    Male elk are not called bulls, they're called stags, female elk are not called cows, they're called does, and baby elk are not called calves, they're called fawns, to be fair elk are deer not bovines.

      @notboblowski0624, actually, all of it is true, the males, females, and juveniles of all 70 extant deer species are called stags, does, and fawns respectively, elk are deer, all even-toed hoofed mammals with antlers are deer because all deer have antlers, the words "bull", "cow", and "calf" are more often used for males, females, and juveniles of all bovids except for goats, sheep, true antelope, gazelles, duikers, dwarf antelope, reedbucks, lechwes, kobs, pukus, waterbucks, and rheboks.
