The MSA300 Is a joy powerful machine I have one. Attending at classes the 161T is superior, I have it to. With one AP200 battery I cut twice as long on the 161T has I do with one AP500S battery on the MSA300, wish they with be comparable in this regard.
I have one MSA300 for almost a year and yes is a nice powerful saw however is not really a saw for a continuous working. 2 days ago I went help a friend cutting birch and oak from a pile of logs near the house I have the charger AL500 on all the time, I have the MSA300 and also the 220C for small limbs, I have 4 AP500S, 3 AP300S and 1 AP300 batteries, we start at 8.30 am and after lunch we have to use my old husky gas power, with all this batteries previously charged and the AL 500 charger one from the beginning still end up with out batteries. On a thick logs the AP500S about 15 minutes and is out of power, then on top of that it got hot and takes about 15 minutes just to cool of so it can start recharging again. The saw is fine, battery techtechnology fails very, very short for this saw. I have used this saws I can say quite heavy and in did never have any problem except for one screw on the MSA300 for it had failed on me twice already.
Who ever have the MSA300 be very carful DO NOT over tight the screws that holding the plastic cap over the air filter. In mine with just a little more pressure and after that one screw keep go and go around and I have to go by a Stihl dealer to fix it.
will there be a second generation of the saw? quieter and lighter? saw noisy same as gasoline. and unjustifiably heavy.
No saw noise not the same not even comparable I have both gas and battery power saws and Trimmers. Battery is much quieter.

Well. A chain saw is one of those things that if one need to see a video to assemble it, he should have not bought it from the start ....
