- Опубликовано: 12 сен 2024
- When Federal Agent Aaron Falk returns to his home town after an absence of over twenty years to attend the funeral of his childhood friend, Luke, who allegedly killed his wife and child before taking his own life - a victim of the madness that has ravaged this community after more than a decade of drought. When Falk reluctantly agrees to stay and investigate the crime, he opens up an old wound - the death of 17- year-old Ellie Deacon. Falk begins to suspect these two crimes, separated by decades, are connected. As he struggles to prove not only Luke’s innocence but also his own, Falk finds himself pitted against the prejudice towards him and and pent-up rage of a terrified community.

I can’t remember the last time I saw Eric Bana on screen. This looks good.
@MUFC what the hell??..
That's a bit random isn't it?..
Or am I missing something..
What's that got to do with the price of chops in China? Or the subject at hand!?
Lol..
No offence
He was branching out a bit with a few dramas e.g. 1 with Meg Ryan but a couple of thrillers too. Here’s 1.

He was in Dirty John on Netflix
“Dirty John” was very recent
I’m not usually a fan of Australian movies but this movie is phenomenal. Highly recommend going to watch this.
I love all Australian movies like boar red dog red dog true blue wolf creek wolf creek 2 wolf creek the series many more
Australia makes great movies, far more realistic and better acted than the Hollywood crap the US markets.
@Kathleen L yup!completely agree with u!Aussie movie possess that poignant vibe!I have watched a lot of Aussie movies.
@@Alskdoenfkemfnek well thats cap
@@13reasonswhy34 may I ask you what are your top 5 movies. Australian or other?
been a while since we had a good aussie thriller
Watch GOLDSTONE one hell of a movie..
Checkout The Furnace
thanks guys, will do!
I know right
This is such a good Australian movie. I’ve got to say it’s one of the best Australian movies made in a while. I’ve watched this film and I want to watch it again.😊
Unbelievable film, extremely well written, I haven't read the book but dam this film is well done. Eric Bana smashes it out of the park, he's a real well seasoned actor now. Excellent cinematography too.
I just finished the book, would recommend!
Hooray for some very good Aussie cinema. Maybe this film can re-ignite our passion for making films that don't present us all as lovable bogans. Seems to me that since The Castle there's been this desire to present us all as incredibly simple folk wtih hardly a dimension worth sharing. But here's a film that offers depth, a glimpse into a real Australia that still exists in smaller towns and a real sense of pace and purpose. Hope it does well and we see more like it.
Just watched it last night. Outstanding film.
I just watched it at the movies an hour ago, I was in absolute tears. I called some of it but it was still shot and directed so well.
Good Australian movie. Very good. The story, the cast ,all perfect..
Great to hear Eric with an Aussie accent again. I'll have to see this movie
Missed Eric Bana acting. Chopper is one of my favorite movies.
This is an incredibly powerful movie, a must see
Just went in randomly seeing Eric Bana and knowing its shot in Victoria.
Really solid movie. Listening to the song by Ell on loop now
Saw this in cinema , believe it or not. Masterpiece
I can hardly remember the book now, but I remember it being good!
I’m about 3/4 through reading this book. It’s going to be good seeing it brought to life.
Same, I’ve only just about gotten past the interviews with grant and Jamie in the book, can’t wait to watch it in live action
Seeing this one next weekend with a Q&A with Eric Bana and the Director
Just a bit jealous !! Enjoy
Cool!. How cools that! . Good on you..
@@Add_Account485 just watched it and it’s one hell of a film. Definitely see it this weekend with advance screenings all around Australian cinemas
@@adriang00000 oh yeh.. what about the q & a ?
@@Add_Account485 it was great, he answered some decent questions. It was great seeing the cast and director in person after seeing most of them on the big screen.
Yeah, just stumbled across this and I knew they were going to make it one day because the book was good...great to see it's here in a month. I will definitely watch it. Btw, I though Hugh might play the lead, but Eric looks so good.
0:32 I haven't seen him since Aquamarine.
EDIT: Good to see Eric Bana acting in some good ol Aussie produce again!
Is this the guy out of Black Hawk Down?
Yup thats him
I'm a big fan of Australian movies great to see something good hit the screens.
It has been a long time.
I’ve read the book! So keen for this even though I know the ending
As someone who was a reader of the book and patiently waiting for the movie, how did ya find it?
I saw this today. Brilliant stuff - worth a watch.
Genuinely one of the best books I’ve read and now I own all of Jane Harpers books. I’m very excited for this!!!
Just finished the survivors... also fantastic !
Saw this tonight, it’s a brilliant film, highly recommended seeing it on the big screen
The book is fantastic, can't wait to see the movie
This movie is amazing seen it yesterday amazing twists!
Saw this last night. Damn good.
When is this out?
Eric was amazing in this. SO underrated.
Brilliant film. Once again Eric Bana is brilliant. Support Australian arts.
Sad this passed me by. Will have to grab a blu ray
Love seeing the falcons and commodores ..
The novel was brilliant. And going by the reviews, the movie seems good.
just started reading the book. I am really looking forward to seeing this
Eric's voice reminds me of his role in Chopper!!
This is his normal voice, not Chopper's voice!
Thank you
One of those trailers I like getting in ads about because I get to hear that song. Looking forward to hearing the full version (presumably) after the movie comes out!
Yeah I was wondering if there is a version online but can't find it

