Its funny because I used to see people say “leos losing record to shuton is fake, and its a result of a low sample size and wins from early ultimate.” And yet, they all still cry bracket fixing when leo gets seeded into him. Hows he gonna break the streak if he never plays him? 😅

tbf it took a really long time to get 3 sets between the two compared to other top players and 6-0 while it isn't a good look, can be the result of a small sample size. That being said once it got to 3 sets it was shouldn't be called a fluke.
As for bracket fixing, every player that wasn't Japanese had a messed up bracket (glutto having to play Acola and even if he won Ken afterwards, Leo playing against Shuton, Sparg0 being seeded against yaura and hurt, and Zomba being seeded against Miya). Its obviously not definitive proof but at some point you gotta say "what are the odds?"

This was actually close and looked doable, maybe the difference maker was that Shuton was making a lot of money with purple up smashes
I dont understand the final stock lol it hurt my head seeing shuton pull out a white pikmin during that final string and proceeded to use the purple 2 times in a row without it changing order. Or it may have and he changed the order that smoothly!His mastery is something else i didnt realize that tech was even a thing. :edit ok wait the white, was a blue and the back air for a moment i thought was a purple, mystery solved

Leo please stall with gun midair. Then you'd be able to get them bairs. That could have been a leo 3-0 if he got the edge guards.

I think gun off stage would have been the difference maker here. Leo did well, maybe slightly winning in neutral, but Olimar has much better kill power. To win this match up you gotta get them edge guards and he only got one yet this was still super close. Leo needs more practice in this match up and he’d never lose it again. I also feel he could just go Cloud and straight dumpster Shuton even without warming up the character. Leo respects Shuton way too much.

Im surprised to see mkleo partaking in Delta 8. From what im aware of, he would definitely prefer Delta 9 a lot more. All jokes aside, his joker is still godlike.
Leo did some very questionable rebel guards there. Also I think he should spam arsene backair more often, specially when offstage, the move is just that good and it feels like he's forgotten about it. Still, there's no denying shuton owns leo at this point

To be fair, shuton has been beating leo since 2019
And Ngl his joker was acc moving. If u watch his sets all tourney his joker was back and acc going crazy. He lost to Shuton his bracket demon and lost to Aka the hero player bc he switched to Byleth and Roy and didn’t trust in the joker 🥲
@kajin2422 nah, roy was definitely the pick for that hero matchup. You have to rush down hero so he doesn't have a chance to read his spells (especially given the language barrier for Leo). But I do agree with what you said about his joker schmoovin. People downplay this set bc it was a 3-0 but I think Leo played it well and was an interaction away from winning each game
@@gerardoortega323 I main hero and I think both Joker and Roy are horrible for Hero, so both picks are fine but I thought the joker might have been better just bc it was more warmed up. Still his Roy was def saucing Aka up, and I can see how it’d be better to choose Roy in the MU especially w the language barrier. But nah fr Leo was acc on fire last night. I’m happy he’s found the 3 characters he wants to play. Let’s hope he can make the top 8 for Kagaribi tn 🥲

Zachray's Joker has defeated Shuton's Olimar many times.
As an Olimar, I honestly don’t know how to feel about this MU. Joker rushes down Oli hard and Arsene can kill insanely early, but Joker doesn’t really have reliable Pikmin killing tools.
I genuinely would like to know why this might be a terrible MU for Joker, outside of what I mentioned.

He can only down b against side b and the biggest issue for Joker is the fact that Olimar is small and whistle makes the combos on him more annoying
Plus Joker can’t even rush Olimar down cuz he can up smash and edgeguarding Olimar ain’t that simple either

Well it happen, honestly boring at this point, good thing JP sponsors arent the great thing because if their top 15 manage to get out of there and compete worldwide we would be watching top 8 full JP players every tournament everywhere..
That would happen initially at first, but that would actually be great for the game. More international talents from japan helps further growth and progress in other countries. It would start sparking discussions as you start seeing japanese players as insane threats.
And i bet the pros wont simply take this lying down. I expect our players to step up their games, to challenge them when they are here, to take more trips to japan to learn the tricks and their mindset. It would be a new era of smash.
Ngl I disagree with that if an luis can beat a miya, shuton , asimo & yaura I feel there could be enough that also can.. for example dabuz breakwall for yaura & miya..

Back 2 years ago? Nah I’m certain mkleo would still have been number 1. One player isn’t enough to completely changed the rankings. Look at last year, sparg0 is arguably an even more dominant threat against acola than shuton is to leo, and yet acola remained number 1, and i agree with that decision.

this tournament he out placed every other non Japanese player and only lost to his bracket demon in shuton and the best Japanese hero main, I wouldn't exactly say he fell off. Yes, he's not the best player in the world anymore, but he did pretty well at this tournament IMO
