Personally I am a pretty big Datsun 620 fan and so when I saw this kit, I had to have it. Unfortunately, the only part of this kit that is actually a 620 is the cab itself. Interior, chassis, engine, even the rear box, none of it is correct. Still a very fun little kit! What do you think? Datsun fan?
lol, yeah the orange is pretty cool. I used to own one in orange, and one in red, and one in black, and one in white....I owned a lot of 620s in my time. haha.
I ❤ this video Spencer. Nice and clean building, smooth edits and good focus for 99% of the video 😮. Few know how much work it is to film and edit a whole build into a 13 min video and consistently post! Your work is unappreciated my friend.
Thank you for saying my friend. RUclips is a funny place, the more videos you create and edit, the more you have appreciation and understanding for other pepole's work. I love watching and seeing other people's work, both their building and their video creating skills. I have come up with a decent formula for my work that helps me keep creative and still not take too long in my processes. Also helps that I try and build just about every day. lol.
A pox on your oily hide! I bought the Club de Mer because of you, after watching your great build of it. Now this! I had this kit, and I traded it to my dealer for something else. Now, here you are, another great build, and damned if I don’t want it back. And no doubt at twice whatever he gave me for it. The Husky is the clincher. I had to have it when it came out back in the day, and it was the bike then, too. Nice build. It looks good.
lol, sorry to be such an influance on you! hahaha. The Club de Mer was a blast and this one was also a ton of fun to build. As long as you don't take these old kits too seriously, they can be really satisfying to build. I've had this one for a while but was a little dissapointed when I got it as just about nothing on this is actally Datsun except for the body. Even the interior is way off lol. Still once you look past that, it actually is a great kit and goes together really well considering it's age. And you are correct, the bike is amazing! Unfortunatally, I didn't actually look up any photos of the bike before I got started and once I was finished the build, I took a look online at some photos. The detail is just amazing considering it is only 9 parts in total. I actually would love to get my hands on another bike and just detail it out with hoses, better paint and adding on aditional scratch built stuff. I would love to hear more about what you would like to see me build. My stash is not too big and I do try and add to it pretty regular with more obsure and unusal kits.
I like watching you build what you build. You build things that I don’t, but it’s cool to see them built. I have some of what you have, but you have a lot more Japanese kits than I do. Although I have been adding to my Japanese stash. I’ve watched all of your vids, and the Club de Mer I’ve watched twice, with plans to watch it again. Let me check with my dealer (he is like a dealer, and I’m like an addict), because I may be able to glom onto something for you to help with your motorcycle Jones. I’m pretty sure he has it, but now that I’ve said that, he won’t. Keep on building, Spencer!
@@davidparker2259 Being in Canada, if I have to import kits, I may as well import from Japan as kits from there end up being the same cost or less then if I try and import from the US. When I can pick up Japanese kits for about $30 CAD delivered or buy domestic ones from a Canadian dealer for $40, well, the choices are a little easier then. Still, there is a lot of domestic stuff I want to build, for sure. It has been about a year since I have done a big order from the US and I think it is almost time to get it done. lol. I am always trying to expand my subject mater so if you have any suggestions for future builds you would like to see, feel free to let me know. I am always open for a bit of a challenge to get out of my comfort zone. Thanks again for watching, you keep watching and I will keep building!
Really cool truck.. I watched your 1975 Datsun build ( also a cool build ) and i remember guys who jacked up their Datsun's . This is a pretty old kit that i haven't seen in a very long time.. You did a absolutely amazing job , i enjoy watching you do your magic. I really like your color choice , definitely fits the body style..🕊️
This kit was kind of funny as the only thing Datsun about it is the front cab. lol. Still, it was a super fun build and I really enjoyed it. They also did another version that is the same truck but with a trailer and 2 of the motorbike! Too cool! haha. Glad you enjoyed the build.
Holly smokes, just looked this up. Rough riders set which is the same as this one but has the extra pieces of the trailer and one more bike. This is amazing. Now this is a set I would love to get my hands on. Building 2 of these bikes would be perfect. Thanks so much for watching and for letting me know about this other version.
First I put them in bleach but it didn't really do too much. I then used some purple power and let them soak for a few days. That got most of the chorme off. It was really thick chrome and it was surprising how much detal was lost by using it.

Nice video. An interesting kit. Excellent work. Thanks for sharing.
It is an unusal kit for sure. These old Revell kits can be a lot of fun.
@@ScaleAutoGarage It is definitely different, but really cool.
