they know the letter sounds they can typically start blending!

    Never learned phonics, good thing because of words like phone or gnome. English has so many words that don't follow phonics, so you have to learn phonics plus all the exceptions to the rules.