Eric Bana is such a hottie, I'm all in for this one
Just imagine if heath ledger was alive and played in this movie 💫💯
Well done Australia keep making more good films .
Whoa was that the helicopter pilot Bruce Spence from The Road Warrior there at 0:32? This film isn't on his IMdB but it sure looks like him.
Yes it is! Good spot. Not sure why he's not listed on IMDb, but he's mentioned in press releases. William Zappa from The Road Warrior also stars in this too.
In the end, a sad melancholic film.
Fantastic movie.
REALLY GOOD MOVIE!! way better than the little things
Who is singing the Milky Way tonight in this ?
Great Aussie Thriler!
It's Bebe Bettencourt, who's in the movie.
sick of these arty types using shit female voices on Aussie classic songs
@undeadkid101 101 my view is entirely valid sweetie 😘
BeBe Bettencourt is singing the song in this trailer . She plays the character of Ellie Deacon in the movie .
Song Name : Under the Milky Way
Original Artist : The Church
First Released : 1987
👍 👍 It is going to be a terrific movie . I did read the novel . Truly superb . Cheers 👍 👍
I love how this film was shot in my home town of Minyip.
Yea same was shot at mine too , in Banyena
U know Ellie deacon in the book has dark hair
10/10 really good!
Mum's upset!
Great movie!
Finally he's back Eric Banner 👍
I had to read this book for school a couple of months ago it was scary
Go watch it, it's incredible
Finished the book. Thought it was really good
This looks so good!
I was going to watch this 🥺
Amazing movie and very dark.
This movie doesn't tell you more than it needs to. It is show don't tell. Subtle audio cues make you remember those scenes later. The editing both audio and scene help the scene transitions feel smooth and not jarring but you could feel the transition/progression of time. If you love the art of film if you love those haunting Aussie films. . If I were to give it an American comparison for tone and type of story it would be like Three Billboards outside Epping Missouri. It is also based on a book and does it justice and I recommend reading the book if that's your thing but it isn't necessary.
Damn the ending was unexpected 😢
This looks fantastic.
I'm actually an extra in this movie not lying, I'm honest
prove it by telling us exactly what scene and doing what exactly
@@suave-rider Well I don't feel comfortable spoiling the movie but what I can tell you is that I was a school student and I walked around in the background of the movie.
Cool I love it! I hope you enjoyed it and had a great day. I’ve been an extra before and always loved it, especially as it doesn’t feel like working!
True blue Impersonations I did enjoy it and I meet the guy who played as young Eric banner witch was nice and saw the director of the movie (director of paper planes). Being an extra was fun.
@@lukanorsen9876 I hope you you get lots of work it’s a nice memory.
Good ol choppa ayy mate
O ho. Aussie thriller movie. Lets go and watch it.
Looks great, I'll be there 👍
twist after twist! watch it now!

@@luxmatt8661 All the best. Thanks.
Song?
“Under the Milky Way” - The Church
I enjoyed this film.Which l hardly watch Aussie films.
My friend Danny in Tas just sent me this trailer, can't wait to see it, although I wish it were with him :-(
First sentence in the description does not make sense structurally. Would be grammatically correct either without the first word, When, or if it was ended a different way. Normally I wouldn't care, but this seems like a professional RUclips channel, so...
For all you aussies out there , I don’t know about you but I can’t take bana seriously , every time I see his face I laugh , I can’t see past his full frontal skits
Watch him in "Dirty John". That might change your mind - it did mine!
This is running on cable, and I thought it was wonderful-the landscape, the cinematography, was part of that, but Eric Bana’s native accent and usual subtle performance were the bigger draw…
Eric banna from TROY❤️❤️❤️
Reminds me of mystery road
This is a book too
Makes me think on the movie insomnia
Rare 100% reviewed for Rotten Tomatoes 🍅 must see movie
Was looking forward to this until I noticed Australia’s jimmy saville, Bruce spence.
Love me some BANA!
does anyone know if this is actually a good movie lmao
yes it actually is good
Well made. Worth watching
LOOKS GOOD..

Eric Bana is smoking hot, in addition to being a great actor. Had to be said, he so pretty 😍

Now showing in NZ it lifts the game of the Australians , given their reputation here has really suffered.
Partly with the export of their penal inmates who have done time, lived there, their entire lives, but might have a NZ birth ; that might well make an contemporary story of the loss of the ANZAC shine ?
Great movie
The trailer editing and music is off putting, it isn't batman. Redo the trailer more subduely and make it more homely suspenseful.
Couldn't agree more, trying to be too Hollywood. Hope the film is good though
I don't think so ..
It sold me...
I haven't been interested in any movies for a long time...
They all look like sh#t to me
Even the ones with famous actors..
But this one looked really good.. imo..
And everyone else who commented thought so too..
Just personal preference I guess...
But I honestly thought it was great in my opinion....
🤗
It's nothing like a Batman Trailer. Name one Batman Trailer that this compares to?
Is kid aloud to watch
"The Dry" kinda sums up the movie. Not a lot of action. Shame cause I like Erica Hanna.
It might help if you got his name right. 😒
"Federal agent"?This is Australia, not the US. Stays to investigate the crimes? Under what authority? Much as I like Aussie drama and Bana, this is smelling already.
He is an Australian Federal Police officer.
@undeadkid101 101 Yes, I know how the police systems work in Oz. That why the whole premise of the film is silly and I won't be watching.
This looks really good and i wanna go watch it except for the fact that i cant STAND aussie accents 😂😂
Geeze mate - what are yer?
The film transcends the ocker accent , its worthy .
I can't believe I wasted 2 minutes and 15 seconds of my life watching this garbage which passes itself as a "Thriller"!...LOL!
Both the first and second trailer makes the movie look soooo bland. There's just this boring vibe it gives off. I hope the movie would be better than these trailers.
